Was shocked to see this interview is 4 years old. What an amazing man John Waters. I will be reading his books. I am British born of full Irish heritage. We moved back to Ireland in 1974. Returning to the UK in 1980. For years I have said do the Irish not see the mistakes England has made. As John articulated Ireland a country oppressed for 1000 years, having fought and won its independence. Within 100 years intends to enslave its people again. My Grandad fought the good fight at the beginning of the 1900's. People of Ireland wake up and take back that wonderful country before its gone for ever.

Wonderful interview. John Waters' is an inspiration and 100% right in that there are plenty of people who remember their history and appreciate what previous generations had to endure to give us our freedom. If the likes of Varadkar, Martin, MC Entee etc think they can take it away from us they are in for a big surprise.
I've lived abroad in America for quite some time and it was very obvious to me when I heard our politicians sound more like American politicians. My home town, a rural village, is a violent mess. My neighbors husband got stabbed just walking his dog. Every time I go home Ireland is less and less a place I recognize. It's a stage prop of Ireland. 😔

@@vibes..585 I live in a small fishing town, it reminds me very much of Ireland, in fact not too far from here there's an island that still speaks Irish (it belongs to Canada though). Bad weather and the sea have, up until recently, protected it from nonsense. Lately I've noticed the same insidiousness try to push their way in but the people here are tough. Apart from the fact that they don't just fling open the doors to welcome everyone in, if you pull a knife on someone here they don't call the cops and you may not be walking away to tell the tale. Better or worse? 🤷♀️ The problem here also is tourism. They come to see a beautiful place, then buy second homes they only use for 3 months out of the year and slowly destroy the community they loved to death. They don't assimilate AND THAT'S PEOPLE FROM THE SAME COUNTRY! Ironically, it's their ancestors that learned from Irelands last invasion.
