I mean look at it from Nolan's point of view if you have empathy. He is struggling with his whole worldview. "How is this better?" 1st) Viltrumites are essentially as close to demigods in their universe. They live for THOUSANDS OF YEARS, have amazing physical physics defying abilities and superior tech. They then decide to explore space and find out that every single species they come across is short lived, weak and essentially living in the middle ages compared to the Viltrumites. Of course you would develope a superiority complex of epic proportions. But wait... 2nd) The culture he was born, indoctrinated and raised in is a culture that very recently decided to kill off all the weak of there society. Weak in all metrics, meaning if you had empathy or compassion for anything lesser than a Viltrumite you needed to go. So Nolan has never cared about anything but his mission he belived so deeply in because why would he not? This man was having a breakdown experiencing emotions he never knew he had. Because.. 3rd) Nolan has lived for thousands of years by this point. I would probably guess like 2-4k but if it is any higher it proves the point even more. He was only on Earth for 20 years. 20 years compared to 2 thousands is quite small. Which is why I think most people take offensewhen he called Debbie a pet. I bet most see the pet comment as a dominant/submissive thing but I truly believe he meant it in terms of lifespans. There are people that truly love their pets like they are blood relatives but however when that pet dies, they will get another so they can have something to love and keep them company. They still love their pets with all their being. Love and emotions are new to Nolan. Debbie really got through to him on an emotional level, and it has only been 20 years, which is like a 3 day weekend compared to us.
I don't think nolan is a bad person, he's clearly fighting his basic nature and almost committed suicide because of it, he was raised that way and it was all he knew, the same way most humans will see a bug on the ground and step on it, that's how he was taught to view humanity
It's shocking how much this episode recontextualize Nolan as character and the ending of season 1. That fight alone, Nolan was TAKING IT EASY, if he can crush a fully grown vultrimite that's doesn't hold back, Mark should've been obliterated in the first hit if Nolan was actually trying to kill him.
He had been a planet conquering totalitarian monster, but a few decades on Earth with Debbie and Mark changed him. When he realised he had nearly killed his own son and called his own partner a pet . He wandered the galaxy and If he hadn’t seen that ship , he would have committed suicide by Black Hole. A death that defies any definition by any means because it is unimaginable. I don’t know what Nolan deserves, but I can appreciate wanting to leave something better by his final act.
Even after Nolan told Mark to stop holding back he was still holding back cause when did a back handed punch on the female viltramite he could have straightened his hand out like a karate chop and offed her head
Gonna play devils advocate here and say that we should keep in mind that Nolan grew up on a planet where murdering the weak and colonialism were encouraged. Just keep this in mind when you guys watch.
i love how the more superheroes' costumes you see, and the more of Nolan's costumes you see, the clearer it becomes that capes aren't really a thing and he's just a dork.
Nolan's reaction in this episode to everything he's done is fascinating to me. Imagine being a sociopath, raised a sociopath, on a planet of all sociopaths & then learning to feel empathy.
The reason mark is able to beat other viltrumites is due to the fact that the viltrumites have evolved to the point that they have no predators they will not fear death and will not produce adrenaline mark can
I think multiple situations happening at once is what makes it interesting and really gets me excited for the future because there will be a lot of anticipated story. Lots of good build up. Yall just gotta think about it without being narrow minded lol.
About that "feeling bad" thing...you probably can feel bad for him! In the history of viltrum he is the ONLY one EVER to abandon post. Earth isn't even his first post. Mark showing him humanity was what caused him to not only leave his post but also become the highest target of the viltrum empire. Nolan is the only viltrumite to show mercy or shame EVER Also he's been told for probably hundreds of years that any other species only exists to be conquered. People do crazy shit after only a month of brainwashing, this guy was told this stuff for several of our lifetimes.
