Leni's ratting them out because of envy and rage during a WAR is similar to how there was a British intelligence agent, Noor Inayat Khan - she built a resistance network in France against the Germans in WW2, was successful and managed to do the undercover operation so well, only to get herself eventually caught because her co-worker's sister was jealous that Noor's charm had made the man she liked fell in love with Noor instead of her. Crazy.
Noor story is really sad, they tortured her and yet she stayed faithful and never gave them any information but unfortunately she was shot but I think either way she would of been killed if she gave info or not. It’s sad that this still goes on even today and it’s crazy what human emotions will do to a person. Jealousy is such an ugly human emotion and sometimes it gets people killed
- Ludwig's last name was the same as Leon's biscuit brand that he gave him when he met him! LUDWIG HARDTACK... - Gab, thank you so much for this playthrough! So hype for you to play Syberia 1 & 2... You will love them! PS: You are, by far, one of the best game streamers out there. Cheers Gab!
Hardtack isn't a brand but a type of biscuit. It's very very dry and hard and so it lasts a long long time due to its dryness. Good for provisions when traveling long distances. But I've heard it tastes pretty bland. I sure wouldn't want to eat it from what I've heard of its taste and texture.
I don't think we're going to get a Syberia 5 after this one, Sokal passed away just a few months before the release of this game, so he basically took care of the entire franchise. A 5th game without him wouldn't make much sense, like a Metal Gear game without Kojima, these are heavily author-driven projects, their hand is what gives these games their soul. Kate has just taken another train to another adventure, her calling goes on... We might never know if she'll stop, or if she'll ever find Dana, or peace altogheter!
I am still not over just how beautiful and heartbreaking this story was. I am still on the fuck you Leni train forever. No matter how naïve she was, I hope her demons truly did kill her lol. This was my first Syberia game as well and now I cannot wait to go back and start from the beginning of this series! Thank you so much for playing / streaming it.
I wouldn’t even say Leni was naive. To me from the moment Dana met her I would say she was bitter. Bitter to Junta, her father and even Dana because they all had lives things or affections that she wanted ( except her dad but she was bitter at him for wanting a quiet life while she wanted life in the city not counting him siding with the enemy). She always held a flame for Leon and I bet couldn’t stand that she lost to Dana twice in her lifetime. Did she mean I’ll when she told the Brown Shadow about their location, I say yes, but she deluded herself to thinking that they wouldn’t hurt them and probably would come after the storm when her band was gone and maybe only Dana was their to wait for evacuation back to London. In the end I think she just wanted Dana gone, but she played herself in a big way and was forced to stay in the refuge, a place she so desperately wanted to leave.
Its incredible how they depicted real historical events in this game. The reichskristallnacht (night of the broken glass) or novemberpogromnacht happened on the night of 09.11.1938 It was a pogrom against the jews, like in the game agains the vagheners. Also the references to brown (the uniform of the sturmabteilung after 1924 was brown; so the troups were called braunhemden) and the way how höss is portrayed „we will find you“ like they were searching for jewish people back then and how the people had to hide! This is a wonderful example of good fictional story telling while also showing and telling pretty much what happened in the real world in history! I really like that they didn’t change dates such as the pogrome! Btw there was a resistance group called edelweiss piraten, i also think they used the edelweiss reference because of that (since there are a lot of flowers, cant be a coincidence imo), also there was a resistance group called die weisse rose (maybe you heard of the siblings hans and sophie scholl), again with danas surname (roze) i dont think this is a coincidence! Especially since she (dana) became a high ranked person in the resistance against the brown shadow. Maybe even dana wanting to call her baby „anna“ might be in hommage to anne frank, but thats more of a speculation i guess ^^ What a great game
Edelweiss is also the national Flower of Austria (my home country). That's because Empress Elisabeth of Austria wears Edelweiss shaped Cristals in her hair in her most famous painting. So when Leon calls Dana Edelweiss I read admiration and some sense of royalty into it. :)
forgot to mention: Men used to climb up mountaintops to pick Edelweiss for their love interest. Now it's actually forbidden to pick them bc they're endangered.
