This was such a smart place to take the Batman character. We really don't have a live action movie surrounding the batfaimly or exploring Batman in terms of fatherhood. I really appreciate the direction James is going putting us into an already established world without re treding the origins for the 100th time. I cant wait for the DCU.
On the point of Tim Drake: I feel like Tim has always been a somewhat detached, independent Robin. Tim works well either by Batman's side OR working alone (obviously in kahoots with Batman/Batfamily). His origin even proves this; he figured out Batman and Robin's identity and brought the idea of taking up the mantle of Robin to Bruce, rather than him falling into Bruce's lap somehow someway. I think it could work to have Tim been the main robin for a 1-2 yrs after Jason, then focus heavily on his own endeavors (Titans?) as Red Robin.
Things I would like to see: 1. A no kill rule. Odd I have to say that these days. 2. White eyes 3. A batcave with a giant coin and other trophies in it. 4. Acrobatics. Most live action batmen have not been very acrobatic. 5. Jason still dead. I want an under the red hood movie at some point. 6. A grey and dark blue suit. Haven't really had any modern takes on this. Let's switch it up. 7. Getting batman's empathy right.
For the suit, I'm kind of on the opposite side. I've been wanting to see Batman wear simpler "just fabric" suit, exactly like in the comics. Seeing the Peacemaker's suit gave me the idea that James Gunn could pull off goofy "just fabric" suit and take it seriously. Really just wish we'd go less armored this time and maybe raise Bruce's power-scaling (not too much), since it's fantastical
I agree, a suit more similar to fabric that is bulletproof, we already believe that in the comic, right? Also, I prefer a slimmer Batman and please, no fake muscles or foam layers, that looks so dumb. And no white eyes.
A simple design could be cool but I really hope it isn’t too simple of a fabric, pyjama looking.. Just not believable especially for a billionaire… I think BvS did it well. It was a simple ish design and was fabric but like a.. good fabric? not sure how to describe it. Some people on Twitter would actually rather they use some Party City looking suits Something like the Arkham City suit would be sick.
@@vovical agreed. I love Alex Ross but it’s so hard to believe that the Batman that he draws could possibly exist lol. Cuz he draws super realistic fabric looking costumes
I like what you said about Grayson connecting with Damian and giving insight as a “batson,” but I would like to see that dynamic with Tim and Jason as well
I really hope James Gunn sees this video . U have stated every point that has to be stated, I would love to see Batman getting powers like in the comics with green lanterns ring or mobius chair
In terms of the suit, I’m always a fan of getting as close to the material used in the comics as possible. That’s one of the reasons I loved the BvS suit (while still having my problems with the portrayal of the character). I like a Batman that relies on his skills and his gadgets rather than a heavily armored suit. The same goes for other heroes. I can’t stand Superman or Flash with armor
@@souviksikdar1864 there are exceptions to the rule. I like the Knight suits because I loved it at the time it came out when the armored look wasn’t so fully overdone yet. The origins suit was pretty cool too. I’d probably prefer the Asylum/City suit over it though
I feel like batman in the DCU will be more of a mentor. While in the batverse he is developing as a character and soon to be turned to a comic accurate batman
I say the batsuit should look very accurate from the comics, but feel very believable like both of the Arkham Asylum & City suit did. I say the design should be exactly like the concept art that I saw on twitter: DCU Update.
Not that Tim Drake is unnecessary, but I do agree with you on the idea that skippign him would make for a better timeline for DCU Batman. Having lost the previous Robin only to have another forcibly thrown on him would make for a much more compelling story of fatherhood.
I wouldn’t necessarily skip Tim. But here’s how I would do it. Tim is a temporary robin because one of the villains let’s say 2 face in this situation. Tim and his parents are being hunted down by 2 face and so Batman makes him into a temporary robin in order to take down 2 face and than once he’s in bars Tim and his family leaves Gotham. And than eventually if u ever wanted to bring Tim back u can have him come back as Red Robin. That’s better than completely skipping over him. U can even have it to where Tim was living with Bruce for like a year under protective custody but never became robin except for a 1 time mission. That way u build a relationship between Bruce and Tim.
I’m sorry but Tim is extremely important to the Batman timeline. If they introduce Jason as red hood or say that he’s dead, then Tim needs to be a thing. Tim is the character that helped Bruce get back to a good place. After Jason’s death. Hes literally the one who explains to batman that he needs a Robin to have that balance. Damians character isn’t the type that would do that ever. Also Dick can’t be the one to tell Bruce that as his time as Robin is over and wouldn’t make sense. I personally would explain that Jason’s time as Robin was extremely short. Maybe a year. Then have Tim as Robin for longer (maybe he’s Robin at the beginning of the film) In this universe it could be Bruce that tells Tim he doesn’t need him as Robin any more instead of Dick. By doing that you set up Tim as Red Robin. Jason honestly seems like the best choice to wait on. Build up to his return as Red hood. Maybe we see him at the end of a movie and then we get a under the red hood movie.
