The plant you aren't sure about look like lychnis coronaria (rose campion). Lambs ears are a bigger leaf I think. 👍 The shed wood can be recycled for other things as can the dustbin. I look forward to following your progress. Thanks for sharing 😊
New subscriber here...love flowers and growing veggies. That collection of plants you have growing may be lambs ears...Big clumps of soft furry leaves and pinky/purple flowers loved by bees 🐝 Easy annuals I recommend:Nigella,Snapdragon, cosmos, cornflowers,Ami major, sweet peas...for starters😁 Look forward to following your journey😊....hope the weather is sunnier for us gardeners this year👍
Hi Claire! Thank you for the recommendations, I had forgotten about nigella but I do remember it in the garden as a child (and my family weren't green fingered) so that's on the list! Yes, I'm hoping for a good gardening year for us all 🌱💐
I’m so pleased to have found your channel and can’t wait to follow along! I’ve had my allotment for one year and grew mostly edibles. But for my second year I’m turning the plot into a cut flower farm. I’m growing daffodils, tulips, achillia, amaranthus, ammi, asters, astrantia, celosia, chrysanthemums, cosmos, dahlias, strawflowers, feverfew, foxgloves, limonium, marigold, phlox, poppies, ranunculus, roses, rudbeckia, salvia, scabiosa, sedum, snapdragons, statice, stocks, sunflowers, sweet peas & zinnias. As well as a few grasses and filler foliage. Quite the challenge for my first year, but I’m so excited!
Hi Sophie! That sounds like a great list, I may be taking some ideas from that 🌼 also, who doesn't like a challenge! Fingers crossed for a good gardening year 🌱🤞
Hi Nicole. Looking forward to following your adventures. You are very lucky to be able to concentrate on cut flowers - out tenancy agreement only allows a smallish percentage for flower cultivation: 15 or 20% from memory. Enjoy experimenting with different flowers - so much to choose from 😊.
@@StevenCollins-u4m Hi Steve! Yes we're very lucky at this site for this among many other reasons! So many flowers to choose from, too many at the moment! 🌱💐
It’s actually better than a lot of allotment that have been left. I would definitely give the medlar a big prune. 3:39 are they lambs ears? They have beautiful pink flowers but can be invasive. Lots to do but hey that’s gardening and we rise to the challenge. Do you mind my asking your first name I’ll pass on the channel 👍. Happy New Year here’s to some fantastic garden memories, Ali 🌞🥶🇨🇦
Hi Ali! Happy new year to you too 🌱 ah thanks for the tip, Lambs Ears! Not heard of it before but now I have at least 12 😂 yes, the medlar certainly needs a prune and is something I've not done before so wish me luck! Its Nicole 😊🌱
Hi Pete! It always feels like a funny time of year to take on an allotment but at least we can start planning ahead! Hoping we all have a good gardening year this year 🌱🤞
Wonderful plot❤ Love your plans. I think Lambsear is the plant...nice as a edging plant😊 My fav cuts are Zinnias Cosmos Verbena and of course Dahlias❤ Happy New Year🎉 Hugs from a Norwegian channel 😂
Hi Unni! I think the lambs ear may well earn it's place at the very least as ground cover as it clearly likes this plot and I really don't like weeding 😂 Happy new year to you too 🌱☀️
Looking forward to seeing how you progress over the year! Good luck! I have really become obsessed with dahlias. Just ordered a load of new tubers from Farmer Gracy. I’m trialing leaving some of this years tubers in the ground over the winter with a thick mulch for protection.
Hi Matthew, I have to admit that although I said I would focus on annuals, a few dahlias have made their way into my Farmer Gracy basket too! I'd love to know the results you get by leaving your dahlias in the ground, I have to say that is my kind of gardening! 🌱🌼
Make sure you grow/buy plants for autumn colours, Dahlia, rudbeckia, echinacea, sedum, That's a group of flowers that i didn't grow at first when i had my garden, and there was a definite gap in flowers without them. I just found your channel and subscribed.
Hi Nicole, new subscriber here. I too am from Yorkshire and have just recently taking on an allotment so it will be interesting to follow your journey. I’m new(ish) to the veg growing as I was more into growing cut flowers. The plants you were unsure of could be Lambs Ears as Ali suggested but they also look like a plant I grow which is Lychnis Coronaria (Rose Campion) and they’re either pink or white. These are good for cut flowers and they’re perennial and spread very easily. I’ve got a few recommendations for people to follow for growing cut flowers if you’re interested. Deb
Hi Deb! Congrats on the allotment plot, exciting times ahead! That's another good shout, I think I will try and relocate them for this year and see what they do, free plants would be amazing 💐 I would love any recommendations on who I can take some inspiration from so yes please 🌱🌼
Just found you! Am subbing, thankyou for a great video, thoroughly enjoyed watching it
Hi Tilly! Thanks for the sub 🌱🌼
Your garden looks great♦ Good space to grow things in☺

Hi Pat! I'm really hoping it's a Rose Campion as they look very pretty! I'll have to wait until it starts to flower and see what I've got 🌱🤞

You could build your compost bins out of salvegable wood from the shed 🙂
Hi Susie! That's a fantastic idea! I will definitely look at how I can make that work! 🌱🏚️