7:03 Arguably the biggest mystery of the episode: how _do_ eyeglasses survive literal ground zero of an explosion powerful enough to disintergrate a house with just cracked lenses and a bent frame? 24:15 Well, given how quickly we've seen Mark recover from the _numerous_ beatings he's taken, it's safe to assume that Viltrumites have damn good healing factors. Also, remember that Mark's newly-discovered baby brother is nearby and is maturing quickly. He'll probably be able to communicate and help Mark out before long. 28:00 If y'all think Allen's dead, you _really_ haven't consumed enough comic-related media, lol. I barely know more about Allen than what I've watched in the show, and I figured right after his story ended that he's coming back somewhere down the line, and maybe even sooner than later.
26:17 from that level of damage, I don’t believe bleed out… one of the first misconceptions a lot of ppl have when looking into the story, is that the graphic, disembowelment-level damage should be fatal, which is true, unless your a species or have powers on par with a Viltumite. BUT yes, even a Viltumite can died and bleed out from similar damage, just must be severe enough…I believe Mark’s wounds are not…
This ep was insane! I did not expect this at all. When I was watching it, I was just like wtfff the whole time and I had to come here and see what other people thought and reacted to it lol
Interesting theory, robot eyes. So you're thinking all this time and he never once saw himself in the mirror without his glasses? He's also not going to bleed out. We have seen multiple times it will take a lot more than that.
This mid season break had me on edge if they did it at episode 8 id understand. If i remember correctly they did it so that the people watching can digest whats happened. That means the next parts of the season bout to be wild
i don't know the comics, so i probably just embarrass myself with this presumption but after watching my like fifth reaction i picked up for the first time how Nolan gave Mark the name Invincible, was seemingly never really concerned about him surviving and his book being named the man with the invincible gun. Maybe Mark really is invincible and was bread as a weapon.
I don't really want to be specific at all about what was said but one of y'all actually made a really accurate prediction for what omni man might do in the future!!!
Minor difference from the comics that I actually sorta hate-- When Mark wakes up after this fight, he finds that he's being treated by the Viltrumites. There's a number of reasons for this, but one that isn't going to spoil future events is that (I think) there was some implication of a strange code of honor Viltrumites have. Mark was seen as worthy of his heritage, so he was also seen as worthy of receiving Viltrumite medical aid lmao
If the story is like the comics. The rest of the show will be like this disjointed. Non linear story. It is short 2 to 4 episode stories over and over. Then an ending
I absolutely loved this episode it’s real crazy, one thing I do wanna say.. the guts, the head squish and the mouth kills are absolutely nothing compared to what happens in this show, viltrumites get seriously fuuucked up in this series…
The reason that Nolan’s kid looks more like him and very little like his mother, is likely just because the child is a male, if the child was female, the child would have taken on more of the mother’s appearance.
Well technically speaking, with relativity, it could have been a longer period of time for Nolan than it was on Earth. Idk if they ignore that science in this universe or not, but it's at least possible.
Idk if this makes scientific sense but their atoms make subatomic wormholes that make them breach the speed of light. So maybe that's an explanation for why he got there without aging much perhaps
A huge part of the invincible story is his redemption and you seem too 'locked in' to deal with that fairly. There'll be no point in watching more of these. Unsubbed
It's a bit like Guardians where they assemble a team, but Invincible is not similar to Guardians at all besides rag tag group of heroes. Y'all should really just read the comics until s2 part 2 comes out.
11:02 for little inconvenience They can say a baby "ugly"😂 And call omni-man a villain.. who's killing humans with the same mindset we kill chicken,Goat, fish for meat
I don't understand why people think Omniman wanted to take over Earth. He didn't do anything until Mark's powers showed up, and when they did show up, he was upset about it. The Viltrumites were going to come, Omniman wouldn't be able to stop them.
@@reynaldolorenzo8409well there’s no way earth that can prepare for viltrumites. The only way I see that happening is he had a bunch of viltrumite babies.

Even after Nolan told Mark to stop holding back he was still holding back cause when did a back handed punch on the female viltramite he could have straightened his hand out like a karate chop and offed her head
Not strong enough to do that even to a weak viltrumite *yet*
Maple took a big sip lmao
🤣🤣ay Maple out of pocket for "mantussy" lol 12:10
The baby's name is Oliver Nolan.
Gonna play devils advocate here and say that we should keep in mind that Nolan grew up on a planet where murdering the weak and colonialism were encouraged. Just keep this in mind when you guys watch.