The black eye makeup with pure white eye contacts could work for the comic booky white eyes without the actor losing the ability to emote with his eyes. Kinda similar to the spy camera lenses Battinson wore but whiter.
Happy New Year! Great video, gotta get that hype going for the Brave and the Bold. We’re so far away but hopefully we get some tidbits dropped in 2024. You made some great points! Here is what I would like to see: a subplot for Bruce Wayne having something to do with his public identity. Even if it’s something simple, like him attending a party that the secondary villain disrupts, or a storyline about something wrong at Wayne Enterprises. I’d love to see the gossip rags figure out that Gotham’s most eligible bachelor has a secret love child, even if we just see a tabloid headline or the news report in the background of a scene. This would be the place to see a socialite Bruce, maybe being in a similar place to Telltale Bruce as far as public visibility. Looking forward to a great 2024 for the channel!
Happy new year! Thank you so much man! There are so many opportunities with seeing this Bruce Wayne in the DCU in addition to his Batman side. Considering he'll be at a fairly fleshed out part of his career, the more I think about how his Bruce is already known it just makes me excited at the possibilities!
11:18. When I think of Batman, THIS is what I think of!! LOVE THAT DESIGN. Also love the two designs of the suits, agree with the shade of blue just coming out in the shade as well.
So agree with you! Just a wild thought (in a nutshell...lol): Would be dope to have Ra's Al Ghul & Talia as the villains...dumping Damian at Bruce's doorstep as a spy to stay with his father in the guise that "he is being hidden from his evil Grandfather". Damien staying with his father makes him see the world in a different view with contrasts and conflicts fueled with his interaction with Nightwing (or Bat Family members) and run-ins with an on-going situation in Gotham where Red Hood is the surprise antagonist and an accomplice of Ra's Al Ghul making Gotham ungovernable. Developing into a web of emotions and allegiances Damien would have to be conflicted with towards the end of the film, realizing he has the power to make a choice for himself for first time in his life and the fact that his father Bruce (& Bat family) is actually the only person that truly cares about him. In an end-of-film battle against Ra's Al Ghul, Damien ends up in a situation having to choose saving his Father or his Mother Talia. (Fast-Forward) Post-credit scene: Ra's Al Ghul having survived, rises from the Lazarus pit only to find Deathstroke waiting for him, Deathstroke kills Ra's Al Ghul and makes a phone call affirming to a mysterious voice (maybe Lex Luthor) on the other end "It's Done". Setting the tone to the Legion of Doom preparing a grand scheme connected to the over-arching antagonist in the DCU.
My top 6 6. Make it a christmas movie and release it in December. First gotham at winter we havent sceen sconce 1992 and second it would be over a year after the batman part 2. 3rd with damian being introduced family could be a bog part of it and christmas is about family 5. 35-38 years old max. He could have started at 25 or even 23 and would be anywere between 10 and 15 years in, whichever fits best with time for the robins 4. Save red hood as a villian for one of the movies and dont already have him good 3. See barbra gordan as batgirl, she could have never been shot, or she could have and done the new 52 thing and have designed tec to walk, and even could have her start as oracle in the start at at the end develop the tec and be batgirl agian 2. Joker appears in a small role with harley quinn, he could be an opening battle or in jail and have a scene like the deleted one in the batman 1. Tim drake exist. He is easily the easist to not have exist as even the co.ics dont know what to do with him after damian shows up. I would want him just go to college and be there only a few months. And then they can have tim found this universe teen titian or preferably just titians and have the cn team but with tim not dick.
The batmobile should be like a dagger: sharp, compact and agile. Maybe invisibility tech? I'm not a fan of the motorcycle, it should only be used during the day and the rush hour, because he'd need to dodge the in other vehicles; but in the middle of the night, empty streets, it would make more sense (and safe) riding a sports car instead of a bike.
@@TheAssassin123I'd much rather get an under the red hood film. It's a much better story and it doesn't involve the Joker being dead and haunting Batmans mind, for starters.
That fan art for DCU Batman is awesome. It would make sense to have that bat symbol in live action for the first time. We've only seen it in the Arkham games so far.
