BIG Annual Mens Winter Camp Highlights

- This is this winter's version of an annual Alaskan winter men's campout that has been going on for several decades. I camped out for 4 days at this campout and then Connie went back in to the same location and her and I camped out another 3 days. Seven great days of winter camping. I didn't want it to end. The video is highlights of those two campouts.

Hello my name is Lonnie and My wife is Connie.
Here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival you will learn about many long forgotten tricks and tips of the old time woodsmen. Not only will you learn about bushcraft / woodcraft but you will learn many things that will help you to survive in less than ideal "survival" situations as well. Come along and sit with me by the campfire as I delve into these subjects in a way that you can easily learn to then do yourself.
I will show you how to make shelters, gather food, use wild medicines as well as start fires with or without matches, lighters, ferro rods, etc - Навчання та стиль
Connie and I are doing well. we have been doing the UA-cam channel for 12 years and have decided to take a step back at this time. We may or may not be doing videos in the future depending on what the future looks like at that time. We will miss the interaction with our viewers as we have made new friends all over tne world.
THEY LIVE!!!!😀
I think you should pin this comment so its easier for everyone.
I wish you both great health and peace. I hope you will return one day, after all we are a family in this community you have crafted over the years.
God bless you both. I would be a fresh breath of air if you returned. But i completly understand and just know lonnie and Connie you are both amazing people and a true gift from our lord and savior.
Me and my wife really miss the cozy videos in the hot tent. God bless.
I'm glad you're both doing well and hope you decide to make more videos.
Hi there. Your videos are missed. I hope you come back.
Same here my brother
Just so you know. There are a lot of people who still check in on you once in a while. Still miss you.
We are doing just fine. Thanks for checking in and for the kind words. I hope you and your loved ones are also being blessed.
@@Far-North-Bushcraft-Survival We are blessed. my wife and I are pastors of a church in Olympia Washington. And we are loving it. God is good! Thanks for replying back.
It's weird going almost 6 months without a video. We hope you folks come back but we support you either way. Take care my friends and we miss you. You've made us better people.
Hope all is well.
Nice to see a recent comment that's been hearted.
I too just realized it has been months since we had a vid, and now I find myself instantly worried. hope you guys are OK L&C
I wish you all the best and look forwed to your next vid
We've been wondering what Connie and Lonnie are up to as well. Hope all is well in the Far North Bushcraft world.
Just to let you know : I keep re-watching all your videos over and over, all the time. You are my favourite go-to channel during many cold and dark nights !
Still enjoying the catalog of older videos. Thanks, Lonnie and Connie
Miss Lonnie & Connie videos. I learned a lot from your channel. Loved the camp site/fire ones the most.
I was getting worried seeing that you haven't posted anything for 4 months, but I read the recent comments where you mention moving onto a new season in life which may or may not include the UA-cam videos. I hope this new season you two are on is in good health and happiness, and if you decide not to return, I want to personally thank you both for the amount of work you have done in sharing your lifestyle since 2010. You both have been some of the biggest inspirations in my life to work towards having a backcountry lifestyle, and without the both of your knowledge, humour, and sharing in adventures which kept me focused through a very hard time in my life, I believe I wouldn't be where I'm at today.
Thanks again, Lonnie & Connie 🤠
Thank you very much for the kind words. I wish you many blessings in the future. I consider it a great honor to receive such praise from you my friend. I am glad that Connie and I have been a positive influence in your life.
