The way you narrate is like listening to a dude telling a story which is slightly serious with a hint of romantic drama. Like a play from Shakespeare but more modern. Surprisingly pleasant.

I would love to see what you do with porcelain, it's a material I love and have spent months developing my own slip body that I use in my casting. I designed the body to cast well but with enough elasticity that I can pull and manipulate it right out of the mold. I see the repetition of a slip cast piece as only the starting point for what you can do with the ware.

Sensei, while this is an older video to comment on I saw an area where some advice from a student might help. To help with the air compressor noise you can set up another vertical storage tank and run it in tandem with your current setup. It will give you more volume to play with while reducing the amount of times your compressor needs to operate (thus reducing the duty cycles increasing the life / service of your compressor) and while your need may be singular now you may expand into different areas where compressed air usage might increase. Ive been thinking, a large particle sprayer to add precise even coats of glaze to pieces and then applying another less precise coating might create interesting effects. Anyway, love your work and the snippets of wisdom about the idea within / behind / and spirit of the art.

Hi Florian. I've started going down the rabbit hole of watching your videos and I'm really enjoying them. I've signed up for a wheel class. I do find your comments at the end where you mention being impressed by the other artists amusing. I've dabbled on photography but I'm always comparing myself to other photographers. I suppose that's common amongst artists, feeling like you won't ever measure up to your peers.

To combat the shelf boards warping/getting moldy… have you considered lacquering them? A couple of coats of polyurethane (or shellack, if you prefer natural) should insulate the boards from any moisture which would cause warping and/or mold. Of course, if you need the "raw" wood surface, that wouldn't be an option. If you're unsure, you can always just try it out with one or two boards and weigh the advantages.