Happy New Year Boba, also a great video! Although my favorite Robin is Damien Wayne, I would have preferred they start with Dick Grayson as Robin and build the Bat-family gradually. However, I am open to this idea! that said, they really need to utilize Nightwing for Damien’s character to be effective. Their brotherly bond is essential for making this character work. I honestly can't wait to see where James Gunn takes us with the DCU! 🔥
My ideas of your 6 points: 1. In terms of his age/career, I think 12 years would be the oldest they should go. You could say Bruce was alone for 2 years, then meets Dick Grayson on his 3rd year, and Dick is Robin for 6 years and within those years Barbara becomes Batgirl. On Batman’s 8th year he meets Jason Todd but is killed by Joker by the end of the year, and Batgirl is paralyzed sometime before that. 9 months after Jason’s death Tim Drake confronts Bruce about him being Batman and he becomes Robin for the next 3 years. 2. In terms of his Batsuit/tech, I would like a mixture of armour and similar to Batfleck’s suit, say his suit is a thin fabric with his gauntlets and boots having armour similar to the Arkham games. His gauntlets could have a holographic computer, and I would Love the white eyes for his suit. 3. For the Batfamily showing up, I think Nightwing should be in it since Dick and Damian usually have a really good relationship in the comics so I would love to see their relationship grow throughout the movie. I think Oracle/Barbara should have at least one appearance where she isn’t a major role in the film where maybe she just helps get Batman some info, and Tim should just be a reference. Jason should definitely be referenced (and maybe a end credit scene could tease RedHood) 4. I think Damian should be like how he is in the comics, stronger than he looks and is really dangerous. And I would love to see Damian at the beginning should be really different then Jason, so when he first becomes Robin Batman has to keep his eye on him all the time and stop him from killing someone maybe multiple times till the end of the movie where when Damian has a chance to kill somebody, he refuses. 5. Tone: I think the tone should obviously dark but (similar to BTAS) there are times where Batman isn’t fully dark, and times where we see Batman’s heart, where he would have to comfort someone. 6. For the villain(s) I hope we can see some of Batman’s classic villains who’s just a side villain, where the main villain is someone who has a connection to both Batman and Damian, like Ra’s Al Ghul. Maybe Talia learned that Ra’s was going to do something to Damian and she takes Damian to Bruce knowing that Bruce would protect Damian in a way that she couldn’t.
Sorry for being late to the party but id like to pour my thoughts in anyways. There's a lot to say so its not very well organised so please bare with me. I think there are 2 layers to the analysis. Firstly, the hesitation of the audience of having two Live action batmen simultaneously. It bringd about a certain set of challenges. But it seems by the looks of it that the studio recognizes these risks and is prepared to address them head on. So what are these challenges; well of u want the Audience to be invested into 2 different live action portrayals of the character, u need to assure them that they'll get 2 different and unique experiences with both the versions. I believe James Gunn has taken the right initial steps to tackle this hurdle. By introducing a Batman who is clearly at a different stage of his career as compared to Pattinson. Id actually compare David Cornswets Superman to Pattinson's Batman in terms of the time that has passed since they have dawned their respective mantles. The DCU Batman is nearly a decade into being the caped crusader and so that's clearly a difference. Secondly, other since Reeves verse focused on more grounded stories in that his threats weren't ppl who derived their powers from some fantastical source. Since this Batman exists in the greater DCU and is already years into his journey, we have access to a wider rogue gallery to choose from. Other than the bat family, i want this Batman to have a certain mystery surrounding him. It shld feel that this version has had a loaded past and that should reflect in his conduct nd how he views the world. I would want the narrative flow to juggle between the present and the past. So that we can get flashbacks into all that has happened in his life before our introduction. But this shld be done strategically. Slowly unravel the elements of his past which have a direct consequence in the present and the ghosts frm his past that he has to confront again. In this way we might also get dick Grayson's intro and his initial adventures with him. My personal approach wld be to introduce Bruce at the end of the Arkham series. Since that is the most hellish part of sn already grim Gotham City. So as an audience, we'd be left with several questions about how exactly Batman ended up in Arkham and we can explore this on his own movie.
For the 6 things you want to see in the DCU Batman film 1. Point and time in his career-Yeah I'd love to see a seasoned, mid-30s Batman. Unless you want to count 1997's Batman and Robin, something we've never really gotten before is a true "Bat Family" It would also make sense because Matt Reeves' Batman in just in yr 2. 2. Batsuit-The suits from the video games are very cool but don't have to go overboard. Love the ones from the Arkham games but movie-wise the best way to go would be the Tell Tale batsuit 3. Batmobile-No tank. 4. Bat-Family- For years I've wanted it. How many members? idk. Can't over-do it. I'd be fine if Dick is already Nightwing, Barbara is in her role as Oracle and Jason has been killed by The Joker. Possibly Damian but tough call there. Would want to wait for Jason to return as Red Hood. Having the Bat Family involved would finally get a Nightwing movie made. 5.Tone of Batman/Bruce's character-For me, with whatever the scene is, humorous or serious, act in that way. he doesn't need to have dark tone or personality 6. Rogues-So many to choose from so idk I will mention this as an idea; A cliffhanger for the movie where Damian shows up at the front door of Wayne Manor