Certainly do miss y'all...
Hey you two just wanted to say miss you and wish you the best! Whether more videos in the future or not your channel has been such a blessing and teaching from Bushcraft all the way up to how to live a quiet humble life in the Lord! So you may be sorely missed but always fondly and lovingly remembered, I can guarantee it! God bless you
sure hope you come back to you tube for those of us who loved you and connie. certainly miss you wisdom take care and god bless you
Hey Lonnie and Connie. I just watched Mark Young's most recent video. I had noticed you guys hadn't posted in a while, but didn't realize you had decided to stop. At least for awhile. As someone who enjoys your videos, I hope you continue at least every once in awhile. I also appreciate your faithfulness to Jesus. Enjoy life! God Bless.
the calmness of making coffee at 4:33 reminds me of those Japanese tea ceremonies.
Hello friends. I hope you and Connie are doing well. I just laid down to get some sleep and you two just popped into my thoughts. I guess God has given me a nudge to check on you both. I hope your well and have a great Christmas to send this insane year off. I do believe the New Year will end of being so much better. I think of you often lately. May you both be blessed. Peace, Love and Freedom 🇺🇲
Thank you for thinking of and checking on us We are doing great.
May you and your loved ones have a very blessed Christmas and New Year as well.
Hi Lonnie and Connie, glad to hear about you on Mark's channel today.
You made a lasting impression on me and I thank you for it!
Enjoy!
Enjoy your videos over the years. Maybe make one last video telling us your thoughts and possibly saying goodbye. This is like a great TV show that gets canceled.
I agree wholeheartedly with Scott. You and Connie are absolutely blessed in your lifestyle and adventures. I get more enjoyment and serenity from your channel than any other here on UA-cam. I wish you both many years of health and happiness to continue to live in the way I believe we were created to. Thanks once again guys and look forward to many more!
I'm here
I've been binge watching all your videos again. I hope someday you guys return even if it's only a few videos a year. I think I speak for well over a quarter million people....we miss you guys.
Take care my friends
Thank You for all the years of wonderful content! ❤️
Hello Connie and Lonnie,
Two years since the last time you've posted a video and it's like an eternity for me. I wanted to say that I enjoyed very much every single of your videos. Not only the content was interesting, but you guys had a soothing effect on me. You know, there are LOTS of people making Bushcraft and Survival videos, but there is just ONE Connie and ONE Lonnie. Thank you for all the numerous hours you've spent to make those videos. Thanks for the knowledge you gave us, the passion, the smiles, and sharing a part of your life with all of us. One of my numerous favorite moments with you guys is when Lonnie tasted the ice cream he just made. His smile was the one of a little boy enjoying his ice cream very much!
I miss you a lot... I hope that you two are doing well, because that's what's the most important... Take care!
We are glad that you have enjoyed the videos so much. Thank you for the kind words.
@@Far-North-Bushcraft-Survival Are you guys still going camping?
Lonnie and Connie i just want to say how much you are both appricated. All the videos, and work you put into each one is something special and a true tresure. I have started my own channel and hope someday i have the following that you have. You and your wife are a great and special blessing from our lord and saviour. Epic channel Lonnie and Connie.
If I ever find myself stranded in Alaska, there's only one man I would want for a guide!! God bless you Lonnie for these beautiful videos.
GOD bless you and Connie 🙏🏾 . You just came to my mind this morning and I had to see what was on your channel. I get it! Hang in there in keep the faith in ✝Jesus Christ/Yeshua Ha Mashiach✝ and we'll meet you in the air!

