You're welcome. I clearly stated in the video to make a note of your old service history and backup file first. If the old service history was deleted by someone else before you, then there's nothing you can do to bring it back. However, any bmw dealer service history can be brought back when you ask your dealer.

How did you manage to delete service history in the first place? Bmw wouldn't give you information on the phone, you need to take your car for service and they will update it from their online database. And surely you'll have to pay for it.
No idea to be honest🤔 never heard or experienced anything like that. I know that idrive service works just fine from 2014 onwards, so it might be the car not supporting it fully. Another thing is that the software may not be fully functional, so I'd try another version from a different source.
I have a problem with F21 2017 with base radio, but the latest graphics, the most recent one of the F20, I prepared the File with all the services copied, both those in BMW and the last homemade service, and it disappeared in my menu the possibility to see the historical interventions. Does anyone know the answer to my problem? Thank you
last service done by the dealer and warranty is expired now, they forgot to update idrive for the last service i've done, so this became useful for me to update it myself since they forgot to. But my worries now that they also forgot to update on the fab key!
I would take the car back to your dealer and tell them to update it. You must have your receipt for the service they've done, so make them correct their mistake. You can then continue using this software for your service records if you service the car yourself.
Great vid. Does this also sync/update BMW's central database or is this just a local update to the vehicle? I have a leased car from BMW and any servicing requires an iDrive and central database update. Thanks
Thanks for your comment🤠 unfortunately this software doesn't sync to bmw central database which is done through your remote key. It is only stored locally on your car and this is a big disadvantage for leased cars 😔

Hi, thanks for the compliment 🤠 Not sure if the quality of cable makes a big difference really. The Enet cable I'm using is not the best but I'm sure it works fine. Maybe reinstall the software from link here (the version I use) and make sure you have Java installed on your laptop, car ignition is on, then try again. If still not working I'd try another cable.

Looks like you understand it correctly. Unfortunately there's always a loop hole in the system and some people will always try to cheat. However, this software can't write service history onto your car key, so you can always verify it at a bmw-mini dealer. My intention is simply to avoid costly bmw dealer service and keep record of all the services I carry out on my car. Did you have to have anything else installed? I’m struggling to get this to work. Fresh copy of windows with Java and this installed and I’m getting 10051 network unreachable. I’ve found some people mentioning Ediabas. Do you know if anything else is needed for this to work?
What about if I don’t want to remove previous service history from the original bmw dealer and just add mine on top? Do I just uncheck erase old service data?
Unfortunately this software deletes all service data on idrive when you write any new data to the car. That's why I suggest you make a copy of all previous service history and keep a copy of it. Then you can add a new service data on top later.

In addition to the service manager program, is that any additional programs or drivers needed? I have an Ethernet to obd cable , but do I need a usb to Ethernet adapter ?
You don't need anything else. Make sure your laptop runs latest Java, and if ethernet connection doesn't work you can get an adaptor for it. Ethernet to usb adaptor.
Milage altering is a very sophisticated way of cheating people and it gets easier and easier with the help of new tech. So best thing is to read all the MOT info carefully. Since you can't ask the seller to pop into a bmw dealer or hand out the key to you to verify/check milage or any other background, you just need to take a good scanner tool or your laptop with ista to carry out as much checks as possible.

If you can change a bulb 💡 you can service your car with the right information and guidance. When you take you bmw to dealer for service, they upload your service history both on the idrive and car key. Bloody control freaks try to push you to corner as hard as possible, that's why I never take my car to bmw service.

You can reset the service using ista as well but my way in video is much easier and you don't need to connect to anything.

Mine won’t detect my car - any tips on where I’m going wrong?
Only thing I can think of is a bad connection somewhere between pc and car. Possibly a bad enet cable. Also try restarting your pc and software.

Hi, no this would only write service history on to idrive. You need to reset service intervals using the single physical button on cluster instrument.

Does this software work with a Bluetooth OBD2?
No it doesn't

You need a laptop to use the software and enet cable to make the connection. Unfortunately bluetooth adaptors don't work.

It works perfectly on all F series up to 2017. Newer models may not be supported so it would wipe out the history without writing a new one.

You're very welcome mate 👍 whole purpose of the channel is to help people to break the ties with dealerships and mechanics (Scammers). If you can change a bulb 💡 you can service your car with the right information and guidance. As for your question, unfortunately there's no other software or hardware that can do this service history at the moment. Only dealerships and this software.

What do you mean when you say "service information on the key"?
When you take you bmw to dealer for service, they upload your service history both on the idrive and car key. Bloody control freaks try to push you to corner as hard as possible, that's why I never take my car to bmw service.
@@bmwsolutions7880 that’s interesting as I took mine in this morning to have the history updated and the service woman plugged the key into a machine.. wondered what that was for, albeit a little paranoid lol
