One of the few times a remake was good enough to stand on its own two legs. Both the classic and this remake are a great way to waste a couple hours eating popcorn.
Why don't all you people go and watch the real original film, the seven samurai directed by Akira Kurosawa, one of the greatest directors to ever live. This film was ripped off by the Italians and twice by the Americans and it was only Kurosawa who acknowledged that the inspiration for the film is the seven samurai came from the American novel, Red harvest, written by one of our great pulp detective story writers, dashiel Hammett
I loved this movie! Chris Pratt as a Cowboy/card shark/lover was excellent! Loved all seven characters! I bought it so I can watch it whenever I want to!
Shit..when he put his holster down on the ground. I would be like he's got a good for me.and I would have said, I quit.he called my bluff.live to see another day.🤣
When I was a teenager I practiced throwing darts in the garage at a box the size of a refrigerator. I had drawn targets on the box. I threw the darts different ways. I got pretty good at hitting the targets.
@ : That is good accuracy. Were you inspired to do it after seeing movies where the actors threw knives? Did you ever see the Johnny Carson TV show where a guest (Ed Ames) demonstrates how to throw a Tomahawk? It landed a little low on the drawing of a person. Became a comedy sketch. I think I was going to use a knife but mom said no so I used the dart.
All these cowboy pistol gunslingers could't hit a watermelon at 50 paces. Pistol barrels are too short. When ammo powder ignites, it's still traveling well beyond the barrel and disturbing the bullet's trajectory. No matter how good a pistol slinger thinks he is.
An underrated scene that includes some of the budo philosophy that Kirosawa had in the original "Seven Samurai" epic. The problem with delusional characters is that they believe their own lies, so they're not quite ready for an early grave. On the other hand the warrior stands reconciled to his fate, hence why he wastes no breath on pointless childish name calling, fully focused on the moment. A scene that says more than it shows. In this case his friends didn't even like him. Notice!! They even cheered him to his surprised pointless ego driven death.
@guntergrap3472 The biggest outrage was "I Spy, with Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson and absolutely insulting to black civil rights. I am now 72. In the 1965 when I Spy came out the team of Culp and Cosby was groundbreaking. I remember seeing blacks lynched on the news as a kid. In I Spy Bill Cosby was a Rhodes Scholar and was totally fluent in 6 languages while blacks were still called "boy" or worse. Culp and Cosby were like brothers and either would die for the other one. Both were handsome, charismatic, tough, great fighters and the black guy got the girl sometimes so a huge step forward. Now Murphy is a goofy boxer and Owen Wilson is his goofy partner. The guy that wrote this garbage should never be allowed to write again. A true abortion when compared to the original. Murphy should be ashamed!
Who said don't bring a knife to a gun fight..😂
That still stands. The bully brought a gun to a knife fight.
Sean Connery.

The Italians ripped off The 7 Samurai?
I remember Yojimbo being ripped off by Leone and The Hidden Fortress by George Lucas.
This was a very good movie. Agreed 🎉that this remake stood on its own.

Standing sideways presents a smaller target. If you get hit, it could be in both the lungs or both Kidneys.
Very true
Either way if you got hit in the lung or kidney then you were done.

Size of a fridge, you say? Not a good enough shot to hit a dartboard- which is the size of a microwave?
You should read before you post. He drew targets on the fridge box and got good at hitting those targets.@@rossbrumby1957
Did the same, but with knives, could stick a 2×4 wallstud from 8-10 feet ( after a lot of Practice)

You really are so self obsessed. He’s simply saying that UA-cam won’t allow the word in comments.

Very good movie!!
Didn’t know Carrol O’Connor starred in The Magnificent Seven. He shouldn’t have challenged Billy; too bad Billy had to take him out.
Sometimes it's just best to keep your mouth shut 🤨 He won't have that problem anymore 🤷
What's the title sir?

False.
🤣
Don't try that out in real life ok?
Stay at home boy if you can't afford the ammo to practice or if you're just a lousy shot.
That would explain people shooting coins out the air
... uhhh ... because they are not a watermellon. 😂
A dual is also only 20 paces, 10 each.
Original is best.
The original didn't have Private Pyle from Platoon in it though.
The original is classic, well acted. This remake stands equal, more raw.
These gun slingers was about that life

What an abysmal movie and Insult to the original. The shooting scenes were absurd at best whereas the originals were far more realistic.