Yes we are both fine. I hope the same for you and your loved ones.
You are a blessed man indeed. The time is nigh at hand. May the Lord God of our fathers, through His Son, our Lord, bless you with manifold more blessings in the times to come. 👍🏼👍🏼

Lonnie and Connie your videos gives me happiness. You have touched my life in a positive way. Thanks for all you do!
The incredible people like you folks that have shared your lives, culture, and knowledge have helped to enlighten us all. You are the best. Stay healthy.
Miss your videos. Hope to see you again soon.
Hello Lonnie and Connie, I discovered your channel few months ago and I've been watching most of your videos.
I'm living in Rimouski, Québec and I've been using several things I've learned from you this last winter.
As you may have figured out, my native language is French, since I'm in Québec province but your videos are very well made and your explanations are very clear and simple so I have no issues understanding you.
Thank you so much for everything you teach to us and... your videos are kinda therapeutic as well... Watching you helps me relax and clear my mind, you share your passion for nature real well.
I hope you'll share many more videos with us.
Thank you!!
It’s been a joy over the years to watch you two. You’ve sure grayed over the years. 😁 Some comments mention how blessed you guys are and there’s no doubt about that. Great camp you two. Thanks for sharing this with us. 👍🙏✌️
I guess life moves along for all of us.
I've been critical. I've been joyous with you.
But I will miss your content. You have been a God send to many of us. I still have a tab open on my computer to your old video on making bindings for snowshoes out of a rubber innertube, and I'll get back around to it one of these days! That one I've watched a dozen times!
Be well, and be of good spirits. God Bless you, Lonnie and Connie!
Great idea using the interlocking 2'sq mats. I bought a bunch of used playground mats that are 3'sq to put in front of my woodworking machines for comfort. I never considered using them in a hot tent. Or using the wood paneling for support on the cots, another great idea. Thanks for the heads up.
Hope you two are ok.
Yes we are fine. Hope you and your loved ones are as well.
It’s gotta be the best winter camping set up I’ve ever seen. Thank you for posting, life is good.
We miss your videos, Lonnie & Connie. Hope you are still doing well. Hope to see you again in the future.
Yes Connie and I are doing great. Hope the same for you and your loved ones.
Lonie I'm on the plane right now on my way finally to anchorage
Cool group gathering. I’m sure there was lots of talk of tools, ways of making camping better and God. Looks like a blessed time!
Merry Christmas to you two, us, your faithful viewers never forgot you, best of health and may all of your wishes come true. Chris from Alaska.
Thank you "Chris from Alaska" for the kind words. We also hope that you and your loved ones experience a very blessed Christmas as well, along with good health and a great New Year.
Merry Christmas if you are still watching
Thank you my friend. May you and your loved ones have a very blessed Christmas and New Year as well.
Long time no video -- missing you -- hope you’re well 🙏
Yes we are fine. Hope you and your loved ones are as well. Thank you to yourself and your wife for making these videos. They are entertaining and keep me wishing to camp like that.
We hope you folks are doing well. My wife and I finally found your channel again and you give us so much valuable information. Even if you can't respond, know that others are thinking and praying for you two.

@@Far-North-Bushcraft-Survival Thank you and glad to hear. Wish I could just leave the Midwest and live up there but wife and kids and grandkids have life nailed down here. Nice to watch regular folk enjoying the wilderness. Keep posting if you can.
God bless you and Connie
Hi Lonnie, I was going to check in to see if you two were well as it's been a while but I've noticed that many others already have. I understand you're considering not carrying on with the channel.
I've thoroughly enjoyed it and still do. You've made a few hundred thousand friends along the way! I might suggest a quick hello video from time to time. During the longer stretches between videos it seems people check in, not necessarily looking for another video but to make sure you guys are well.
I can certainly understand the change in circumstances, we just hope you're well and wish you nothing but the best in whatever the future brings.
-Jeff
Yes. As you already noticed, we are doing fine. Hope you and your loved ones are equally blessed.
I think I speak for most of the people that follow you but we really enjoy your videos. Thanks for all the videos as they are very inspiring and knowledgeable in many areas. May God richly bless you and one I’d like to shake your hand when we’re in heaven. Until then stay strong in the Lord and hang on because we are getting close to his return.

