A ‘fish rag’ is a must.... I bring a couple of blue shop rags, something handy to wipe slime, blood and bait gunk off your hands on. Using your shorts or shirt only goes so far! LOL! A piece of pipe insulation or foam pool noodle to lash or zip tie to the rail at your spot helps to protect your rod if you have to use the rail as leverage on a dump truck grouper or amberjack.

My wife and I both have the Daiwa Saltist thanks to your recommendation a long time ago. I absolutely love it... best reel I've ever owned... It is a true snapper slayer and still offers enough power for a chance at the bigger boys too. I plan to get the Saltiga someday. Great video as usual Capt.

Ditto’s thank you on the awesome how to videos, so much good info! I’ve been on a few 39 hr trips, been a long time. I’m booking some 12 hr Snapper trips ASAP, and the 39 hr and longer trips too. Your boats CATCH, not just fish.

Love the tips. All except giving away the bunk tip. I got lucky the first time I ever went out and had one of those bunks. Was great. And they are usually the ones that no one gets. That was always my favorite upstairs bunk area. Great job Dylan. Can't wait for grouper/snapper season.
