Sleeping Above A Cliff In A Portaledge At 1500 Meters Altitude | Axel On The Edge
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 жов 2024
- An overnight stay on the portaledge, a special kind of tent for steep rock walls, will definitely test that fear. Euromaxx reporter Axel Primavesi summoned all his courage, went to the Urlkopf mountain in the northern part of Austria and suspended himself over the abyss for one night.

This guy is insane! No hair but lots of courage!
LOL
Years of hair raising experiences must have taken its toll
yeah mahnnn
He scared it away
He sacrificed it for courage
puts a whole new meaning on 'getting out on the wrong side of the bed'
When you wake up and realize your falling 500 feet 😱
Foul
@@Tyler-ce3um aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
When you wake up to find yourself hanging underneath
I would never sleep like this, but that view is incredible. This video is a great reminder that earth is full of amazing places!
For me it stands out more that Earth is full of amazing people 🤯
Wud u carry a gun ?
I have extreme acrophobia (fear of heights). I had to look away when they showed your pov looking down.
I could never get any wear near the edge of that cliff.
I salute your craziness, bravery and calmness to do this. 😁
Same I start sweating and getting anxiety so bad whole video
Wear.
@@chrisclarke7828 😅😅 stupid autocorrect
❤❤❤
So fearless! I could not even get near the edge of that cliff, I'd be deathly afraid. But, it's nice to see others have a sense of adventure and boldness; I'd never see such a sight if it weren't for these brave spirits!
Every time he looked straight down it felt like I was falling, nope, nope, never. What a brave and genuine man, kudos to you
Jesus..just their feet dangling off the side is making me incredibly nervous. Why is he so close to the edge when sleeping???!!!!!
@CAPELLASAMPIERE Guess it is the most stable sleeping position, because his weight presses the construction much stronger against the wall (lever as a force multiplyer #physics)
My hands are sweating just watching this 😱
Exactly
They are safely tide in, there is zero risk of death. I have a serious fear of heights but if I could concur this I think all fears would disappear
@@dweuromaxx Yeah but what about falling off the edge
Not 5 star but maybe millions of stars
100% agree with you. There’s no place much beautiful as this place.
The teddy bear was adorable lol. Such a small yet comforting thing can really make a person feel safe.
I've seen climbers use completely enclosed tents when sleeping on the side of a mountain, but an open one like this? Madness!
Truly. What if the person your sleeping with is a kicker?
@@ByHisGrace443 worst case scenario you fall and get caught by the rope
It's just the rain fly that enclosure the ledge that makes it looks like a tent. It's the same ledge
I could never do this! My palms were sweating just watching this episode. 😬
Same ✋
Buut in my head i would think that after a while the view would distract me from the fact that it was so high
Sweaty plams and sandy trunks! What a combination.
Well, that's cured my constipation
My palms also . Plus I think I peed a little bit .
if I was sitting on the edge like that I'd pass out and fall off.
😂😭😭
cant fall off, still in harnes!
@@filda2005 i would take the harness of and then fall off
I'd find a way to fall off no matter how strapped in I was - worst case I'd accidentally pull the mountain over
No matter the harness the funniest thing is i didnt realize they were harnessed in, i assumed they freeballed and laid there. OMG
Im so scared of heights theres really no word to describe what videos like this do to me. I start pouring sweat, hands sweat, I almost cant look at the screen. Axel, you're a news reporter how the heck can you handle these heights? By the way, your parents chose an excellent name, if we have a son we may choose "Aksel".
I'm the same way. I had to skip through this thing. Man, I don't know how people do this sorta stuff.
I'm surprised this doesn't have more likes - beautifully shot (kudos to the cameraperson), thoughtfully executed, and portrayed well for many of us that would never have such an opportunity, even if we were so inclined!
Thank you! 💙
I am watching in TV no like avaible
Alex is fearless. The cliff hanger guy is cool, he brought coffee for him and both bird's eye view the whole place. Incredible experience and the stunning views.
@gearzone2611 We call him "Axel the Brave".. 😉
My concern is getting up at night to go to the bathroom !
