Tijuana, Mexico is one of those special places on this planet that everyone has an opinion about before they've ever visited. I decided it was long-over-due for me to travel down from San Diego and cross the border into Tijuana for a week of eating, exploring, and education.
The US/Mexico Border Crossing just south of San Diego to Tijuana, Mexico is the most highly trafficked border crossing in the entire world. More people cross the Tijuana San Diego border than anywhere else on earth, that's crazy to think about!
Obviously, one of the most polarizing aspects of Tijuana, Mexico is the border wall that is being constructed from the Pacific Ocean, past San Ysidro, past Otay Mesa, heading east towards Arizona and Texas.
After crossing the San Ysidro Pedestrian Border Crossing south of San Diego, our first order of business in Tijuana was to go visit the Parque de Amistad (Friendship Park) in Playas de Tijuana, where the border wall actually goes all the way into the Pacific Ocean.
From Parque de Amistad, we traveled to lunch in the Lagos neighborhood of Tijuana for delicuous gorditas and quesadillas.
After lunch, we got to see the massive border crossing line from Tijuana to San Diego.
We also checked into our Tijuana Airbnb near the Telefonica Gastro Park and finished the day at Norte Brewing, right next to Avenida Revolución in downtown Tijuana.
Special thanks to Border Tours for helping me navigate this incredible border city, and showing me all of the best things to do in Tijuana, Mexico; border-tours.com
Stay tuned for more videos from Tijuana, Mexico coming up next!

I always make sure I bring lots of USD in small bills so then when I drive back into California I get all kinds of goodies. I look latina, however I am biracial and do not speak Spanish. There are good and bad in any and everything but I have been to Tijuana about 6 times in two months and the people there were patient, kind and generous. Both the law enforcement in Mexico and our US customs and border patrol are great as well.

I lived in Guadalajara for 2 years and heard my friends speak of Tijuana many times, but I never had time to visit, so thank you for this video. It's always good to see positive cultural experiences like the ones you post. While in Guadalajara, I never ate such good food and the Mexican people were so willing to teach me how to prepare their native dishes.

Yes, you can have that if you pay for the service. Having money, life is easier and knowing also how t use the service and the money. Many people who have money, they don't want to spend that extra dollar maybe that's why they also have that money. Just to share, I have an uncle who is so rich that he could easy use the toilet paper as ass paper but so when he travel or are flying somewhere wow, he stays in like Motel 6 and fly economy class and he is 6.5. WOW, I told him many times that come on now..............buy and fly at least business class so you have more legroom no.......................he says that hey, if I buy an extra expensive ticket.............soon then I be broke LOL, what a joke ! Ok, enough said but again life is easy when you have the money so you can pay for the service. TCB.

In my opinion, the best way to visit a country that isn't yours is to find a local, born and raised in the city or in the country. It also helps with safety concerns. He/she won't take you to unsafe places or spots. I'm happy to see people touring my native state. Next stop Mexicali, La Rumosora and Tecate where the best "pan dulce" is made.

@@watchmanezekiel6068 no he isn't, bro... You are completely blind if you think that. Because God is against human sacrifice so therefore God will never replicate or emulate what he is against. And the prophets of the old testament said that it is an abomination to God to have the righteous die for the sins of the wicked. So they really couldn't have been a figure like Jesus that is condoned by God. God said the true Messiah would bring peace that would be everlasting.... To a point where all the nations would destroy all their weapons and turn it into tools used for agriculture to feed people with. So God said that the Messiah would bring peace...but Jesus spoke against this and said don't think that I came to bring peace. ... So he is already talking against what God promised,.... Therefore Jesus can definitely not be the true Messiah. Jesus said I have to come to bring a rod and a sword... Where in a household all five, three will be against two... Father against son and mother against daughter... In Jesus also said you have to hate your mother and your father and your brothers and sisters and your children and hate even your own life to be his disciple.... What kind of a Maniac says things like that? God would never send such a message... Your jesus is a hoax, bro.

You know that the history of that type of marker goes back to Roman times. Before the Romans, there were no paved or cobblestone roads. So, when the Romans ventured into Europa they put those markers with the number of km to Rome (from newly found cities) and from Rome to their new cities and territories. That's why we have the say, "All roads lead to Rome." That type of marker is used all around the western world even today (as you can see).

I think so, also. From what I remembered The Ranch was owned by A Woman named Juana, which is Joan in Spanish or a feminine name for John, who was so very much loved she was called “Tia” which is Aunt in Spanish. So that’s where the name “Tia Juana” comes from.

Not really, a long time back I read a story about A Woman named Juana who owned a ranch in that territory. That Woman was loved so much that she was called “Tia Juana”, or Aunt Joan in Spanish.
Tia is the Spanish Word for Aunt, and Juana is The Feminine Form of John in Spanish. Since Juan is John in Spanish, Juana must be Spanish for the name Joan.

My husband and I took the train from above San Diego to San Ysidro and walked across the border, too. It was before passports were needed. We then walked across a bridge and then back to enter the U.S. because going to Mexico was a last minute decision and we really didn't want to eat there or anything (we're 50 year vegetarians). We did buy some souvenirs from some street shops near the border. We got back on the train and I swear an agent sat across from us and engaged us in conversation. When I pulled out peanuts and juice out of my backpack and offered him some, he decided we weren't interesting and left. I worked in the high schools in SD county and there were a lot of wonderful kids who came from Mexico and Central America.

Right on. A very good point. Even being poor in the US, you are still in America where you can have a life if you want one. Many people in Mexico I heard are very poor and can't really have a life. So poor people are poor in a different way based on what country you was born in to. Then when we talk about the European country's wow, poor people live like Kings free this and free that even free housing childcare ok many things so again, it is what it is. But sad it for sure is being poor.

@Marshall Carwood that’s not the point anyone was saying, and why would anyone sneak into ANY country without a passport and think they’re privileged?...that’s just illegal. Furthermore, no one was comparing the US passport to any other country’s passport (at least I wasn’t). Regardless, I feel fortunate to have the passport I have despite of anyone’s opinion. Therefore, I’m speaking for MYSELF and not for anyone else.