when the game showed that the entire bit you play as Leon was, indeed, transcribed as a letter as well, my jaw dropped. they spared absolutely no expenses or time to ensure that every tiny detail was there and it resulted in such a beautiful and put together story, I'm actually in awe, what a fantastic game also I'm team forgive Leni. in her hot tempered naivety she made a mistake which she later reflected on for what, 60 years, in the exact spot where she betrayed her people and paid for it not only in her physical ability but also Leon, the one person she made the mistake for in the first place. like damn she fucked up royally but I feel like nobody knows it better than her
I started watching this playthrough in the morning and somehow it is now almost 10 hours later and i have been crying my eyes out for the last 2 of them... i am just blown away by this story, and i am definitely going to give syberia another try and play the earlier games myself! I feel like i just binge-watched the most gorgeous yet heartbreaking show
This had such an amazing story, thank you for playing it Gab! Had a few very teary moments in this last part. I'm absolutely in for when you play the earlier Syberia games!
Such an amazing game! I lost all hope after Syberia 3. Syberia 1 and 2 are still one of my favorite games, remaining high ever since I played them in my childhood. It's so fun to see some things from previous games Gab sadly missed in this one, like the Voralberg key or the impact of Oscar being back, why apologizing to Olivia stung as hell after the stunt she pulled, or even the shape of automaton run trains resembling the OG one. Such a trip down the memory lane. Gab definitely needs to play the previous games!
1:10:20 "SAM" would be Surface to Air Missle systems. Such systems would've been highly fringe during WW2 and as expected the icon on the map shows a heavy anti-air artillery battery instead. Small detail I noticed.
I googled here to see about the brutal ending (spoilers) but also found a great channel! During this EPIC story It's actually not hard to figure out that baby Anna's death was going to be fake. And if you match the dates and the painting similarities she is obviously Granny, so that wasn't a complete shock. But to leave us hanging about finding Granny is heartbreaking. I played and loved the series since 2002, I'll be 65 for the next one in five years kids chew on that.
Wow, I haven't been so into the story of a Let's Play in a while. I was on the edge of my seat! I'm so glad you took us on this journey, Gab! Thank you!
Thanks for playing that. Such a lovely story and so beautifully picturesque. I certainly hope it won't take 5 years for the next one to come out. Again, thanks. Keep Smiling.
Potential spoilers (and guaranteed rambling): I was pretty sure the Zimmers took the baby even before Leni told Kate about Dana being put to sleep for the birth. There was the letter from the Zimmers to Dana's parents mentioning that they would remain childless forever (when they wanted children)--this same letter also mentioned that they were going to move to the US--there's fact that Dana's parents were so upset about Dana being pregnant out of wedlock (whether it be for the sake of ruining reputations or her future career or because of the brewing war). There's every chance that the whole thing was set up perfectly from the moment Dana was sent to the Sanatorium; Leni did say her parents arranged it, and the Zimmers financed it, as their 'good friends'. Convenient, it was a win-win situation for both couples: Dana's parents don't have to worry about their daughter's bad reputation and the Zimmers get the child they've always wanted. It might not have even been done for malicious reasons, on any of their parts; they all saw Dana as a girl, still, and one who was sickly, and perhaps a little foolish (after all, she went to a summer job to earn tuition money and came back pregnant without even a fiancee, in the 1930s, right as a fascist army was taking over). Also, communication during the time period was somewhat unreliable even under normal circumstances; harder still during the disruption of war. It's possible that they might have told Dana about her daughter once they were in the states, but I do think it's unlikely. Telling Dana her daughter had died was their way of trying to force her to move on (though I agree with Gab, the idea that they would have buried the baby so quickly, before Dana even woke up to see her, is ridiculous) and the Zimmers making sure 'their' child had a name other than Anna was them hiding their tracks and making the child their own. I really do hope that Dana is still alive and in Baltayar. Even if she and Kate don't get to spend much time together, what with Dana being in her mid 80s and living in a cold mountain region. Although if she is still alive she's been there for 20 years, so she's probably in pretty good shape for an older woman (I know a woman who stayed quite fit until her late 80s, so it's definitely possible). This game was phenomenal; the story had such amazing ups and downs, the scenes were both beautiful and tragic, the visuals were just stunning...I also feel like, for the most part, the gameplay didn't detract too much from the story, but it also didn't feel like watching a movie. It was kind of the perfect amount of interactivity. It did look like the controls could get a bit frustrating at times, but I wasn't using them so I can only garner how they work from what Gab was saying, and it didn't sound like anything I'd used before. I'm still mindblown that I'd never heard of this series before seeing Gab play this game.
