Which handheld would you recommend for warzone and overwatch. I am trying to decide between the lenovo legion go or the ally ?

You can turn off the online requirement for Windows games and then it only needs to check in like once a month. Also games from GoG are DRM free and do not require internet to play, ever.

It doesnt need internet to play games on steam but for Xbox/Microsoft games it needs internet

Great long-term review. I've loved my ROG Ally. It's not a perfect device, but it's the best one for me as a power user who wants slightly better performance than the Steam Deck offers.

@@VelvetMagician Yes I have, I'm not playing major aaa games so I got a 1 TB A2 Micro SD. I don't really need to go after the SSD right off the bat.
I bought Ally instead of the Steam Deck because I was worried that the SD wouldn't be able to run all my games nicely. Additionally, I'd heard that the SD can be pretty loud when it's under the load. The battery life wasn't a concern for me because I usually play at home and can easily plug it in when needed. Thanks for the video, it's great to see other people who also love this device!

Ive had mine since launch i did have it bluescreen one but never happened again and now updated the ssd to a 4th one. Its chamged my gaming habits.
Being a dad to a 6 year old my gaming time has got less and less over the last few years and i moved to a 1080 Ryzan 5 pc not long after my little one was born and sold my consoles because i just did not game often.
Since i got my ally im playing games with my son like Roblox and Minecraft but thwn finding myself playing more games for up to 60 mins most nights.
I also sold my pc and got myself a 3080 card for it and now get to play all games in 4k on my tv or 1080/720 on the go.
Looking at the go, claw and steamdeck im still glad i got the Ally.

I had a pretty rocky experience with my first 2 allys neither of which were sd card related. After fussing with best buy via a sloppy repair process and getting an r 8 model exchange that unit has been great. Constant updates and it's better than when I got it. I will say that I love having an ally. It's a great machine and allows me to play call of duty natively at work. I am however glad I didn't sell anything i.e. my shield TV or Xbox and replacing that with my ally. I'm just not convinced it's gonna last forever but maybe I just had some bad luck.
Had all the handhelds... i had to pick the Legion Go... it didn't need me to adjust my handles... screen is AWESOME... performance is perfect and is getting better... sound is my only gripe but its workable... its the comfort for me... i felt it to be the most comfy for me...

Great well made video but i vastly prefer the steam deck oled. The battery life and ease of use really makes a huge difference for me.
Idk man i have been tru 3 units already too many issues first one drifted in a week my second one the right joystic would only register up and down inputs and my 3rd one just never powered on my replacement has been running well so far but honestly it has lots of flaws plus the joystics are a bit too loose and battery sucks but i still rock with it everywhere i go its just been a headache owning this😅

I've had my rog from day 1, I love it I can compare it to my steam deck but no need I love my deck too, the ally for me is my travel pc handheld to play warzone,red dead and cyberpunk. The updates since day one just keep coming, I have a portable power brick from movespeed that's 130w I bought on sale from Amazon for $40, if my rog is at 100% and I plug in the portable charger to play 30w Manual mode it will add an hour of gameplay. So basically I can get 2hrs of gameplay connected to the power brick playing warzone at 30w manual with over 80fps+ on ultra.

I think we definitely need to shout out activision for such a well optimized AAA game. I worried about it being on a handheld but it is real impressive
Do you find that you hit the edge of the case sometimes when tapping the B button? I got the stock insignia one from BestBuy, but find it covers too much of the front and makes it look cheap.

I returned the Go twice. Loved the screen but the ergos, weight, heat, too many buttons and those thick long cheap triggers. Gave it a 2nd go as I felt that I rushed its first time use. Same issues still with next & returned it.
Getting a Legion Go 2 whenever that drops if they revise the issues. Excited for it!
Love my Ally, it replaces my XBSX, PS5, Gaming PC build and my gaming laptop. Sold all that, got the Ally and all its accessories. Anyone from like 5 to 50 is like yo what is that?! That’s cool!
Bought a 75W car adapter I use in the work truck, charge the phone too at the same time. Use 5g in CoD matches and still get top of the leaderboards. Loving this little beast!!!

FYI, just don’t change your power mode while in cod, that’s what triggers it, if it does. It may have been patched. I just never do, so I haven’t had any issues and use my main account.