Another way I can see it goin is batman starting his training far earlier by Alfred then after graduating school early because he's a prodigy like that he began his tour around the world and became batman at age 20 had dick for 6 years so he'd be 28 had Jason for 2 and a half years so he'd be 30-31 had Tim for 4 years so 34-35 and now we have Damian way. If want batman slightly older than Clark then we can extend Batman's training days to 22 or extend jason or Tim's time as Robin makin Bruce 36-37
GREAT video Boba. I love hearing you speculate about design as I think you look at it very realistically and what could be plausible rather than wearing fan0goggles so to speak. And of course, thank you SO MUCH for including a few of my concept art designs of his suit. I always get a kick out of seeing people like them and even more so when you speak in-depth about them! Also, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Maybe even have Victor frieza's gun in the background of the back capes somewhere or the ventriloquist somewhere in the background. Like you know, subtle hints to characters that they haven't talked about like the condiment king
4:38 They could lyrically save Jason Todd for the sequel. Just make it under the hood. That way, you can tell a story. Introduce a few more bad family members like tim drake And at the same time, sit it up in the first one. It's like one of the post credit scenes
I think what would be interesting is that Bruce would go to Alfred and almost cry to him, talking about how he his scared of his ability to control Damien’s irrational behaviour and that it reminds him too much of Jason Todd and how he was also struggled and failed to guide Jason leading him to his death. It would be an interesting story beat I feel if Damien over hears this conversation and interprets it in a bad way, which then causes him to be angry at Bruce throughout the film. This could also be a reason for Bruce being somewhat aggressive and harsh on Damien through the film, because he’s trying to prevent the same thing that happened to Jason also happen to Damien. Maybe Damien didn’t know about Jason or his death and just had a revelation that Bruce got one of his sons killed then replaced him with another Robin, that would definitely make Damien uncomfortable and uncertain about Bruce. Also Alfred could be used as an emotional glue for the Bat family, an anchor that grounds the family and keeps them together through every rough patch. Alfred could maybe be a reason for Damien and Bruce to reconcile, forgive and trust one another at the end of the film, healing the rough patch in their relationship. These are a couple ideas I had for what I imagine could or should happen in ‘The Brave and the Bold’, hopefully this is already been thought out to some capacity and will be included because I feel that would be a very important part of the storyline for the film but also the arch for the characters 😎🔥
I would really like it if we already had Nightwing and that way we can have a Nightwing solo movie. I could actually see them making Under the Red Hood as a full on movie with Damian already as Robin. That way Jason’s feeling of being replaced could actually get even more intense than in the source material and cause not only tension between Batman, Joker and Jason but also Damian. I would really like to see Nightwing and Red Hood’s relationship fleshed out cause they’re probably the closest in age and their brotherly relationship is very intriguing to me and i’d love to see it. Red Hood could also get a solo movie or a Red Hood and the Outlaws with Roy Harper to flesh him out and delve into his trauma from the Joker situation.
I’ve never heard you really talk about castings for the dcu batman but I really think Alan Ritchson is a perfect casting. He came out and said he would love to play batman and if you’ve never seen his Reacher series go watch it. It is basically a batman show without the costume. Detective driven and he’s insanely brilliant with lots of action, and he’s massive with his size and stature he could truly feel like a batman that could stand next to superman and be just as imposing. he’s also getting a bit older but still could look younger if he needed to. Just my thoughts would love to know what you think about it.
This Batman could be easily in his mid 30s. Like you said, it doesn't have to be a direct copy of the source material. Bruce could start his training in his early teens or a bit later. He'd get a decade or more of training. Nothing prevents him from having Dick and Jason at the same time, maybe have Dick be a couple of years older and more experienced before Jason joins the family. They could even have Tim appear right before Jason is killed by the Joker. I'd imagine the Robins are still in school when they're kids so it'd make sense for them to switch who joins Batman on patrol. Barbara could already be in wheelchair when the movie picks up, there's no need for The Killing Joke movie. In one of the sequels they could introduce Cassandra Cain who then becomes Batgirl at least for a while, have her be maybe a couple of years older than Damian. Jason could also appear in a sequel as Red Hood. I think the fans end up being the issue if this movie isn't 100% comic accurate. Many fail to realize that Batman comics have existed since the 1940s, Batman has had multiple of phases and countless of different writers. When they introduced Robin, they most likely didn't plan on Jason becoming one later, or any of the other Robins that followed, which is the reason why there weren't multiple kids dressing up as Robin. But I'm curious to see what Safran and Gunn end up doing with the bat family.
With all the possibilities and wishlist of ideas you mentioned in the video above, I could honestly imagine a Batman movie in the style of a horror film with Killer Croc, my 2nd favourite villain, as the main antagonist in the vain of jaws, as Andy is a horror director and I agree that, that film should be serious, dark but not too much and magical/fantasy. 2nd film main villain should be Mad Hatter or some other less popular or less well known baddie.
Batman’s tech should have purpose. Similar to Hawkeye where we didn’t know he had some some special gadget until it was necessary for him to use it. Batman should always be 10 steps ahead. Gives opportunity for a character like Barry or Hal to say “jeez, is there anything you don’t have in that belt?”
Bruce tech should always be 15 to 20 years ahead of anything that the Gotham police department have in their arsenal . Bruce should never be behind or equal in technology . Everything about his tech should highly advance.