Agree with everything you said. I see a lot of people hate on the Zimmers, but I think they did it with good intentions, even if it seems shocking today. And they saw the writing on the wall that the baby would likely be killed in Vaghen. I believe they wold have eventually told Dana after the war, but probably assumed she was killed like her parents, since Junta wisked her off in secret to the UK.
I just want to say I'm so peeved that the former best friend character has my name. Other than that this was so riveting to watch and I'm sad its over. Man, poor Dana! I was really rooting for her and Leon! It hurts my heart. Maybe she'll get to meet her grand-daughter though, I really hope so! Thank you for this play through it was great! Beautiful game.
This was actually such a good playthrough, I literally just started watching your videos and they're just super entertaining, nice job! 😊👍 p.s more bb content? lol
Welcome to the channel, she's great. I love B.B too, such a cutie. He isn't around in streams as much since they moved house but I love when she puts B.B cam on in the corner of the screen.
This was awesome to watch on twitch (and catch up on the ending here) so invested now! Lol I cannot wait to know if they found eachother!! Thank you for playing, amazing as always 🙌🏻
I am so excited! I cannot wait to see you play the first games !! To see you play with the old Kate, meet hans and solve the old puzzles !! To meet the old automatons and visit the old places ! I can’t wait !!
I loved watching this game. Dana deserved to go off on the Zimmers. Was it Junta/Janet who was following Kate around and making those entries? Also why did the Walkers leave their front door open? They have a very nice looking house with nice stuff because Zimmers were wealthy. I wonder if either of the Zimmers had a deathbed confession to Kate’s mom. I need Kate and Dana to formally meet even if Dana only has a little bit to live.
Gab this was such a fun playthrough, and the game's story was sooo good. I just picked up the first two games cause they were on sale on Switch. Can't wait to watch your playthroughs as well if you get to them!
Yesss! Thank you so much for playing this. It brought such nostalgia for me and it was so nice to watch you enjoy this game so much. I do hope that you'll go back to play the series from the beginning because the story is truly something else and I'm sure you'll enjoy it despite the games being pretty old by now. (Also hoping for Dreamfall in the future
This was an amazing series, cannot wait for the next part. Though, what bothers me is that they describe Alpine Lover Leon as 'fair haired', when he always seems to have rather dark hair to me. Really thought it would turn out to be someone else....
What a fantastic series! I cant wait to see the first couple of games and I cant wait for the 5th game. This is a hidden gem, thank you so much for sharing with everyone!
If you're going back to point-and-click Syberias then "The Longest Journey" is also worth checking out. It's about a teenage girl who gets whisked away from her mundane life on future-sciency-earth to a parallel fantasy-earth, and somehow ends up with the job of fixing reality. It came out around 2000, so it's a bit old, but there's a HD mod that makes it look nice.
