Great video. I've been using the UR242 for years and I am very familiar with the Guitar Amps Classic. In my opinion, every amp vst available today sounds WAY better than this. It is convenient to use for latency free playing while direct monitoring while recording guitar tracks, but only recording the di guitar signal itself for processing after the fact in your DAW. It would be great if you could turn off whatever cabinet emulation they are using and use any of the third party ir's available as it would greatly improve the sound. All these Yamaha Amps included sound like cheap solid state amps. I do love and use Cubase and the UR series however. The guy doing the demo is VERY talented musician. Just watch any of his videos for Cubase, great stuff. The DspMixFX interface he is showing here is not accessible when using Cubase. The same functionality is available via Cubase but a little tricky to use if you don't read manuals.

Awesome. I was just recently wondering about how to do this, and thinking that Dom would be the perfect person to ask. Turns out he already made a video about it. I haven't used the dspMixFX and the Amp Classics yet, because I didn't really understand what it was for. But now I want to give it another try. 7 thumbs up for Dom.

I would really like to see Steinberg update these sims. They are over a decade old, and they are way outdated. Given that Yamaha owns Steinberg and Line 6, it seems like it would be easy for them to give us a few Helix-based sims!

I enjoy my Steinberg ur22c interface. The normal recording latency is average and the DSP guitar effects are very digital sounding. I use the lead channel mostly for riffs.
The DSP is great for jamming or practice in most cases but it’s hard to beat the sound of a real tube amp miced up with the overtones and harmonics they produce. Cubase is a awesome DAW and hard to beat and very stable with win 10. 🤗

Hi Dom. I'm using the ur44c and would love to use pete thorns amp plug in through the dsp. Does steinberg have any plans to update the software that allows you to add in third party amps... that would be killer if they could. Thanks.

Is there a limit on how many Yamaha's Rev-X effects I can use as DSP-based VST plugins?