While I think if they needed to, I wouldn't mind if they skip a Robin if they don't want Batfamily to be too crowded to introduce in a single movie, BUT I think they don't have to put them in exact same situation like in the comics. For example, I think they can introduce Cassandra later on post-Damian, and my personal idea for Barbara is instead of making her Oracle, maybe they could go in the direction or Batman Beyond and Lego Batman, and now she works for GCPD in place of her father, cause I think that would have been an interesting take to make it different from prior live-action movies.
I don't think we can legitimately see a Robin that's too young in the current times. It would be too uncomfortable for the audience to see a 8 or 9 or even 12 year old being exploited to be an assassin. Society is too woke and these themes would be too problematic now. The youngest acceptable would be closer to late teens or young adult.
LOVE THE BLUE SUIT !!! Also other than Adam West & cartoons, there hasn’t been a blue suit on the big screen. It would be great & new fresh. Hopefully the story line doesn’t feel rush & ties into the 10 year story line. Quality is key
I really think we add Tim drake just cause he’s the better detective and then the whole rivalry of him and Damian is just awesome then plus if we get a whole courts of owls rip final crises Batman and robin reborn then return of Bruce Wayne…who found out that Bruce Wayne was still alive and stuck in time…drake…we have Tim and Damian fighting, and then ignore the whole Jason and tim rivalry and go to Grayson and Jason
I hope the cowl has white glowing eyes because of the tech it has… aka night vision, ai, etc. Am also hoping for a yellow outline on the bat symbol The fan art suits you showed look amazing!!!
I definetly want this Ras ahul gol guy to be the villian infact it seems like a no brainer to me for this first outing with Damian Wayne. On that note Robin is my favorite dc hero, so I want two things 1 they cast someone between 12-14 both because that's how the charachter should be, and to give the middle finger to anyone who brings up the "unrealistic" crap when it comes to Robin. Secondly that his portrayal breaks all the preconcieved notions about Robin because of how the live action movies have shown him. Robin is a badass charachter and people need to know it. I don't know anything about the Damian Wayne iteration or anyone beyond Greyson really but I'll be happy to learn about him and I'm sure they'll do a good job establishing him as a charachter.
6 thing's i want to see is 6 1 Arsenal Roy Harper and Speedy Thea Merylin 2 Green Arrow and Black Canary Laurel Lance 3 Harvey Two Face and Deadshot 4 Bat-Family 5 Biggest Massive Batcave 6 Iron Man involved with Batman
1. The DCU Batman Being Heavily Inspired By The Comics Of Course & The Animated Series 2. Mark Dacascos As Ghost Maker (Him Being The Main Villain Of Brave & The Bold) 3. I Want Batman To Have A Grey Batsuit Like On The Animated Series With Black Gloves, Black Spiky Gauntlets, Black Boots, Black Underwear On The Outside, The Long Black Cape, Black Cowl With The White Eyes, & The Gold Utility Belt. He Also Has To Have The Batmobile From The Batman: Hush Animated Movie & All His Gadgets. 4. I Want Dick Grayson To Already Be Nightwing Operating In Bludhaven. Possibly Barbara Gordon Already Being Oracle. Jason Todd Could Still Be Dead Or Already Back As The Red Hood. The Events Of Under The Red Hood Has Already Happened, But Batman Let's Him Do His Own Thing & Doesn't Really Like To Go To Him Unless It's Important. 5. I Want Batman To Be Dark & Brooding With The Detective Noir, But Also Him Genuinely Doing His Best To Show Damian It's A Different Way. Damian Doesn't Have To Be Ra's Al Ghul Or Another Batman, He's 13, & His Whole Life Is Ahead Of Him. He Has Options, Which Is The Message Bruce Is Conveying To Damian.
Killer croc would be a perfect active scenario because somebody like Damian who thinks evil should be killed it would be big for his character development if he would be able to decide to spare a beast like croc who the majority of Gotham thinks should be put down except for Batman and commissioner Gordon and I love your videos dc should be thankful you keep the anticipation and hype alive for films that are so far away from being released
26-33 Bruce = Dick Grayson, he could be adopted when Bruce is 24. This means Dick would be 18 when Bruce is 32. 33-35 Bruce = Jason 35-36 Bruce = Tim (don't erase Drake!!!)
I think that Bruce Wayne (Scott Adkins 🙏) would be Batman since he was 23 where he would adopt Dick (14) at 26 years old and then Jason at 30 (Dick would be 18 where he would leave)...Jason (14) would be picked up at 31 (Replaces Robin right away like in Titans) train Jason till 33 where Jason dies at 16 years old and Batman doesn't pick with Tim (14) till 36 years old after 3 years of grief and then have Damian (12) show up when Tim is 16 years old ....so have Batman (38) meet Superman (30-32).