Thanks for making me discover this game ! The story is incredible and so well written, plus the design is gorgeous ! I'm crossing fingers season 5 is not in 5 years LoL
The creator of the Syberia games Benoît Sokal died last year and left behind him a lot of creative worlds as an illustrator and writer. If you like adventure point&clicks I recommend playing Amerzone and Paradise. Like Syberia they take place in fictional/alternative versions of South America and Africa, Amerzone especially is a classic of french/belgian adventure games and it's available on Steam.
this series has ancient music that can “curse” people, mammoths, giant ships made out of ivory, Dog-Seal hybrid and highly advanced automatons and yet it still feels grounded and i Love it
Oh damn, I remember playing first Syberia games when I was little and seeing your playthrough of the new game that I couldn't play myself bring back a lot of memories! I really need to play this one some day... Also, I think I know a game you could possibly enjoy - it's a visual novel series called Perseverance, it has two parts + part 3 demo so far and it's a horror drama, I think it could fit with your pick of games!
Haven't finished the video yet, and this may contain some spoilers to future viewers, so you have been WARNED!! So, like gab said, I reckon Anna was taken away at birth, and was not actually dead all those years. Dana's parents seemed pretty keen to hide Dana away when they found out she was pregnant, so what if Dana's parents organised it with their friends (the Zimmers, was it?) and made some messed up plan to have Dana put to sleep during her birth (the Zimmers were paying for her stay at the Sanatorium, after all. Who knows what else they could have paid for), then they took the baby and sold her off to a family in America.. And that's why Anna's name was changed to Sarah (Sarah Walker. Kate's late mother). Could also explain why Sarah doesn't know much about her heritage, and the hymn the Swan plays. Perhaps Sarah knew that the parents she grew up with, were in fact just her foster parents.
Great! Enjoyed your playthrough! A little bit on the ending of your video - Syberia 3 was amazing in terms of story and variety, and even visuals, for a game that has been on hold for 10 years and released after 12. Syberia 3 was pretty much multiple times nearly cancelled, but survived. For the time it finally managed to release, 2017, the graphics were not up to date with the year, but I can only imagine how well the game would have been received if it released in 2011 - 2012 or 2013 when it was supposed to.
People didn't like Syberia 3 mainly because of the technical bugs and poor voice acting. There's only a few voice actors who voice over the entire pletora of characters, and this played a terrible joke on how people perceive Syberia 3. For example Syberia 1 and 2 had a great cast of voices, Syberia The World Before as well, but I guess that in all of the rush, and the low budget because of all of the postponing of the game they sacrificed the voice overs for the game. The game plays bad on PC, because the point and click aspect of it is executed poorly, but The World Before did the opposite, it remodeled the point and click aspect, and point and click has never felt more comfortable and amazing.
I generally think that Syberia 3 could be fixed with a budget. Voice acting could be redone and reimplemented to fix everything. They could even fix other technical bugs and maybe reimplement gameplay mechanics, maybe add things that were removed from the game too, but Syberia 3 is a fantasic adventure otherwise. Syberia The World Before feels more straightforward and linear than Syberia 3 did. Syberia 3 definitely combined best of both worlds, the best from Syberia 1 and especially from Syberia 2, and set up the future of the franchise that resulted in the amazing Syberia: The World Before.
Said all of that I don't think you should have listened to the reviews of the critiques. Not all fans, but the majority of Syberia fans loved Syberia 3, and most spitted on the game was from game media, critiques. As said above there was a reason why, but given that most of those who gave the game a bad score/review didn't even finish it, I don't think they have much of a right to talk about it. First finish a game and then talk about it.
I loved your playthrough of the latest game, and to be honest I am anticipating to see you play the rest of the games, and most of all Syberia 3 to be honest. All the environmental details in Syberia 3 are extremely impressive. You can interact with the environment more than you can in Syberia: The World Before. It is very well made, and there's quite a lot of epic moments that no other game has ever managed to introduce. That's why Syberia is a cult classic, and it keeps carrying this specific vibe no other game has managed to achieve yet. Unfortunately today's gamers don't really know much about the point and click genre, neither about Syberia, or even other cult classic point and click games like Broken Sword, or The Longest Journey. Today people know better of those horror Dark Picture games, or Telltale games, but these games don't really have anything in common with the spirit of the old-school adventure and point and click games, like Monkey Island, The Longest Journey, in those terms Syberia and Broken Sword, among the best known and critically acclaimed in this genre. These games today are unknown to modern gamers, maybe partially because today's gaming media neglects them.
