When I went back to upgrade to the newer CLA, believe it or not there at a Mercedes dealership, one of the sellers told me outright not to buy the CLA. The Cla was not built for Nigerian roads or weather. One of its main purpose, was for college kids in America to be able to afford it. The front wheel base drive, is due to winter weather. During snowfall, you need acceleration & grip.
I have a CLA250 Edition one and its definatly NOT built for driving in Winter. The suspension is to hard and not made for driving on snow. Its very unstable and "interesting" to drive. But in summer with good tires the suspension is insane - its like glued to the road.
FWD has nothing to do with winter, it's just that the platform is based on the A-class one, which needs to be FWD as every other hatchback for interior space purposes
@@thompsons1837 i'm not saying FWD is not better for winter weather, I'm saying mercedes choice to go for FWD on the CLA has nothing to do with winter, they only chose that layout because the existing A class chassis needed the extra backseat/trunk space and therefore couldn't use the RWD C-class chassis

A few things to keep in mind, servicing your transmission once a year is a bit overkill.