7:16 I'm like a broken record IRL about this But "Why does Batman Dress Like a Bat?" should be a question of focus when designing the Batsuit. The answer is theatrics; He wants to scare the shit out of criminals. The batsuit should look SCARY. Not like a military boy's wet dream. If you wanna keep that element of realism, the armor needs to be covert, like the BVS suit. Personally, I'd like to see his ears be pointier, his cape be more tattered and otherworldly, and I'd LOVE to see the shoulder spikes from the 80s. He also needs glowing white eyes, even if it's only fancy contact lenses that glow white when he's on the hunt. Like, up the theatrics with Batman. Please.
Idk how popular this opinion is but i want his cape to act like in the long halloween comci where its super angular at the bottom but is kinda slithers out of his body like a shadow monster. It makes for some absolutely beatiful shots and silhouette
6 things i want to see is 1 Biggest Massive Batcave 2 Bat-Family 3 Green Arrow and Black Canary Laurel Lance visit Batman in Batcave 4 new Wayne Manor and Batcave 5 all new suits for Batman 6 Bring Marvel Characters in it
The villains we need to see for the 1st Batman: The Brave and the Bold movie needs to be Mister Toad being CGI, Professor Pyg, Flamingo, Dr. Simon Hurt and The Club of Villains with Joker in the Post Credit-Scene.
in terms of batsuit, I agree that I'd like it to be armored, but not heavily. I think it should be clear he's protected, but still able to move easily. For colors, i think a blue tinge especially in the cape would be cool. I want the belt to be like a dark gold and that symbol I think the rebirth one is cool with the yellow outline. I'm not a huge fan of a big yellow circle around the bat symbol. I just dont think it fits modern day
boba. I have a question for you that I dont recall you ever touching on… who would you like to be cast as Batman/ Bruce Wayne in this new DCU? I watch as many videos as I can and love your discussion videos such as this one. keep up the good work !! I hope this question reaches you and have a blessed new year cheers.
I have yet to be impressed with any Batman movie in the past: too campy, too offtrack from the character on psyche, morals and so on... What I would like to see the most though is a more comic true suit. The one you showed at 10min with the gold trim is excellent. I cringe when I see grease paint or 70lbs of armor and the inability to turn his head. Give him opaque eerily glowing eye screens that can do all that Iron Man's suit can do plus Rocksteady's tech. So far, an amateur punk with a handful of sand can take him out. Lose the voice modulator. He doesn't need to sound like he gargles broken glass or sings for AC/DC. Make him the ninja he's been trained to be, skilled enough to replace Raj but never able to because of his inability to disregard the sanctity of life. Great video!
I see Gunn mixing both the Son of Batman vs Robin. At some point well likely see Ras Al Gaul played by Antonio Banderas seeing as though he was Zorro which would be a nice tribute to Batmans origin
I don't want to see the Killing Joke already happened with Barbara becoming Oracle only because I want Leslie Grace to have a proper chance of being Batgirl after her movie being cut.
I’m excited they’re skipping his origins as Batman. I’d love an opening credit montage that has flashes and vignettes of his early days and run ins with other villains. Maybe make it animated.
To be honest with the Arrowverse Arrow did a good job of mixing realistic and fantasy Oliver wasn't a Meta Human but because he was trained good he seemed Super to normal ppl
I really want them to implement The yellow belt ,blue/ black cowl, whimsical villains, ominous city. I want THAT Batman in live action. Batman has had some of the best movies ever made but I’m tired of them just limiting him to the strictly grounded approach, I want clay face I want all his whimsical and diverse villains in this world..
I think that the batsuit shouldn’t be super armored up and stuffed with tech. I think that Batman wears lightweight suits specifically for stealth and agility. All this armor would weigh him down quite a lot even if he can bench 1000+ pounds
I really want Jensen Ackles to play Batman. He has played Red Hood and Batman in DCAU. He has the body and face for Batman and he is also 40 years old which aligns with the story.
I agree with the 10 year mark as far as career as Batman. Or even a couple years earlier than that but sort of right around his peak, physically and mentally
This was such a smart place to take the Batman character. We really don't have a live action movie surrounding the batfaimly or exploring Batman in terms of fatherhood. I really appreciate the direction James is going putting us into an already established world without re treding the origins for the 100th time. I cant wait for the DCU.
Agreed, I love how we're exploring his early years in one movie, and his later years in the other movie, its great
Jake Gyllenhaal as Bruce Wayne/Batman, thoughts, he's older than Alan Ritchson and younger than Jensen Ackles.
Yeah I am thinking same dude
Yeah only complaint is Batman and Superman aren't or most likely won't be the same age or relatively the same age
me too.this grounded lark is a slog
On the point of Tim Drake: I feel like Tim has always been a somewhat detached, independent Robin. Tim works well either by Batman's side OR working alone (obviously in kahoots with Batman/Batfamily). His origin even proves this; he figured out Batman and Robin's identity and brought the idea of taking up the mantle of Robin to Bruce, rather than him falling into Bruce's lap somehow someway.