So yes, go for it! To have a game like Syberia 3 release recently, a game that carries so much from the classic vibe of the first two games, is a whole wonder! Syberia 3 really brings the adventure out! An adventure like no other!
So I realize you played this over 2 years ago, but it was so beautiful and I had so much fun watching you play, that I went and bought all 4 games that are out on Steam. I haven't gone to look, but I hope they come out with a 5th game as good as this one was.
I'm big fan of Benoit Sokal and hearing about his death broke me. He created beautfil Syberia, Sinking Island, Paradise, Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals and Amerzone. I heard that Microids will maybe continue Kate's story and hope if they do so, that it will honor Benoit's memory.
I had to wait several days to watch the last 1 and a half hours because I'm not ready for this amazing story to end! I can't believe I have never heard of these games before. The style and design of the environments are just... chefs kiss. And I have to say, Oscar reminds me so much of C3PO.
Thank you so much for this playthrough. I had never heard of this game until you played it! Please please pleeeease play the other ones!!!! I need to indulge in this story further!
I can't wait for the next Syberia game!! I hope Kate finally meets her real grandma and have a wholesome family reunion. Thanks Gab Smolders for playing the game, really enjoyed it :)!
2:49:06 Ukraine & Khazakhstan are close, but still separated by generally speaking the areas of Circassia, Astrakhan, etc. However, Komkolzgrad here is a ref towards Syberia 1 (2003) from what I gather.
Just finished this game. I played syberia 1 and 2 back the.n during my uni with my low spec pc, but yet it become a good game memories. Now, being a 40 years old man, playing this, leaving a very solitude feeling when I complete the game today, thanks Benoit Sokal for this masterpiece.
Omg I love this so much! I must know what happened! I would love to watch you play the others. When you said we might have to wait 2 years my eyes were so big, then 5 years! Hope all is well 🙏🏽 🥰😍
Nice adventure, I played the first episode in 2002 and I loved it. I didn't try to look for the following titles. However, I am delighted to have been able to see this last opus. You played it very smoothly, almost felt like watching a quiet cartoon but full of mysteries and twists. I suspected the ending ( obviously before you did 😉 ) But now I wonder if there will be a sequel with Kate, Dana and Ludwig? The creator of the game passed away in 2021. I hope his team will still have the desire and the possibility to tell us this story of "missing link" that are Ludwig and his family? Oh and Leni, I don't think she was young and naive. Just jealous. And mean. From the beginning she knew that Leon was in love with Dana and she didn't like it. She finally got what she deserved. Thank you for the hours of walking through History and stories I'm still digging through your videos. Have fun, greetings to your cat. Kisses from France 🇫🇷
After waiting over a decade to play Syberia 3, I was left feeling so disappointed in Microids. So much so, that I waited an entire year to watch a let's play of the 4th game. But I'm so glad that I finally got around to it. The 4th game is everything we could have asked for out of the series. From the closure to Kate's well being, to learning about her past, to even the subtle nod at the end, with Kate leaving the idea of New York behind to literally chase a train. The exact way the 1st game ended. Everything about this filled my heart with such immense joy. Gab, if you still haven't played the first 3 games (I tried looking it up, but couldn't find anything), I highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed!
Sitting here in a puddle of dried tears. This game ended up being so much better than I expected it to be. Thank you Gab for convincing me to give it a chance! To be honest, I would be a little terrified if they made another game now that the head creator is no longer with us - just feel it wouldn’t have the same touch. But I’m also desperate to find out if Kate ever finds anything more of Dana! Ack!! I do hope we get to see you play the first two games as well. They’re also wonderful but in a different way. More traditional adventure puzzles and getting to experience Oscar at his finest. (Though I ended up enjoying Hedgehog!Oscar way more than I thought I would!)