Just a note to let you and Connie know that you are missed. I just watched Mark Young's coffee chat dedicated to you, and came by (so to speak) to say that and to revisit some of your vids. May the Lord bless and keep you both, brother.
It's a while, since I have watched video from you. Every time I see the outro, I realize it's just perfect. Polite and heartwarming just as the video's themselves.
All these years and it never dawned on me to bring powdered milk🤦🏻♂️🤣🤷🏻♂️
I have recently learned that you can now get "whole" milk that is powdered. My wife and I have been buying the whole powdered milk now for a while and it sure seems much better than the old fat free milk that we have been getting for years. It is more expensive than buying fresh milk so we use it for camping etc where shelf life issues are a concern. It can be great in snow "ice cream", cereals, coffee, camp bread baking etc
Miss y'all. Hope all is well. Take care. I have been rewatching your videos.
Wow, I wish I could go on something like this!
You guys always look like you are having fun. Another great video!
Good wishes to you both, still looking forward for any new content of yours.
It's people like you who make UA-cam worth anything at all! 😊👍💕
I miss me some Connie and Lonnie.
The view from the bottom of the coffee cup while pouring in the coffee...how in the world did you do that? 😂
I have a glass bottom cup that I bought second hand at a thrift store for just this purpose. :O)
Awesome area y’all went camping in! Great video Lonnie and Connie! Keep making them!

That is awesome. Others in the future now will say that they were inspired by you.
Love your videos you and Connie do a great job of explaining things
Hi Lonnie, just sending a note to you both. That was an enjoyable time at camp with the men, I'm sure it's an event that is growing each year. Looks like there was quite the crew this year. Glad the weather was in your favor so Connie could join you to have a longer stay. Your tent looks cozy with the wood stove and floor, sure beats a tarp. The idea of the squares is awesome since they are lightweigh and easily transported, I know you will fix that heat divot with your ingenious thinking. Love watching you make your coffee Lonnie, wish I could wait that long for the first cup;) I actually use Connie's method, although might have the wherewithall to grind beans for the 2nd cup, lol.
Anyhow, just wanted to say hello and it was a pleasure to enjoy your camp trip once again.
Brother Lonnie.. happy resurrection day my brother . HES ALIVE brother .. to the glory of God the Father .. see u in the clouds soon brother.
Hey Lonnie and Connie, I hope you both are doing well. You both are missed on this platform. Stay safe and healthy.
Yes we are doing just fine. Hope the same for you and your loved ones.
This was a great video, thank you for making it.
I do wonder, don't you need to split the logs for the stove?
No need to split the wood if the diameter is narrow enough to easily fit multiple pieces in the stove. As long as one can have at least three pieces in the stove at a time, it is good. Split wood will only speed up the rate of burn. You may need a higher rate of burn depending on the tent ability to hold heat as well as the stove box size. In this case we did not need the higher rate of burn so rounds were preferable.
@@Far-North-Bushcraft-Survival I didn't know that. Thank you!
it's a blessing to hear from you two! I miss y'all! I've had my phone crash, and lose all my UA-cam channels a few times. the first one I remember to re-subcribe to is Far North Bushcraft and Survival! Always GOOD QUALITY CONTENT! THANK YOU BOTH!

@@Johnny_Guitar You’ll find it in the dictionary of awesome people….
@@Johnny_Guitar , it's just a short way of saying you all. Pretty common where I live! Very understandable on why it's not understood. It's so common here that my phone will correct my punctuation. "Yall" isn't correct spelling apparently, it's "y'all ".

Hope you get to the remote cabin this winter. If you're feeling it, a short video of that heavenly place would sure hit the spot. I love those ones.
Hello my friend. Thank you for the kind words. Glad you have enjoyed the videos. Connie and I are doing great and have already been out to our cabin once for two and a half weeks. I am hoping we can go out at least once more if not two more times. I was hoping to have done quite a bit of ice fishing last time but it was way too cold most of the time. It was as low as 37 degrees below zero Fahrenheit which was just too cold for my tastes for ice fishing.
Glad you both are well and that you got to the cabin. Our winter in southern Ontario has been disappointing with warn temps and little snow. The lakes and rivers are not safe for travel by snowmobile. Thanks for replying. You made my day. If you ever find your way to this part of the world, look me up. I'd love to show you around.

Little tip to stop you burning your mouth with the hot mashed potatoes (or anything hot in a bowl):
Scoop a spoonful from the edge of the bowl, not the middle where all the heat is radiating from. The edge is always a little cooler.
