Best Non-Alcoholic Beer Ever? Lagunitas IPNA Review.

- While we haven't sampled a lot of non-alcoholic beers, the market is rapidly growing for people looking for a great-tasting non-alcoholic beer that actually tastes like, well beer! Lagunitas is taking that challenge even further, with the introduction of their IPNA non-alcoholic IPA.
In their words:
"IPNA is a brewer-led labor of love, taking over a year to perfect. Inspired by Lagunitas’ love of hops and our brewery flagship, this non-alcoholic IPA is brewed with the same ingredients found in our highly-balanced IPAs (hops, malt, yeast & water), and thus the same hoppy deliciousness, but brewed without the ceremonial fez & ancient incantations that take it over the edge. Crafted with the highest quality malts and massive dry-hop of our favorite Yakima Valley hops-Citra, Mosaic & CTZ (Columbus, Tomahawk & Zeus for those acronym-averse)-giving it a uniquely-full body and crazy-big hoppy aroma. Our brewers worked hard to remove the alcohol while keeping the satisfying flavor experience."
So did Lagunitas pull it off? Check out our video and we will let you know! Cheers!

Great review on a non alcohol beer Todd and Andy , i was drinking a lot of that when i was younger. almost tasted the same. really nice on a hot day at school :D
Much love to you guys
That's really cool Ann! Now that we tried this NA beer we want to look for more that may be better..already people are letting us know of other NA beers we should try. Cheers to our favorite Norweigan!
Ever? No idea, haven't tried many others but I quit alcohol about 7 weeks ago and discovered this IPNA about 3 weeks ago. It is very satisfying and definitely reduces my alcohol craving in the evenings. Thumbs up!
Thanks for watching! This video is a bit old, and since we've shot it, we've discovered there are plenty of good NA beers out there. If you like IPA's, Athletic and Untitled Art are good and worth trying. Hope all is well and cheers!
Great video and much appreciated on a brew channel. Has to be difficult to compare with alcohol products to those without. I hope you continue this series to show others that may be available. Speaks volumes you finished it despite the protests too. Cheers!
You have to try Athletic Brewing Co, Run Wild. I'm def a fan. I'm also a fan of hop water from Lagunitas. Cheers
You are like the 5th person to tell us that Clinton! So we will have to get some Athletic Run Wild to try as well as the hop water. Cheers buddy!
Great review 👍 I've never had a NA beer, but may have to give this one a try 🤘 Cheers
Thanks, Shane...have to admit we are not huge fans of NA beer... as they usually don't come close to tasting like actual beer, but we love Lagunitas and had to try this. There is definitely a weird after-taste with this one (I got cardboard, which is not good), but for a NA beer that looks and smells great, this isn't horrible...not great or even good, but better than macro NA beers. Cheers, buddy!
Great review! I need to switch over to those at some point in the after parties...LOL! Rock on!
Haha well not this one as it does have a bunch of hops in it...you need a nice NA Lager of some sort for the after-parties! lol Cheers Jimmy and Rock on brother!
very good review- try this ice cold out of the bottle. This will grow on you. After a few weeks a leaded beer gets a bit lost in the alcohol. there is a reason why this category is exploding. Try Barrel Brothers' NA Juicy next - it's from the same area and it's Hazy AF (alcohol free, mind out of gutter). Many of us are finding the new NA's as a huge help in cutting back on alcohol and /or quitting alcohol.
Hey Ray! Thanks again for coming over from FB and watching and commenting on our video. Yes ice cold would be great for this one and we now are going to seek out these other NA beers you and others have mentioned to really see which is the best! Thanks again Ray and come back soon! Cheers!
NA beer is for us 18-20 year old “adults” that got our rights stripped from us from bitches called “MADD”
Interesting idea to use hops to mask the lack of alcohol.
exactly Joe...we thought that would help...but man the after taste and finish on this was like cardboard, which I not good obviously! lol Cheers man!
You guys gotta try the stuff Athletic Brewing is making. Sick.
He there Oak Ridge! That is what we have heard, do you know if they are distributed nationwide? Cheers and thanks for watching.
What I want to know is does it still give you the relaxed, cool and calm feeling that the hops in most ipa's usually give you?
It has been a while since we reviewed this but the hope profile is there for sure, but there is a very weird after taste and of course the mouthfeel is nonexistent.
