From the EU’s website (dated 29/4/24): “Today the Council adopted three pieces of legislation that will reform the EU’s ECONOMIC AND FISCAL GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK. ‘The main objective of the reform is to ensure sound and sustainable public finances, while promoting sustainable and inclusive growth in all member states through reforms and investment. The new legislation will significantly improve the existing framework and provide effective and applicable rules for all EU countries. They will safeguard balanced and sustainable public finances, increase the focus on structural reforms and investments to spur growth and job creation throughout the EU. I remember when the UK government pushed through joining the EMU (European monetary Union). I remember it because it pushed the interest rate sky high just after we had brought our first home and had out first baby. It pushed our mortgage way out of our price range (as it did with many) I was among those who got repossessed. We worked years ( 2 jobs) - into our 30s, to have a home of our own to raise our family and lost it all because of German rules! Never managed to get it back either. Thats why I voted for Brexit when I had the chance.
@@DerekLangdon It's really quite simple. The EU is acting (and always has been) as a steering committee to bring about the political unification of its member states into one big country, provisionally entitled "The United States of Europe" (their term, not mine). This first appeared in 1952. Jean Monnet, founding father of the EU (speech to National Press Club, Washington 30/4/1952): “We are determined to unify Europe and to unify it quickly. With the Schuman Plan and the European Army we have laid the foundations upon which we shall build the United States of Europe.” (The European Army is being put together right now under the terms of Lisbon Treaty Article 42.3). Declassified documents, released in 2001, showed that “the US intelligence community ran a campaign in the Fifties and Sixties to build momentum for a united Europe. It funded and directed the European federalist movement.” The documents revealed that “America was working aggressively behind the scenes to push Britain into a European state.” George Ball, Under-Secretary of State to John F. Kennedy: “America would welcome it if Britain should apply for full membership, explicitly recognising that the Rome treaty was not merely a static document, but a process leading towards political unification.” A succession of treaties followed, to progress this gently so that no-one noticed. Romano Prodi, dated 1999: "The single market was the theme of the Eighties; the single currency was the theme of the Nineties. We must now face the very difficult task of moving towards a single economy, a single political unity.” The French and the Dutch electorates voted against the European Constitution in 2005, which was the blueprint for the federal state. Undeterred and by their own admission, the EU simply rewrote it as the Lisbon Treaty and got all Prime Ministers to sign it without the pesky involvement of democracy, including Gordon Brown. Constitutional experts on the Tory back benches cried 'Foul', because Brown had handed over the country without the required referendum. Cameron called one to shut them up. We voted Leave by electoral majority, even after the EU and the Remain campaign had swept their federal and military intentions under the carpet in order to hoodwink the British electorate into voting Remain. The EU continues down its self-destructive path towards a federal European state, despite having absolutely no democratic mandate to do so. It is a recipe for absolute disaster, another (giant version of) Yugoslavia.

Who guides them on the journey. Who finances their trip. Who feeds them on the way and gives them shelter. They have to have backing and it has to be well organised.
The nonsense of illegals having 5k in their back pocket to pay for their journey here needs to be totaly debunked..also the nonsense of how dangerous the crossing is...people swim the channel regularly .it is only dangerous if 50 people try to cross on a dingy that has a capacity for 20 people

We had great wealth up to 2008 and we behaved like an Italian in a whorehouse with a credit card and squandered the wealth....now we're so busy solving everyones problems to convince everyone we're the best little boys and girls in the EU...while our own needs take second place to immigrants who have brought crime and misery as they are inflicted on us with no consultation and a govt. that won't listen. Thats why I voted for Brexit when I had the chance.
This is getting heavy now guys. I’m totally perplexed!!!
It funded and directed the European federalist movement.” The documents revealed that “America was working aggressively behind the scenes to push Britain into a European state.”
George Ball, Under-Secretary of State to John F. Kennedy: “America would welcome it if Britain should apply for full membership, explicitly recognising that the Rome treaty was not merely a static document, but a process leading towards political unification.”
A succession of treaties followed, to progress this gently so that no-one noticed.
Romano Prodi, dated 1999: "The single market was the theme of the Eighties; the single currency was the theme of the Nineties. We must now face the very difficult task of moving towards a single economy, a single political unity.”
The French and the Dutch electorates voted against the European Constitution in 2005, which was the blueprint for the federal state.
It is strange ; as the headland says, all those years to seek Irelands independance and then hand such over to the EU !