I felt the reason for Kate to hunt down the answers, connected to a random drawing of someone who locked like her was a bit weak of a reason. But the story after that was great overall. But why did Olivia deserve an apology? Not an apology, but maybe an explanation. Will probably go back and play the old games again. And probably play this as well to get all the details sorted.
All I think when I hear Gorun is GORON. I guess they are the big foots of the Zelda franchise. Live in mountains, very large man like creature, known for strength. Makes sense!
I know this comment has nothing to do with the game but I just have to say something. I swear every time I am watching a Gab video, my dog also at least listens. I had walked away for a second and left my laptop open and paused on the video and by the time I got back the video was playing again and my dog was calmly paying attention from my bed. This isn't the first time she's done it either. I thought people might enjoy this little anecdot.
In a way... Ludwig is kinda like her Uncle. Never played the game before, but I loooove watching you play. Relaxes me while I work and do my embroidery.
I started watching the playthrough some time ago but couldn't get into it and stopped. I am so glad I decided to give it a second shot because the story was amazing.
I just finished it, after going through the whole four-game series from the beginning of the first one just this month. So I didn't have to wait for any of them! I think they were all fine in their own way. This latest one (which I hope means there will be more!) is exceptionally beautiful. I thought the ending of the third one and then the beginning of the fourth were kind of strange and disturbingly surprising, but then things turned out very well.
0:4:50 @Gab most likely the same reasons like they did for castle wolfenstein etc to be able to sell it in germany and it seems most companies just do one version of the game then for all reagein and not just a specially german version already some time ago since I read the article in a video game print magazine but basically in a very simplyfied way: it is forbidden to use all these symbols, names of groups etc in forms of media except when these media fullfil certain purposes/criteria and for some reason it seems that the movie industry has less problems to do soeven when movies like indiana jones and co not really exactly fulfill these criteria but it is somehow easier for them and the game industry in generell does this way instead of trying prove that they could fulfill these criteria too -> ah found the german term "Sozialadäquanzklausel" it seems some changes happened in the last years going by some google results while I tried finding that term again but not sure if the game industry is adepting or if this game was released before these changes... mfg Olli
I only just started the video so I haven’t gotten to any of the heart wrenching stuff but it’s just so funny to me that that he’d see a different species in a country hundreds of miles from his home and think A) it would speak a human dialect and B) it would be his specific language and not the native language of where they currently are 😂
2:32:45 I just noticed the German troops in this scene use an American M1918 BAR light machinegun. In fact I think the Germans are using American guns in general here.
Please play the other games too Gab! I would love to see Kate's story that lead up to this one! I loved the story and I hope there is another one that tells us what happened after the ending!
I haven’t fully finished the video yet but when the grenade went off I gasped because that could have set the avalanche off. And then gab asked that later and reaffirmed my thought.
45:00 I just wanna say this game is so good! The story the colours the whole imagery is beautiful and it's sucked me right inn I am hoping there's another game after this one that comes out and you'll play it 😊
Leni's ratting them out because of envy and rage during a WAR is similar to how there was a British intelligence agent, Noor Inayat Khan - she built a resistance network in France against the Germans in WW2, was successful and managed to do the undercover operation so well, only to get herself eventually caught because her co-worker's sister was jealous that Noor's charm had made the man she liked fell in love with Noor instead of her.
Crazy.
Oh my god!!!! How can people be that selfish? Disgusting!! My blood boils thinking about it ughhh.

@@AnxietyRat Ahh, thank you! Very good info to add!