I Believe that the people who only drink NA's appreciate NA'a more than anyone.. I wonder if any of the people that are testing these out are actually sober..? Because if you're not you're probably never going to enjoy the flavor/effect as much..
Recently quit drinking and have been craving the taste of beer. Bought some O’douls, and that doesn’t do it for me. But this tricked my taste buds enough. It’s actually pretty good for a NA beer.
Hey Daniel, that's awesome and we need to revist some of the better NA beers out there. Stay tuned and cheers!
I just drank one of these and thought it was pretty terrible. I'm thinking something might be wrong with the 6 pack I got, because when I poured it there was absolutely no head like i see yours has on the video. But it doesn't taste flat, it just tastes bad. It has the tangy, bubbly feel of a seltzer with a very odd hop taste. As if they took some carbonated water and poured in a half shot of hoppy beer flavoring.
I have to say I'm really surprised that this is a Lagunitas product. I don't know where you're located or if they have distribution outside of Texas, but Karbach Free & Easy N/A IPA is very good. It tastes like a real IPA, although you can still tell a little something is missing. I guess that'll be the case with all NA beers, but it's as close as I figure an NA beer can come to being really tasty. Cheers!
Not sure how much exposure to Brewdog you guys get over there but here in the UK they are really leading the charge. They have a series of beers that are alcohol free (AF) equivalents of their normal alcoholic beers. They play on the whole Punk AF (as fuck) wordplay. Some of their AF beers are really getting quite close to being hard to distinguish. They have started doing stouts as well as west coast and NEIPAs. They have even created a Brewdog AF bar in London.
Hey there Mick. I think Brewdog is distributed to a few places here in Maryland see we will be sure to look for that one as many have mentioned that is being a really good NA beer. That is really cool they also doing NA stouts and West Coast IPA's! Cheers and hope to see you back soon!
Athletic Brewing!!! that's the most legit!
That's what we have heard and need to try.and review! Cheers and Rock On!
I agree with this, I actually dont mind .... Beer saints forgive me for what I am about to say ... Budweiser Zero.
It taste like a really close Bud light. I hear the Heineken NA Beer is pretty good.
I do recommend trying Lagunitas HOP water....that stuff is amazing.
haha we need to try the Bud Zero now. In fact, this whole process has made us want to try more NA products just to see if any are actually good. Cheers buddy!
@@2TEN90 Oh yeah same, I already have a few planned. I actually found a NA Fruited Milk Shake Sour that was amazing. Probably like 500 cal so kinda defeats the purpose. Still tasted great
@@HopsAndBrews Thats awesome Jon. Did you do a review of it for your channel?
It's still loaded with carbs... 18g ... i bought this because i read somewhere online it has zero grams of carbs. (Don't believe everything you read online). It's ok... i put some tomato juice into it and i liked it better. I'm a straight up Lagunitas IPA drinker. The only benefit for me is that the alcohol is almost missing. It's an ok non-alcoholic choice, but the carbs are crazy!
Thanks for the comments, Carolynn! This isn't a world we've delved too far into, but I'm assuming there has be better tasting and healthier (to an extent) choices. We've discussed giving a few others a try to see how it compares. As for their regular IPA, good choice... they make excellent brews! Cheers
@@2TEN90 I like the regular too. After a few days I've decided i really don't prefer the IPNA at all.
But i tried!! Have a great day and best wishes.
I drank only IPAs for years. Then quit drinking. Tried many NA beers…the only IPNAs that I like are from Athletic brewing, esp the hazy. And Heineken for some reason.
This one did smell great, but tasted like slightly flavored sparkling water. Not gross, just boring.
We need to review some Athletic Brewkng NA beers...everyone says they are the best!
Athletic Brewing Company makes great NA’s out of SanDiego
That's what we have heard and are looming to get some to review! Thanks for the comment and watching! Cheers and Happy New Year's!
Sorry, but this was terrible. I don't think I finished the first 4, & I know the last 2 out of the sixpack went down the drain. Later dudes!
haha Dickey I can see why..The after taste for us just was not right. Like we said cardboard. But it wasn't a drain pour (for what it is) for us. But we won't be purchasing again. I do want to try some other NA beers that people have now told us are much better than IPNA. Cheers, buddy!
Sorry but craft NA beers are sick & wrong. The liver is bad & must be punished. Ha! Cheers fellas.
HAHA Mike....we are on a quest to actually find an NA beer that tastes good! Cheers buddy!