"so why would you make a bug baby?"
BUGBABBY!
i love how the more superheroes' costumes you see, and the more of Nolan's costumes you see, the clearer it becomes that capes aren't really a thing and he's just a dork.
It's adapting the comics very well, it is building to stuff. Yes, the baby is alive, they hid deeper in the cave.
Could Donald have been spliced with Viltrumite DNA?
Viltrumites dont give a damn if he bleeds out he was weak anyway.
Haha when thula ate his elbow "whoever thought of that, that's crazy" I be thinking like that too when I watch shows 😂😂
Nolan's reaction in this episode to everything he's done is fascinating to me. Imagine being a sociopath, raised a sociopath, on a planet of all sociopaths & then learning to feel empathy.
The reason mark is able to beat other viltrumites is due to the fact that the viltrumites have evolved to the point that they have no predators they will not fear death and will not produce adrenaline mark can
Mid season breaks are one of the most frustrating things about any kind of TV series. I hated it when The Walking Dead did it and I still hate it now.
I think multiple situations happening at once is what makes it interesting and really gets me excited for the future because there will be a lot of anticipated story. Lots of good build up. Yall just gotta think about it without being narrow minded lol.
It’s all going somewhere you just gotta trust it. Plus this is only the halfway point of the season.
20:03 it’s kinda silly how the show chooses what can kill a viltrimite. It’s basically whenever it’s convenient
I didn't see any viltrumite die in this episode
@@justintuisamoa4191 I could be wrong but they gave the impression the black viltrimite was the only one who survived. Guess we’ll find out
@@bigpictureguys8415 No you can see they carry all of them back
@@excalibur2772 ahh. Good catch.
You sure it’s not their just bodies tho?
About that "feeling bad" thing...you probably can feel bad for him! In the history of viltrum he is the ONLY one EVER to abandon post. Earth isn't even his first post. Mark showing him humanity was what caused him to not only leave his post but also become the highest target of the viltrum empire.
Nolan is the only viltrumite to show mercy or shame EVER
Also he's been told for probably hundreds of years that any other species only exists to be conquered. People do crazy shit after only a month of brainwashing, this guy was told this stuff for several of our lifetimes.
Show is coming back in January according to leaks
7:03
Arguably the biggest mystery of the episode: how _do_ eyeglasses survive literal ground zero of an explosion powerful enough to disintergrate a house with just cracked lenses and a bent frame?
24:15
Well, given how quickly we've seen Mark recover from the _numerous_ beatings he's taken, it's safe to assume that Viltrumites have damn good healing factors.
Also, remember that Mark's newly-discovered baby brother is nearby and is maturing quickly. He'll probably be able to communicate and help Mark out before long.
28:00
If y'all think Allen's dead, you _really_ haven't consumed enough comic-related media, lol. I barely know more about Allen than what I've watched in the show, and I figured right after his story ended that he's coming back somewhere down the line, and maybe even sooner than later.
Lol this is like a wrong assumption speed run
26:17 from that level of damage, I don’t believe bleed out… one of the first misconceptions a lot of ppl have when looking into the story, is that the graphic, disembowelment-level damage should be fatal, which is true, unless your a species or have powers on par with a Viltumite. BUT yes, even a Viltumite can died and bleed out from similar damage, just must be severe enough…I believe Mark’s wounds are not…
I don't believe a viltrumite can bleed out anyways thragg didn't bleed out when he fought battle beast and he was cut to hell and back
This ep was insane! I did not expect this at all. When I was watching it, I was just like wtfff the whole time and I had to come here and see what other people thought and reacted to it lol
6:48 , Dangit Bobby
You girls _definitely_ aren't ready for the next episode if you haven't seen it yet. 😅
Interesting theory, robot eyes. So you're thinking all this time and he never once saw himself in the mirror without his glasses? He's also not going to bleed out. We have seen multiple times it will take a lot more than that.
You guys are hilarious, having read the comics I love hearing your guys thoughts and theories lol it’s abt to be insane !!!
So if Thraxans only live to 1 Earth year? How old is Andressa? Did Nolan get it on with a 4 month old?