I don't think we're going to get a Syberia 5 after this one, Sokal passed away just a few months before the release of this game, so he basically took care of the entire franchise. When Dana started playuing with young Kate, that's what did it for me, I started crying!!!
oh thank god i wasn't the only one :'(
Omfg same. It was emberessing but it was good cry ijbol
Such a beautiful story! So sad the main creator passed away, but I hope the studio can create an epilogue where Kate meets Dana in person again
when the game showed that the entire bit you play as Leon was, indeed, transcribed as a letter as well, my jaw dropped. they spared absolutely no expenses or time to ensure that every tiny detail was there and it resulted in such a beautiful and put together story, I'm actually in awe, what a fantastic game

Catching up on old videos I haven’t seen yet, but I love now we have a Dippin and a Dippy in Gabs play through!
I am SOBBING at the reunion holy cow. Loved this so much. Gab you were the cherry on top
It’s amazing just how many stories are unraveling in this game and the pacing is just so good for it all
1:10:20 "SAM" would be Surface to Air Missle systems. Such systems would've been highly fringe during WW2 and as expected the icon on the map shows a heavy anti-air artillery battery instead. Small detail I noticed.
Loving this series so much! I hope you’d play the whole series of Syberia! But also hoping u to play Dreamfall series, that would be awesome!
That would be awesome!
But I guess she should play, or watch at least a summary of The Longest Journey
YESSS
This was such a great stream! The story is so mysterious. Can't wait for the next part
I love your Nancy Drew play throughs but I’ve really enjoyed watching this, thanks for the upload ☺️❤️!

I love this play through so much, it’s like Nancy drew but spicy. Every man of the woods will henceforth be known as alpine lover 420 😂
The guy who wrote the games passed away...so there probably will never be another game. Unless someone else decides to write it.
Potential spoilers (and guaranteed rambling):
I was pretty sure the Zimmers took the baby even before Leni told Kate about Dana being put to sleep for the birth.
THIS SERIES WAS SO GOOD!!! I want to play the entire saga now, but if you play the first games I'll definitely watch your gameplay

Aww, now I will watch syberia 1 and 2 when you stream and upload them here Gab. Enjoyed every bits on this game ☺️
That was a beautiful game! Thank you for sharing your experience!
This was the most relaxing, charming, and coziest streamvid of yours I think I've seen yet!

Really thought it would turn out to be someone else....
exactly, gave me hope for a second :(
I really hope so too...😭😭😭
What an emotional journey
What a fantastic series! I cant wait to see the first couple of games and I cant wait for the 5th game. This is a hidden gem, thank you so much for sharing with everyone!
If you're going back to point-and-click Syberias then "The Longest Journey" is also worth checking out.
It's about a teenage girl who gets whisked away from her mundane life on future-sciency-earth to a parallel fantasy-earth, and somehow ends up with the job of fixing reality.
It came out around 2000, so it's a bit old, but there's a HD mod that makes it look nice.
So Kate did get to visit her mother's grave after all, just not the one where she's actually buried
That.Was.Awesome! Thanks Gab for this awesome playthrough and for pushing through even with your throat sit.
Thanks for making me discover this game ! The story is incredible and so well written, plus the design is gorgeous ! I'm crossing fingers season 5 is not in 5 years LoL
Oh man this was amazing, I was cheering Kate on to catch that train along with Gab! Thinking 5 years from now, I'd be 36. Wow that is wild 🤣
Is nobody going to mention that the train at the end is heavily inspired by the train Oscar drove in the original 2 Syberia games?
The creator of the Syberia games Benoît Sokal died last year and left behind him a lot of creative worlds as an illustrator and writer. If you like adventure point&clicks I recommend playing Amerzone and Paradise. Like Syberia they take place in fictional/alternative versions of South America and Africa, Amerzone especially is a classic of french/belgian adventure games and it's available on Steam.
this series has ancient music that can “curse” people, mammoths, giant ships made out of ivory, Dog-Seal hybrid and highly advanced automatons and yet it still feels grounded and i Love it
This game has been a lovely experience! I'm so glad I chose to watch it. The story was so interesting, and the visuals were gorgeous.