Same
@Mitchnell Green One should hang up two more portaledges for Axel - one as a bathroom and another one as a kitchen, in case Axel feels like having milk and cookies at night...
😳🥴🚽😊🥛🍪
just do it over the side
@@jima9863 imagine trekking in a forest and a pile of shit falls on you out of nowhere
@@fieldfrost4220 You look up to see where the fuck it came from and you just see this dude hanging his bare ass off the side of a cliff
This guy is one of the most likeable reporters I ever watched! Great stuff!
Cant get enough of this guys adventures!! What a life.
First night for him outside and first night on a portal edge. Respect to this man!
I couldn’t do that. But, you’re right, the view would be fantastic.
Respect for this guy. He said he is scared but he just did it like it was easy asf
Pretty cool honestly.
As a kid I used to make little spots up in the trees in the woods, pretending that i was doing stuff like this.
It was particularly easy for me because a hurricane had rolled through one summer, knocked down a bunch of trees, creating an easy "ramp" to get to the trees that weren't knocked down.
I wouldn't mind trying this one day though.
I'm so happy to have found this channel... I'm very scared of heights and would never do these things. It's great to watch someone who is a little scared try this crazy sh@t. Cheers bud.
This is inspiring. I used to climb. Doing this with my oldest son and the help of experienced guides would be such a cool thing to do as a father son experience!
The most amazing part of this video to me is the little villages down in the valleys. How does one even find themselves living in a place like this?
In 1983 i was 18 and we did Longs Peak in Colorado and naturally hung our feet over the 2.4k foot cliff over looking Chasm Lake. My feet still tingle.
Yikes! Try not to ROLL off the wrong side of the bed!
Everytime he would look over the edge I could feel my heart sink into my body.
I don't think I could pull that off. Nice job at handling your nerves and making it comfortable for you.
YES! I would do this in a heart beat. The adrenalin, the fresh air and breathtaking view would be something I'd never forget 🙂
As a person who used to fear heights until I did roofing for a year and realized how much I love heights. I’d love this
These cameras shots are something else!
Imagine trying to sleep withouth harness. A potential switching of sleeping sides could result in a nice plunge to ones death.
This is absolutely going on the bucket list
wow very exciting sleeping way
Wow what courage to do that. My heart was thumping with nervousness just watching and hearing you say at 3:11 that you didn't think this was a good idea
Why is he so damn close to the edge?! I almost had a heart attack
Love the way he says; 'it would be a little bit dangerous.' Ha ha, it would be the end if it all. Splendid view.
3:47 good god I tilted my phone to the right to prevent him from falling
That’s funny 😆
2:16 That’s always reassuring
no way man. I would be awake all night!
I saw toda this movie on TV on WORLD.
Very courageous for a guy who didn't sleep outside till now.
In my younger years, I would have loved to have tried this. Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, I eventually developed a keen fear of heights. Where before, I could sit with my legs dangling off a cliff, now I can't even get near the edge. Such a pity, getting this fear.
I beat this fear on psychedelics definitely just telling me its all made from my mind and that i was fully in control of my body just as if i was on a dry flat easy walk , the thing is, when you're near a cliff, you cant think about anything else, or you might die, it becomes some kind of meditation and I absolutely love it
immediately on the bucket list
is it just me thinking about how the camera man recorded this
The cameraman probably enable noclip
Drones maybe
0:54 is my worst nightmare. My brain wouldn’t even trust my legs to get that close and if I pushed through one look down would have crawl back out of fear of losing balance. I’m always amazed how any person would not be afraid of heights!
My adrenalin just kick in. That's addictive, after several injuries. I just want to sit down like a dry fruit in the summertime.
Now this is living! I wish i had the courage to do these types of things. I need to face my fears !!
All I could think of was a blunt & coffee in the morning watching the sunrise or a blunt at night watching the stars.
Yes, the blunt is a must.
So basically all you can think of is a blunt 😂
@@MrGrace ain’t nothing wrong w that I don’t wanna think bout bills
Yes I would sleep there, I think it would be a great experience to be able to watch the night sky and experience the morning sunrise, especially with that coffee. Well done
Absolutely!
EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to have that coffee on the cliff side when there’s no bathroom 🚽 nearby.
just piss over the edge like a real man
@@manchiststechnicolourarchi5606 Its not number 1 hes talking about lol
Lmao
@@stephaniesanchez7321 Can still do that over the edge.
The whole aspect of this scares the bejesus out of me but ultimate respect for you and you got a early morning call with a cuppa ! 👍👍👍
Axel has a wonderful laugh!
there ıs no words to say something . just amazing what you done man
The little bear was all safe too😂
1st time sleeping outdoors. What an experience. This guy has guts
Here's me trying to get over my fear of heights and nearly passing out just watching this 🤢
Props to the cameraman
I would have nightmares! Whoever sleeps there is the bravest of souls.
He slept on the very edge of the bed
I give you a lot of credit ! That takes a lot of guts. I suffer from vertigo more as I get older, but would love to sleep on the top of the mountain at the summit under the stars. Usually when I have camped in the past, I sleep pretty well outside. Great video! I saw you video about the Stairway to Heaven rope bridge. That was insane !! LOL.
@Dave Lynch Thanks Dave!
This is what "Your life is on the line" really means
Watching itself is breath taking for me.
I like his laugh "HA HA HA" im gonna start laughing like this in zoom calls whenever my colleagues make bad jokes
I have dizziness and butterflies in my stomach just looking at this vid.
Stunning view, but not something that I would consider doing.
No words to express to this Warriors of Boldness .They fighters ,they fight against part of Nature and they won.Amazed
There is no way in hell, I can sleep like this, I’m so terrified on heights 😅
SAME 😄
Axel, you are definitely brave with doing this. I’d be really scared doing this, though I must say that the views are amazing
I think you r great. I LOVE your sleeping companion
To open your eyes in the morning to that view. What an experience!
It really is!
I bet if I spend a night in that place, I definitely lose all my hair because scare.
imagine you get that falling feeling right as you’re falling asleep
Uncomfortable even just watching this, and I am not exagerated affraid of heights. I mean, I walk up a 1900 meter mountain solo. But these kind of things is really not my cop of tea hahah.
Something to try as a vacation
I will never understand why people do this.
This is insane! These are only really used for rock climbers, and every time I told someone about them, people always say, NOOOOOO! So for this guy to literally lower himself down a cliff JUST to do this, I have mad respect for!
"Sleeping In A Portaledge Above A Cliff At 1500 Meters Altitude"
*How about no*
There isn't a word strong enough to convey the amount of NOPE I'm feeling.
I get second-hand fear just watching these! Beautiful views, you're one brave man
I'm an old fashion guy, I like to sleep on solid ground.
I couldn't stand on my feet while watching your video 😂, thanks for sharing ❤️
You really have to be wired differently to do this stuff. I feel sick just watching! 😮
Well done my brother well done. Impressive courage.
I would do it for the view.
Wow what an wonderful experience he might had experienced, I am scared of heights and also weak hearted too. But enjoyed the video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Immediately no
Bravo my friend 👏 Truly inspiring 👍
This makes no sense... why on earth does anyone need to hang them selves mid cliff to sleep the night? Whats next sleep a third of the way down a well pit? Its almost like we ran out interesting things to do on our earth...
Adrenaline
Excellent!
Rare experience.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I need to try this one day
How strong are the ropes like how much weight can it hold?
My Anxiety level just went sky high watching this video. Hats off to both of them for being so brave and daring. Stay safe🙏
How does this not have 50 millions views, let alone 1 million
I'm afraid to leave my office desk chair now without crawling to the ground. Thanks. I wouldn't sleep on that thing if it were a foot off the ground. Do they make a mattress with box spring version, mid-firm?
Awesome!
awesome video guys, thanks for sharing your story
5:48 I wonder what's that music. It's really nice.
Awesome drone footage
wow, I will be really scared to sleep there :))) Great video 👍🏻
I would love to do that!!
