More people should watch this delightful, inciteful, and blessed-be, quiet, program. I had no idea King Charles was artistic. He is a sensitive & refined man, quick to use the Englishman's self-depricating humour too showing a generous spirit and thick skin. May God grant him the right care for his cancer as it is possible to be cured.
before I watch this, I am happy to tell you that I chose the watercolor box and palette of colors for HRH Price of Wales when I was working in a renowned color and artists' materials manufacturer in London, in 1969, or thereabouts, when I was nineteen. the order/request came in, from Buckingham Palace and no one had the courage to do it, so I offered and was so happy I had the chance to choose the watercolor pans for landscapes, for the now King Charles Third.
May I say something? I value art as good as the greatest king but I would appreciate that they work for once instead of getting all their wealth from our effort, like in middle ages, wouldn't I ?
can I ask why you don't value artists as workers? do you think it magically creates itself? do you think the items buy themselves? do you think they magically get taught? just curious as to why you don't actually value someones time and effort as much as yours.@@chimos
I am a watercolourist from South Africa. The most amazing thing is how in tune I felt with the King as he speaks about the colours, observasions of the landscape and what paints he might use. It was as if I was there chatting to him about our mutual love of watercolour. Extraordinary.
Hi, french Canadian here so excuse my english please... I always saied that the now called King Charles III was a very underated person and that he deserves his moment. I so wish the media could have more of motivation to give these sorts of insights into the Royal families instead of hounding them for their more superficial fashion sense etc. etc. This was the most wonderful insight into a sensitive, intelligent warm man who obviously has a wonderful sense of humour. I loved seeing some insight into many of the royal family and how they created art works I would never had any idea existed.

But to indulge you: yes, he is educated, and from that, as well as from the way he spoke in this video, one can safely assume he is also intelligent.
I have always admired King Charles. I love that he is into organic gardening and that he loves watercolours. Anyone who loves watercolours knows exactly what he is talking about when he talks about creating the painting from eye to hand to paper rather than taking a photo. He speaks so lovingly about what he likes to paint and about his ancestors and other royals who also loved to paint. It's a lovely insight into someone who is always in the public eye and goes into his private life like no other. I'm glad he has this as an escape from his public life.
It was wonderful to see the King in such a natural setting. There was absolutely no pretence, just a very human, natural man speaking about his love of art and the absolute reverence and wonder of his many predecessors talent and skill. Thank you to the person who orchestrated this amazing film footage. It was very engaging and pleasantly surprising.
Outstanding! Totally fascinating! HM King Charles is an extremely talented artist! His paintings & sketches are amazing! It was also so fascinating to see the wonderful paintings & drawings of many of his family members from the past. They were also very talented as well. By viewing this & other Documentaries, what I have observed & love about the King is HM's openness & desire to share his thoughts, emotions & feelings, as well as sharing various aspects of his life. This results in folks being able to identify with him as a person. Not just as a King. This is very refreshing! HM also shows much depth & a sweet temperament at times. Such as his sweet reaction & the comments he made while admiring the sketches of Queen Victoria's small children. HM also shows that he is very intelligent, with many brilliant ideas. He also shows he is highly observant & has a great sense of humor, Yet, in all of this, he shows a lack of ego. He comes across as very humble. All of these admirable characteristics are so evident in this wonderful Documentary, as well as in other fascinating Documentaries of the King which I have had the pleasure of viewing. Aye! Without a doubt 'tis true! King Charles truly is an extraordinary person. HM would be so, even if he were not a King. That is what makes him all the more remarkable & endearing! Thank you for sharing!
The more I learn about King Charles the more respect I get for him especially what he has done for our environment loooong before the rest of us and for people in need is so admirable👍 and his love for art and him choosing to have a different artist with him on every travel is amazing and I so salute him for doing that -imagine as an artist to get such an opportunity and experience and to be a part of history like that is just incredible😀👍
This documentary opens a new perspective on those people we end up watching only when they appear in public. As some other people has asked already, please upload more of this.
This is the most delightful doc on the Royal Family I have ever seen. King Charles 3 and Sarah Armstrong Jones are incredibly talented and I loved the family history. Not too much into royalty but I have always appreciated KC3's appreciation for history, the arts, architecture and the environment as he was always way ahead of the curve. The late Prince Philip did a fascinating doc about the farm several yrs ago. Maybe the family should get into documentary making.
Magnificent filming !! The film highlights also the Humanity and warmth of King Charles and reveals the depth and layers hidden below the shallow cliches surrounding the Royals.
I’ve never really been into the Royal Family but this was amazing to watch and gave me a new appreciation and a fresh look at these incredibly talented Royals💐🫶
It was nice to hear him acknowledge that at the end of this doc. (and in other parts) His speaking too the importance of art education and the enrichment it can bring to everyone's life, is good to hear. "Through my school for the traditional arts, i have tried to do what i can to continue the living traditions of the world’s sacred and traditional art forms. It is all too easily forgotten how crucial traditions are in handing on the immense richness of human knowledge, wisdom and skill, and giving them new life and new application. I hope that the school’s practical teaching and outreach programmes will enable the next generation to bring their inheritance to life." - Prince Charles
Thank you so much for sharing this! I enjoyed seeing the art created by generations of the royal family over the years. Imagine seeing them all together in an art exhibition! I would love to see more of Charles's art. He is quite an inspiration!
I couldn't help notice at 18:56 the remarkable similarity between the lady in Prince Albert's sketch and our late Queen Elizabeth II.. yet it was done nearly 100 years before she was born! What a fascinating and charming documentary.. thank you! 👏
What an extraordinary documentary, filled with beautiful natural landscapes, interesting commentary by HM King Charles and lovely review and insight into the talents of members of our Royal Family. Thank you for sharing 😊
Very proud of my children, digital artist, architect and number three at the Royal school of fine art in Toulouse. Days out in museums, galleries and letting them run around in mud.
What a wonderful video - such a treat to see and hear of all this talent through the ages. The more I see and listen to King Charles the more I respect and like him - and this is a newer feeling - the ‘sensationalism’ of the news prevents us from really knowing some people, which often clouds our judgement - we aren’t seeing the person(s) in their full dimensions.