I really enjoyed this walkthrough! The game had tearing up more then once. Hope, you'll do other parts too.
He created beautfil Syberia, Sinking Island, Paradise,
Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals and Amerzone.
I suspected the ending ( obviously before you did 😉 )
But now I wonder if there will be a sequel with Kate, Dana and Ludwig?
The creator of the game passed away in 2021. I hope his team will still have the desire and the possibility to tell us this story of "missing link" that are Ludwig and his family?
Oh and Leni, I don't think she was young and naive. Just jealous. And mean.
From the beginning she knew that Leon was in love with Dana and she didn't like it. She finally got what she deserved.
Thank you for the hours of walking through History and stories
I'm still digging through your videos.
Have fun, greetings to your cat.
Kisses from France 🇫🇷
i am so here for all syberia games being played
The first two games are phenomenal and are brimming with personality and atmosphere. Definitely recommended!
absolutely loved this, thank you!
Gosh I hope you play the previous ones - this game was soooo gripping. Thanks for this playthrough!!!
This was such a wild journey! I can't wait to see you play the first 3 games ❤
(Though I ended up enjoying Hedgehog!Oscar way more than I thought I would!)
this was so much fun, i would love to see you play the other parts! the story was amezing en it looked so pretty🥰
Still funny when Ludwig says his name is Ludwig Hardtack, Hardtack is the name on the box of cookies. So cute
I think this is one of the best stories in a game i have ever seen
I know "walker" is a very common last name, but it's kinda cool to see my last name in a game lol
Good video ♡
I felt the reason for Kate to hunt down the answers, connected to a random drawing of someone who locked like her was a bit weak of a reason. But the story after that was great overall. But why did Olivia deserve an apology? Not an apology, but maybe an explanation. Will probably go back and play the old games again. And probably play this as well to get all the details sorted.
All I think when I hear Gorun is GORON. I guess they are the big foots of the Zelda franchise. Live in mountains, very large man like creature, known for strength. Makes sense!
SAME hahaha
Such a good story and gameplay! Time to wait for the next one
Oh heck yeah! Another off day, another video to watch whooooohooooo!
Awesome ending, all the threads coming tog- OH! is that cheese!!!
So excited to watch the others!!
I started watching the playthrough some time ago but couldn't get into it and stopped. I am so glad I decided to give it a second shot because the story was amazing.

THIS WAS SO GOOD I JUST CANT.. OH MY GOD
見てて、なんかこのGabさんの雰囲気おれ知ってるぞ?ってふと思ったんですけど、髪型が夜廻三のガブっぽい!

0:4:50 @Gab most likely the same reasons like they did for castle wolfenstein etc to be able to sell it in germany and it seems most companies just do one version of the game then for all reagein and not just a specially german version
already some time ago since I read the article in a video game print magazine but basically in a very simplyfied way: it is forbidden to use all these symbols, names of groups etc in forms of media except when these media fullfil certain purposes/criteria and for some reason it seems that the movie industry has less problems to do soeven when movies like indiana jones and co not really exactly fulfill these criteria but it is somehow easier for them and the game industry in generell does this way instead of trying prove that they could fulfill these criteria too
-> ah found the german term "Sozialadäquanzklausel" it seems some changes happened in the last years going by some google results while I tried finding that term again but not sure if the game industry is adepting or if this game was released before these changes...

I loved watching this play through!
Please play the other games too Gab! I would love to see Kate's story that lead up to this one! I loved the story and I hope there is another one that tells us what happened after the ending!
I would love if you played the other Syberia games! I remember playing the 1st one back in the day and really enjoying it.
I haven’t fully finished the video yet but when the grenade went off I gasped because that could have set the avalanche off. And then gab asked that later and reaffirmed my thought.
I love every moment of this game please play the other ones!!!
