- So today I review a SUPERCHARGED Honda EP3 Civc Type R, now we wall know I have been vocal about not liking Hondas.. wow have I changed my mind.

So here is my review of the supercharged EP3, I was always the guy that wasn't a big fan of the Hondas, but this thing; with a new steering rack and the fact its got forced induction.. it is insane.

Honda are so underrated . People really don’t know about Hondas .
Some people hate the EP3, but this little car is already a classic, and their price will just increase with passing years. This says a lot!
People that don't enjoy Honda's tend to not know how to utilize the engine, people have become so used to turbo charger vehicles where the turbo does all the work and you don't have to really push the car, driving a vtec engine is just beautiful, you have to not be scared of the red line and just push your car.

@@mementomori2043 Sorry for the late reply 😂 but it depends on really what you find. After all it is a car which would have received a good thrashing. If u find a well kept one with full service history, ideally less owners the better, and ensuring its checked over and good, I don't see why it won't be worth it. I view cars like this: if it's a car you want and it ticks all the boxes and isn't ridiculously priced (because of course you need to check market pricing) then go for it. If you have to pay slightly extra for a better kept example, do it because in the long run it will be far better.
It's not that its underrated but most people that hate honda got they butt kick by a honda lol

Lovely car. I had a night hawk black EP3 Type R . I supercharged it with a Rotrex Supercharger. Only stage 1 as couldn't afford to rebuild the engine. However I fitted it with BC Racing coilovers, JDM rear anti roll bar. Wavetrac LSD. Front and rear strut braces. Lightweight O.Z Alleggarita Alloys. Engine torque damper. High pressure fuel pump, 750cc Fuel injectors, braided brake lines, upgraded discs and pads, stage 2 clutch, Hondata Kpro ECU, Tegiwa CAI kit. Fast road geometry set up. The Vtec change over was at 5,400 rpm(5,900 rpm standard). The rev limit was raised to 8,700 rpm (7,900 rpm standard). It was built and tuned by Eurospec2000. In Guildford. Made 337bhp and 225 lbs ft of torque. I favoured the Rotrex supercharger because its power delivery is in keeping with the high revving nature of the standard K20a. The Jackson Racing supercharger developes all its shove low down thus increasing heat and engine wear . It doesn't rev as high either. The lack of high rpms and increased heat mean less power produced. Jackson Racing is great if you want a 290 bhp EP3 that accelerates like a turbo EP3. Then runs out off puff/revs at 8000 rpm. The Rotrex has a linear power delivery. The power builds and builds as the revs rise. A 300bhp Jackson racing EP3 is hot and out of low end shove at 100mph. The rotrex is producing more power, less heat and pulls like a train above 100mph. I had 159mph out of my rotrex ep3 , 2 up on a Summers day. I was in 6th at 8000rpm. Still had 700rpm to go. The traffic became heavy and I bottled it. I believe the claims of 165mph. I have photos of my EP3 if people don't believe me.

One tip, if you want to drive fast round Rivvi, don’t do it in daylight hours.. you can’t see oncoming cars until too late. Or horse riders. Much better at night when oncoming headlights give you a early warning. That way you can pin it everywhere. As long as you know the roads that is 😉
If you know the road well, you should be able to do it day or night.

Jackson Racing are no more. Ditch the twin screw and get a Rotrex centrifugal instead. Dump the cat and fit an LSD. I Fitted a Rotrex to my EP3. 337BHP. 225 lbs ft of torque. I have photos.
Am glad you can finally appreciate these cars.. Ep3s are superior on a track also. Even without a supercharger.. Miss mine.. U hit the nail on the head also with turbod ep3s.. It takes a lot away from an ep3.. A supercharger is perfect

I went from a standard Vauxhall corsa D VXR to a Honda Civic FK8, unreal bit of kit. Honda only get so much hate because they do things the right way 👍🏽👍🏽

Is it just me or are the front and rear bumpers completely off colour? Bonnet gaps seem off also near headlights which seem out of aligment. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it being categorised but it would be nice to know that info before you flog it off for 14.5k. No hate just pointing it out, enjoy the content aside from that just an observation, still bought a ticket btw lol.
Pro Car Ireland the car was damaged 2012-13. Was never recorded as the lad fixed it himself.

Well you dont want it from this guy 😂, iv had ek9,ej9 ep3 ep2 and own a b16eg and a k24 eg, drove dc2 dc5 fn2 fk2 fk8 as well as 100s of ther brands after been in car sales and no one has ever said honda steering feels disconnected and in fact most praise honda for steering and gearbox been a involving experience, this guy is a plonk and chats shit 😂 and also changes his opinion based on a sponsorship to sell out, id look elsewhere mate

Not many cars will beat that combination for sound. Vtec combined with supercharger at 7-9000 rpm 👌🏼

Lee what cars have you bought where you cannot take it near red line think yr buying the wrong cars?! My Celica 2004 Facelift handles near redline fine, as well as RX7, RX8 and Hondas Ep3, S2000. I hear a lot of Porsche’s and R8 also high reving GT86 also fine to get near the redline. Might be because a lot of these cars are NA cars, but Turbo cars can also get high in the rev band I though? I imagine if you had Subaru or Evo that has had the engine tweaked, it may konk out but surely stock those cars can rev high right? I am not saying bounce off the Rev limiter but surely they can go to 6/7000RPM?

Used to own a supercharged ep3 about ten years ago too. Really miss it but had to sell because of having kids. Mine was decat and running 310bhp. Type in jrsc ep3 acceleration teaser and you get a little clip of mine

every supercharged car i’ve owned had instant power, C32 AMG been the best and pretty much cheapest 350bhp cars i can think of, i should get another and do some videos on it
Crazy. I own the actual supercharger that was made for that car. That kit is not supposed to be in that. Very cool still. I’m putting my kit on the mugen and it’s almost done.

I had an ep3 test drove FN2 was very disappointed.Felt very heavy and felt like handbrake was on
I've got an fn2, not a bad car. Handles ok and interior is nice. Not that quick though.
M Diddles 87 yeah I definitely prefer the interior of the FN2 but the EP3 is definitely quicker , I’m thinking of buying one of them ... gotta make my mind up haha

Everyone knows about cheaply built, budget turbo-civics. Less people have been in a properly built Honda, that's legitimately quick without feeling like you're going to die at any moment

@@K20TypeR I opted for the sport kit for reliability. The supersport kit is possible with a standard engine however TTS recommended strengthening the internals for peace of mind. My budget didn't stretch that far.

Saying a DC5 steering rack has no feedback is literally the biggest load of shit ever. EP3 has less due to being electronic. But there's a reason the DC5 was used in BTCC and Japanese Racing Series, so they obviously aren't 'awwwful'. 🤦🏻♂️
