I sang this for my callback for the school musical. We're doing the same musical this songs from (Guys and Dolls) so I thought it was a good choice (Also considering I really wanted to be Adelaide). Only was cast as a chorus member, but enjoyed singing some of this.
If this is an amateur performance, I think this is very very good. Ok, one dodgy note at the end, but I love her facial expressions, which are also reflected in the way uses her voice. The most important thing about Adelaide is personality, not vocals and I think this actress has both :-)
We're doing this as part of a medley called Leading Ladies. I'm watching videos to get ideas for the accent. She's got the perfect voice; but the accent's missing!
A great performance with neglected blocking and choreography! Why does the director have her sit for two solid minutes, then get up and pace for another minute and a half on a nearly dark stage? ZZZZZZZZZ
The Adelaide at my high school this year was AMAZING. No offence, because this girl does have a lot of talent, but I've seen better. Her voice is very nice, and she sang the song really, really well, but it was lacking some of the humor and emotion that could have been there. She does have a little bit of the accent here and there, but not as much as she should for Adelaide. Good job though.
Sorry to say, but the adelaide at my high school this year did soooo much better this video doesn't even compare. its too bad were not allowed to record it and post it, it would be almost an instant hit.
Ouch...pushing the chest voice on the last note = flat enough for anyone to hear. Darn. That's really the money note on this one. Other than that, a GREAT interpretation. Really like the "See note" schtick.
Her accent was okay when she wasn't singing loudly, very high, or very low, but when she did, her real accent sort of came through... Which was kinda irritaing. But she was good at singing.
Well done. She made the song hers with many personal and fresh choices; high stakes, light touch, great use of her voice throughout the piece. Nice!
best adelaide ive ever seen!!!!!! soo charismatic and funnY!!
i am with you
lol i LOVE her aggression at the end
I LOVE Musical Theatre! Well done!
Excellent job with the acting... I agree, she made it very interesting.
She reminds me so much of my drama teacher! This is my district piece and she is a great influence.
So funny! XD I loved how she acted at the "See Note" part. x3
Wow, what a great job! A Persawn xD! And what great singing :)
Okay, she is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!
Why are there all of these "thumbs down"?????
Jealous?
i love the bit with "see note"
I LOVE this performance! I'm going to try to mimmick it at a women's function I'm performing at!
I have auditions for this part tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I like how she says "person"
:D
i am adelaide in my school play, and this lady is really good!
That last note
Yeah the vibrato is amazing as well as the facials.
I have to do an audition for guys and dolls next week and I have to sing this. Any tips?
I live in Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. This is technically not what I was looking for.

did anyone else look this up after KJs audition talking about her mom playing in guys and dolls?
Why the comments on accent? It is supposed to change and it is supposed to slip back
+Sapphire M says who?
Hi. Who's singing this? Good performance!
My school just did this

It was okay but I've seen Carol Burnett perform this song. But for what it was she did great.
Ok she does slip out of dialect but she does some interesting and subtle things with this song. I liked it.
well i no morgan is this in our play im just stage crew haha
check out my rehersal of this song (it's a video response to this!)
wow! i actually thought that was really good! she really kind of made it her own, instead of just copying the way other actresses did it.
A great performance with neglected blocking and choreography!

NO! She has the accent!
Who is this???? Does anyone know?

This comment section is pretty dead
@flashesofbrilliance1 hell no!! shes good .. but this song belongs to Vivian Blaine in my opinion :/
haha
and the high note on bad was flat.
It's really cute, but she really needs to be more consistent with her accent.
she doesn't have the right accent in all of her words, but it was good overall.
She's good, but she bites her words too much. My guess is she hasn't had any voice training. Quite good for an amateur, however.
i did not like that version at all
yuck