I hate when my knives get bent on Jelly filled donuts
“Down the highway” was wild lmaooo
I have a feeling these two aren’t going to form the most nuanced opinion on Nolan this episode
Room temperature IQ
I wouldn't pay too much attention. Mark is reluctant too. And the one on the right did feel initially bad in the beginning
Everything you guess/theorized from 9:25-9:40 about Omni-man and if he cares or if it’s a trap…….is 100% incorrect. Not even close to being right.
The girl on the rights reactions are interesting for her first time watching
omniman was about to go into the blackhole himself but he saved the bug guys what a turn goes from lifes over to having a purpose again
“Guts man” is incredible 😂😂😂
“Ooo big Arthur fist” 😭😭😭
Loved your reaction to the midseason finale of Invincible Maple and Arianna.😃
22:04 maybe 😮😂. Great prediction
Omniman gets way too much hate. People simply not understand the situation he's in, and how good that he actually is.
Omniman is joining Mortal combat he needs a Finisher
Animators: Hold my beer
You guys like the mystery story telling device. It was a more linear story in season 1.
Man, they dialed the bug lady's design back. A lot.
Lol I've read parts of the comic, I know what you mean.
Mark can has a healing factor
All Vitrumites have a healing factor
that Grey’s Anatomy reference was hilarious and Arriana is not wrong
Minor difference from the comics that I actually sorta hate--
When Mark wakes up after this fight, he finds that he's being treated by the Viltrumites. There's a number of reasons for this, but one that isn't going to spoil future events is that (I think) there was some implication of a strange code of honor Viltrumites have. Mark was seen as worthy of his heritage, so he was also seen as worthy of receiving Viltrumite medical aid lmao
I like this more tho he's worthy but he actually put up a fight and wasn't completely out They knew he would heal just fine
omni man can hold his breath for weeks
If the story is like the comics. The rest of the show will be like this disjointed. Non linear story. It is short 2 to 4 episode stories over and over. Then an ending
Is Donald one of Cecil’s Viltramite experiments?
I absolutely loved this episode it’s real crazy, one thing I do wanna say.. the guts, the head squish and the mouth kills are absolutely nothing compared to what happens in this show, viltrumites get seriously fuuucked up in this series…
voice of General Kregg- Same as Yakone Clancy Brown
This is the only UA-cam partnerships that works…Maple & Arianna !!
Hahaha
The reason that Nolan’s kid looks more like him and very little like his mother, is likely just because the child is a male, if the child was female, the child would have taken on more of the mother’s appearance.
Well technically speaking, with relativity, it could have been a longer period of time for Nolan than it was on Earth. Idk if they ignore that science in this universe or not, but it's at least possible.
Idk if this makes scientific sense but their atoms make subatomic wormholes that make them breach the speed of light. So maybe that's an explanation for why he got there without aging much perhaps
voice of Lucan same as Samurai Jack.
So many biases in how you people approach everything Omniman does or says. Not everything is some master evil plan
it may have to do with how he wantonly murdered a bunch of people and nearly murdered his son.
A huge part of the invincible story is his redemption and you seem too 'locked in' to deal with that fairly. There'll be no point in watching more of these.
Unsubbed
20:00 you should react to Mortal Kombat Fatalities if you think that’s insane
He is in a failed termite so he’s not gonna do it
It's a bit like Guardians where they assemble a team, but Invincible is not similar to Guardians at all besides rag tag group of heroes. Y'all should really just read the comics until s2 part 2 comes out.
11:02 for little inconvenience
They can say a baby "ugly"😂
And call omni-man a villain.. who's killing humans with the same mindset we kill chicken,Goat, fish for meat
What?? The whole point of the show is that he DID want to take over earth until he has a change of heart..
Keep in mind that Nolan has been a conqueror and world destroyer for thousands of years the only difference isn't the live he shared with Debbie but the child Mark.
@@Alex-kd5xc I actually think the point of season 1 was that he didn't want to, but felt obligated to and was at a crossroads for it
Um, because he literally said so?
The next 4 episodes of season 2 should be coming in jan or feb.