I think it could work to have Tim been the main robin for a 1-2 yrs after Jason, then focus heavily on his own endeavors (Titans?) as Red Robin.
Things I would like to see:
1. A no kill rule. Odd I have to say that these days.
2. White eyes
🙏
I love the last one you put Batman is honestly supposed to be a dick!
Don't forget, he must have trunks
For the suit, I'm kind of on the opposite side. I've been wanting to see Batman wear simpler "just fabric" suit, exactly like in the comics. Seeing the Peacemaker's suit gave me the idea that James Gunn could pull off goofy "just fabric" suit and take it seriously. Really just wish we'd go less armored this time and maybe raise Bruce's power-scaling (not too much), since it's fantastical
Yea I actually agree, a thick grey fabric and a shinier black cowl/gloves/boots would look really cool imo
Some people on Twitter would actually rather they use some Party City looking suits
Something like the Arkham City suit would be sick.
@@vovical agreed. I love Alex Ross but it’s so hard to believe that the Batman that he draws could possibly exist lol. Cuz he draws super realistic fabric looking costumes
@@Uldrodlol no white eyes
I like what you said about Grayson connecting with Damian and giving insight as a “batson,” but I would like to see that dynamic with Tim and Jason as well
I really hope James Gunn sees this video . U have stated every point that has to be stated, I would love to see Batman getting powers like in the comics with green lanterns ring or mobius chair
First time seeing the Tell Tale armor . It’s so clean … I would love that direction . Also white eyes in the DCU would be awesome
YES!! It worked for Deadpool, it’s time for a cinematic Batman to have the white eyes too
In terms of the suit, I’m always a fan of getting as close to the material used in the comics as possible. That’s one of the reasons I loved the BvS suit (while still having my problems with the portrayal of the character). I like a Batman that relies on his skills and his gadgets rather than a heavily armored suit. The same goes for other heroes. I can’t stand Superman or Flash with armor
I’m so sick of the armoured suits tbh.. the only one I liked was in Batman Damned - where he wears chain mail sort of armour
@@firstlast9846 Batman Damned is one of my favorite Batman stories in general so I’m with you there
You don't like the Arkham Knight or Arkham Origins suit?
I want a cross between Batman: Noel and the Arkham games 👌🏻
I honestly want the batfamily suits to take inspiration from the amazing Spider-man suits, have it be fabric
The black eye makeup with pure white eye contacts could work for the comic booky white eyes without the actor losing the ability to emote with his eyes. Kinda similar to the spy camera lenses Battinson wore but whiter.
Keaton in the flash gave me exactly what I've been missing
I just want a Batman film that accepts the supernatural and all the crazy villains in Gotham. No “realism”
Thank you! You can do the crazy takes of villains while being dark and cool. Arkhamverse style sums it up
@@Gotham_bat759 exactly
@@FrenchPotato661 I agree with you but other than Arkham games have we seen it being done successfully?
@@Maab134 I don’t think so
@@Maab134I'd say we've seen it in both animation and comic books.
Not really in live action though.
3:52 I'm glad you brought it up. Cause this is something I definitely want to see in live action even though we technically kind of did in Titans
Bad Blood is a good animated film that features a fair amount of Bat Family members.
10:27 these suit designs are very cool. That gold trim on the emblem and that blue tint😮💨
Great video as always Boba. Can't wait until we have more info on this project, the hype is real 🙌!
My top 6
6. Make it a christmas movie and release it in December. First gotham at winter we havent sceen sconce 1992 and second it would be over a year after the batman part 2. 3rd with damian being introduced family could be a bog part of it and christmas is about family
5. 35-38 years old max. He could have started at 25 or even 23 and would be anywere between 10 and 15 years in, whichever fits best with time for the robins
4. Save red hood as a villian for one of the movies and dont already have him good
3. See barbra gordan as batgirl, she could have never been shot, or she could have and done the new 52 thing and have designed tec to walk, and even could have her start as oracle in the start at at the end develop the tec and be batgirl agian
2. Joker appears in a small role with harley quinn, he could be an opening battle or in jail and have a scene like the deleted one in the batman
1. Tim drake exist. He is easily the easist to not have exist as even the co.ics dont know what to do with him after damian shows up. I would want him just go to college and be there only a few months. And then they can have tim found this universe teen titian or preferably just titians and have the cn team but with tim not dick.
I hope we will get DCU Batman news lika writer and Casting official
I love how much we agree about the Bat suits..Another great video Boba, keep talking!
I’m hype for this film. I think we’ll finally get the perfect Batman.
9:36 what a badass suit👏 that’d be something badass to see live action
Happy new year Boba
This Universe needs to portray Deathstroke and Lobo as the true badasses they are. But I'm looking forward to this movie.
Also the Arkham Knight
@@TheAssassin123 you want the Arkham Knight in this universe?
