You need a good chair that supports your body properly. I'm a dressmaker and spend a lot of time sitting at the sewing machine. I have a vintage Eames chair that my husband got cheap from a secondhand store. It gives great support and is a perfect fit so I don't feel so tired or cramped. Be like Goldilocks and try different chairs until you find the one that is "just right"
Proper back support was key for me, I bought one of those mesh arch support things and it was working great, now we've been informed that all our chairs are going to be replaced by stools. I'm not sure what to think
Yes, I changed my sitting posture after watching your video, but I couldn't stick to it for a long time, so I decided to use a waist support to help me correct and develop a correct sitting posture, hope this will help!
I have just discovered your videos and I want to thank you I might have to ask you privately in a direct message for advice. I shred paper, but I am also nearsighted. I’m not sure if that matters, but I also have him plegic cerebral palsy meaning that one side of my body is smaller and weaker than the other side.as I learn to use the software features associated with this particular video I hope that I will find the answer. Thank you so much.
It's best to sit in a chair, where you can press your back flat into the back of the chair fully supporting your lower back, so you can completely relax, And have your back fully supported the whole time.
It also helps if you have a tall enough chair/seat that allows your knees to drop below your pelvis. Ideally you can drop your legs down straight and cross your feet and it’ll help force good posture.
Sofas are basically fuelling the problem too Though Sofas are meant to be comfortable... It creates lots of issues. The more the firm, the sofa/chair is it's actually better.
Use a latex cushion to sit on . There are special one with a hole or shaped out on the area opposite the spine area. They are very comfortable and release pressure on your back and butt cheeks. They won’t feel numb at the end of your shift.🫂
😂😂😂luv it. But some of us dont want to sit up right while watching tv 😂😂 We just want to slouch all night. Or slouch in front of computer screen all day. No one is looking at me. What is the best way to sit in front of screen 4 hours straight , then go downstairs, grab lunch, then up the stairs, sit in front of screen for another 4 hours? Do we place our feet horizontally on top of box or feet flat on floor? At the office, usually mobile, go to photopier, printer, visit coworkers, toilet.. Working at home has its benefits, but body is creaking more often when getting up from chair. Yes, we're suppose to get up every hour.
It's the lack of self-awareness that I struggle with. I can't maintain that posture for an extended period; after 3 seconds, I tend to forget myself, and my posture becomes lax.
A good ergo chair can certainly help. It allows you to make all the small adjustments to leave yourself in an ergonomic position… comfortably. I lucked out with my company offering me an old Steelcase chair when I switched roles to a wfh and needed a better setup
Same. I have ADHD and I drive truck and trailer nearly 15 hours a day 😖 My mind drifts SO easily. I'll have done it 50 times a for a few seconds each. Lol.
Totally sucks that short people can't buy chairs for short people. I have a computer chair and a "relaxing" chair and I had to make back/lumbar cushions, arm cushions and neck cushions to avoid all kinds of body pains. You can actually buy "ergonomic" stuff, but they never fit right, either.
Same on a flight, feet don't reach the floor, so you're in agony by the time you reach your destination, No matter how many times you walk around and stretch. 😮
My back is ber ybaf despite sitting right, and even just waking up, or doing regular stuff like shores. Sometimes I sit in unusual ways to ease the back, the frog position for example works really well in some cases. I do various others too. But if I'm too bad to even do that, or do any exercises/stretches laying in bed in various positions with pillow for support helps. It can take hours or days to get to 100%
What do you suggest for people with the opposite problem? I have a very hollow back and always sit like a duck. I sometimes consciously try to relax my muscles, but I always go back into a strong hollow back and this causes back problems.
❤ I'm going to try this one I have a lot of gut weight. I've been thinking I was sitting up straight. Think think of sitting on ham bone Lifting up rib cage.😅😅

NECK ...right side 😖
Is this not tilting the hips though so the hip is tilted too much when walking? Causing another issue?
🧕🏻🤔😳👍
It's so difficult to maintain good posture throughout the work day over a desk.

Little pillow should help
Yes it is
And that's where core strength comes into play

Working on it!!🙌🏿🙌🏿❤️❤️❤️
Wow actually watched this and realized I was sitting like that at the moment so I fixed my posture as you said and it was much better thanks
Most chairs I find have poor back support. I like to put a pillow or towel behind my lower back to help keep good posture
Hi I am.following.your

Wish I saw this 40years ago.
But fortunately I'm 65yrs old n sitting properly n it's feeling better
So much for back rest
My late grandma used to sit in that good posture untill her 90❤ and she worked hard.
Sofas are basically fuelling the problem too

Thank you, just got spooked off my horse today and landed right on my lower back. Ouch! This helps.
Beautiful animals but damn when they can hurt too! Hope your OK.
It’s been 2 weeks and it’s doing much better. Can’t wait to get into your other exercises!
im a trucker around nyc and this is very hard to do with horrible roads, hard riding rigs, worn out seats tons of traffic.

This is the position my lower back hurts in 😂
Because you've been sitting in the wrong position for so long
@@Amy623ur probably right actually
@@Amy623I literally had this realization today. What do we do, just work into it? What do you recommend for people that sit at work?
Reclining chair would be better
Same here, I always find myself sitting like this with way to hollow back and this is causing problems to me
😂😂😂luv it.

Yes, we're suppose to get up every hour.
Need to invest in the right chair, that was made well so you can comfortably sit in a healthy position
100% this guy, nor any other person on the planet, sits comfortably in this position for more than a few minutes.
So true. So many people sit so badly that it is taken for comfortable, but it’s not.
It's the lack of self-awareness that I struggle with. I can't maintain that posture for an extended period; after 3 seconds, I tend to forget myself, and my posture becomes lax.
sounds like a you problem buddy ( I'm typing this with a rounded back cuz I forgot too, thx for reminding )

I should have seen this 20 years back ..😂😂😂..still better late than never......thanks a ton dear
Advice on sitting in an office chair or a good office chair that supports lower and upper back. I've bought a few and none help. Thanks
Exact 100%. I have done it and my legs have got stronger as well