I'd say this is one of / is the best on the market currently. Its easier to maintain / upgrade and straight forward with internals. Its a simple, yet complex and effective design. It gets the job done. It even works fantastic as a desktop replacement.
Did you have any issues with the SD card like overheating ? and the battery if it okay if you play will you plug in for long time no fat battery issue?
Great video. A little off when the new macbook pro’s come out next year or end of this year would you stick with the 14 inch again or go with the 16 inch ?
It's funny cause around the house I love the 14" form factor...and when traveling i like the smaller lighter form as well. But when traveling sometimes I do want the 16" variant. But 14" is the sweet spot but I might try a 16" to see what it's like to own again

Does the Rog ally have the same frame rates as the legion for all games or the other way around because I’m getting either so this week and I’m still don’t know which device I’m wanting
Love the Ally. I had the go but it was simply too big and the software was much worse. Goes great along side the Steam Deck too

I love my Ally. I’ve sold my desktop pc and got myself the crazy 4090 XG Mobile Dock. While it’s near unusable on battery, when plugged in or docked, it’s been a game changer for me. The 1080p, VRR IPS screen is also the *best* of the entire class, in my opinion. Better than the Steam Deck OLED, which I also own.

Wait, this doesn't have anything like Chiaki4Deck? You can use the native steam deck controls and it works flawlessly.

At first when I bought my Ally I did not expect much from a handheld and I knew the battery was not as good as the legion go. I enjoyed using it for 3 months but then bio updates came in and amd updates with windows and it started to mess up my games, some of them don’t even start or settings don’t even change. I personally think that ally right now for me it’s having driver issues and i tried everything. I’d say you get the legion go, it’s a little better in performance than ally, my brother has the go and I can tell. Maybe my ally is the only device that has bugs and I wish I would’ve gone for the go or at least a different ally that does not have problems. Other then than the ally feels good to hold and the screen is decent.
It would be super great if a physical switch was made for those consoles, a bit like oneplus phones, from which you can directly click to go to sleep mode or close the console. I hate those buttons that you have to hold down for several seconds for anything to happen
Had the Legion Go and traded it in for a ROG Ally; no regrets!
Yeah I returned the legion go and bought the ally. Ally is much much better and polished. Legion go is so fcking big and heavy. Can't play anything in qhd res on these handhelds anyway.

It's not only for gaming. You can watch videos on high resolution and also you can edit high resolution videos on that. That's why they give that high resolution on that device

facts rog ally is elite i return the oled steam deck it was to weak. ROG is the best handheld on the market the updates and new bios its smooth no issues in games..

As for windows handheld it's the best one for budget and performance but The Steam Deck OLED is by far the best overall handheld PC

I wouldn't say by far at all. I have both the Ally and the Deck and they're both great - it's hard to choose which one I prefer ... They both have their advantages .

It’s also my favorite it have everything you will want o honestly the game I play is elder scrolls online and I only play in the 15w mode I don’t like how hot it gets in turbo and honestly it’s gets hot 100 degrees is a lot even if website say it’s rate for that temp i may be fine but I never needed it and honestly never needed elder scrolls online runs at 1080p light and shadow low evrething also set to hight and view distance in the middle and the gps are at 100cap it plays super smooth and I can pls for about 2 hours off the wall at that power settings also set Brightness the low. I have some others games I try time to time Fortnite,warzone and some others and they all play good I even install works of Warcraft and install consoleport add on and I play wow classic all the way to level 60 perfectly fine max settings and looks sharp.

I tried call of duty and had a very bad experience, I played with the same settings on the Legion Go and had no problem
On my ally I’m getting 115 frames 900p low settings with fsr 3 set to balance.

Apparently later models don’t have the issue as much but it’s still there
thy adjusted the fan rpm curve for better cooling so the SD card won't get grilled. dunno if that was a valid fix though

Pretty much not competing against MSI, the performance is bad for MSI Claw but yeah, it just released and it need alot of updates like Ally did so first impression is looking not great, but dude, do something about the gameplay footage man, all you do is show CoD and nothing else. My opinion but the ROG Ally isn’t that great
Triggers are prone to full pull issues
Joysticks are win 3 modules and get drift easy plus they feel super loose making racing games hard to play
Bumpers are prone to abnormal clicking issues making one sound louder than the other
SD Card slot is prone to failure and in some cases taking your SD Card with it
It has some benefits like the size and weight plus the software is more mature but my legion go can do everything and more plus controllers are easier to replace and it can double as a tablet/ereader if you aren’t just into gaming and works great with videos and the kickstand
The legion go is best all round and has multiple uses but if you want only portability with good performance the ally is good but I can’t go back after using the go unless I needed something smaller or VRR

Lenovo legion go is better and more battery life. Better battery liglfe is logitech g cloud fpr emulator and cloud gaming. Its good for entertainment too use it for 10 hours of watching movies playing music 11 hours straight dont over heat like rag ally
I agree! I have both the LeGo and Ally! I use the Ally for gaming until the battery runs out. Then I switch to the LeGo. The LeGo is best for UA-cam, Movies, social media etc..... The LeGo's speakers are trash, no matter what you do.