Yeah why not they could make it a solo Batman movie
@@TheAssassin123I'd much rather get an under the red hood film. It's a much better story and it doesn't involve the Joker being dead and haunting Batmans mind, for starters.
@@TheAssassin123the arkam knight is only from the arkam games lmao wym
Tim Drake could already be with the teen titans and save him for teen titans movie. I want it to be a movie because we have so many titans series now
Ben's voice mod was fantastic
Hayden Christensen as Batman and Bruce Wayne he’d nail that Fs Fs!!!!
The 2nd Concept suit was perfect
Definitely having soundtrack like arkham city theme just would hit the spot.
First boba vid for 2024 LETS GO
My ideas of your 6 points:
Jason should definitely be referenced (and maybe a end credit scene could tease RedHood)
I would love to see Brave and The Bold mirror Logan in tone. 😂😂😂😂 Jokes aside I think that would be amazing.
Damian has been my favorite robin since super sons
For the 6 things you want to see in the DCU Batman film
1. Point and time in his career-Yeah I'd love to see a seasoned, mid-30s Batman. Unless you want to count 1997's Batman and Robin, something we've never really gotten before is a true "Bat Family"
It would also make sense because Matt Reeves' Batman in just in yr 2.
2. Batsuit-The suits from the video games are very cool but don't have to go overboard. Love the ones from the Arkham games but movie-wise the best way to go would be the Tell Tale batsuit
5.Tone of Batman/Bruce's character-For me, with whatever the scene is, humorous or serious, act in that way. he doesn't need to have dark tone or personality
6. Rogues-So many to choose from so idk
I will mention this as an idea; A cliffhanger for the movie where Damian shows up at the front door of Wayne Manor
Whoever they cast, they have to have great chemistry with Damian. That will make or break the movie.
Been watching your DC content all over Christmas & have subscribed 👍 keep up the fantastic work 👊
4:38 They could lyrically save Jason Todd for the sequel.
Batman no cry. No Batman no cry.
I would imagine that there will be prequels about Bruce's early years
This Batman could be easily in his mid 30s.
I'd love the blue batsuit
Batwoman should turn up in the second DCU batman film and maybe Lucious Fox's son as Batwing eventually. I hope Lucious Fox will be in Brave and Bold
Oh please no. The bigger the Batfamily gets , the more it diminishes Batman... Robin, and maybe Batgirl at the absolute most.
I just wanna see a blue suit.
I definitely want Batman to have explosive gel, detective mode, holographic comms, white eyes, freeze grenades, remote hacking device, drones etc.
I would be happy with Damian being 9
Switch it up and make the grant Morrison run with that flying batmoblie
Batman’s tech should have purpose. Similar to Hawkeye where we didn’t know he had some some special gadget until it was necessary for him to use it. Batman should always be 10 steps ahead. Gives opportunity for a character like Barry or Hal to say “jeez, is there anything you don’t have in that belt?”
Bruce tech should always be 15 to 20 years ahead of anything that the Gotham police department have in their arsenal . Bruce should never be behind or equal in technology . Everything about his tech should highly advance.
The white eyes would make Batman always look serious and that's the point being able to see his eyes takes away his mystery
I think the best way to include Tim drake is by have Batman start being Batman at 21
Happy New Year!! May you all have a blessed and prosperous 2024 🎉
Am also hoping for a yellow outline on the bat symbol
The fan art suits you showed look amazing!!!
Was already confirmed going to have Damien as Robin and happy new year
I definetly want this Ras ahul gol guy to be the villian infact it seems like a no brainer to me for this first outing with Damian Wayne.
I want the next Batman to be similar to Arkham Batman
1. The DCU Batman Being Heavily Inspired By The Comics Of Course & The Animated Series
2. Mark Dacascos As Ghost Maker (Him Being The Main Villain Of Brave & The Bold)
33-35 Bruce = Jason
35-36 Bruce = Tim (don't erase Drake!!!)
A batman just about to hit his peak, mentally and physically.
7:16 I'm like a broken record IRL about this
But "Why does Batman Dress Like a Bat?" should be a question of focus when designing the Batsuit.
I just dont think it fits modern day
Boba could you make a video of the 10 movies your most excited for in 2024?
I need him to have the Rebirth suit as the main cowl, but also multiple suits in every movie.
Yes.
Dick needs to have a conversation with Damian warning him not to be rash and end up like Jason.
Boba without the hat jumpscare
TIM MENTION I SUBBED! PRAYING HES IN IT
I don't want to see the Killing Joke already happened with Barbara becoming Oracle only because I want Leslie Grace to have a proper chance of being Batgirl after her movie being cut.
I’m excited they’re skipping his origins as Batman. I’d love an opening credit montage that has flashes and vignettes of his early days and run ins with other villains. Maybe make it animated.
I really think James Gunn is going to give us the ultimate robin character of all in later films especially Justice league…JARRO
My only wish is that Mushietti not direct. Outside of that, I'm really hoping to see Hugo Strange appear in a Batman movie at some point.
