What a rouxmarkable solve! Huge congrats to Sean Patrick on this insane and well-deserved WR. And thanks for the rouxconstruction, can't wait for the livestream tomorrow.
This is an unproven myth that continues to get promulgated. The physics and physiology of smaller hands is advantageous for speedcubing. The more likely explanation is that it takes longer to develop the skills for the bigger cubes. They are dominating at the smaller cubes because they get the skills and then the smaller hands have the torque, lever, and physiology advantages.
this is insane.. roux was used for both oh wrs and used to win oh in the world championship now theres 3 people that has wr potential sean, fahmi and koda THE ROUXVOLUTION IS HERE!!!

It really was a great explanation! The only part of the solution that wasn’t explained was edge orientation, but eo wasn’t anything special so it didn’t bother me

Sean has lowered the time to almost sub 6! Literally a few years ago that was a super good 3x3 time. Also according to jperm your OH times should be 2x your 3x3 times so this is almost sub 3 in that sense!
antonio kam, I'm pretty sure, has his OH times matching or faster than his 2H times; not only does this break the assumption of "twice your 2H times", it essentially invalidates the statement altogether.
I know that "happy dude" haha. He's kuya mav (and yes, he's also REALLY good at OH. nr 7/wr123 on avg) He's also a really nice and cool dude lol. shout out to him!
I’ve been saying this for 3+ years now… mostly because fahmi absolutely OWNS OH uwrs (sub 4 singles is insane). I think roux might be the best overall and the highest level of cubing that I can forsee right now is an incredibly abstract, advanced combination of roux and cfop/zb techniques to minmax on every scramble. by the end of the decade, f2l will be so freeform and high-level, especially with how good lookahead has gotten, that the line between completing the cross and pairs will blur until it’s not even there. the future of speedcubing belongs to people who master these concepts, and raw tps will cap out and even wane a bit as such insane levels of efficiency become required to push 3x3 lower. what can be done with this simple puzzle is truly infinite, and it’s why I’ve solved it tens of thousands of times without ever getting bored
@@nape6625 Fahmi only goes to competitions near where they live, so they compete way less frequently than most world class cubers. because of this, nerves are a big problem. A lot of people get slower times in competition than at home.
@@vuovdiii idk, I’m generally a nervous person, but I attended 1 comp and got the results strongly resembling my global. @@nape6625 It wouldn’t surprise me if they were fake as the times are pretty unbelievable, but the solves themselves make sense and are far from impossible if/when we see roux pushed to that highest level
Sean truly showed the world what the Roux method could do, lately I've been thinking that Roux is slowly started to fade away from the top CFOP speedcubers who use zbll, but Sean proved that wasn't over yet. Long live the Rouxvolution!
I don't see kids taking over OH honestly, they're really good at tps and big alg sets but I think the creativity needed for first block especially would be a barrier for most of them
I WAS IN THAT COMP!!!! tho me and my friends already left by the time the wr happened unfortunately LMAO we found out when we were eating at a nearby restaurant and someone texted him
I think Antoine cantin said that the Chinese coach's only really have the kids practice events that are popular in China. And apparently OH isn't that popular there
Honestly, the solve wasn't even close to perfect. He lucked out with the CMLL skip, but he kinda messed up on the LSE which could've been just 9 moves (easily doable sub-2, or even sub-1.5). We should be lucky Sean didn't absolutely OBLITERATE the WR.
Tbh, I think a method made for OH should be created. I've been working on one myself, its basically 2gen reduction. Roux is pretty close to being the optimal OH method, but I think there is a much better way.

Interesting rules, why they allow the examination by two hands for a one handed competition?? Why they allow to use the table for a one handed solution ? I would not allow these, and also not to use chairs or other facilities in the room at a one handed solve, otherwise it is a quite pointless category.

Hand size is what keeps the children away from OH and big cubes. They first dominate pyra, 2^3, and 3^3, then graduate upward.
