Always evolving... so true. I'm 62 and I know everything... I've learned so; far but the most important thing I know is that I don;t know it all. I can learn from anyone and all knowledge is wasted if it isn't shared. And the one constant that never changes is that things always change. BTW, I heard 'six pairs of gloves' and did a double take; then I remembered it gets chilly where you live and cold wet hands are useless, even dangerous things to have. One thing you learn operating in extreme environments is that Mother Nature doesn't piss about.
Glad I'm not the only one that can't see the point in tourniquet. Always thought that if shits gone that bad you're not going to get over an injury that bad anyway! Great stuff as always
All that med shyt is just ppl emulating what they see others doing w/o processing why.. Avoid them because they are probably emulating far worse things that are going to invite bad things to happen.
My brother in law, a truly deserving type, was recently shot with a handgun on a major street in broad daylight. The only medical related thing happened to be a tourniquet. The round nicked the artery in his lower leg/ankle. The tourniquet was applied, he made it to the hospital about 90 minutes later. He was trying to avoid police for as long as possible. It saved his life for now. It was in my truck that my wife was driving because I work as an industrial electrician, and mechanical amputation can happen to careless equipment operators, most of which are young. I am also on the mine's fire/rescue team. I keep 1 in each vehicle, each ifak, and my tool pouch. If you need 1, you need it now, not 20 minutes later when help arrives. You can also stay in the fight longer if need be. Why not try to express your gratitude before cashing out? As to my brother in law, he was the victim as far as cops are concerned. Unemployed behavior will get you unemployed results. Just a thought. Turd magnet got hit about 3 weeks ago.
I picked up the modifying kit habit from watching your channel, after a point it becomes impossible just to accept it as it comes when you can improve it with a little effort. The current project is a Norwegian Telemark pack mixed with a 70s pack frame and parts of a British made Karrimor pack. Those Survival knives are great pieces of kit.
Outstanding! Yeah, mate- I like to say to ppl that if you aren't mod'ing your kit, you're probably not using it enough.. The military and outdoor companies make things just good enough to get by and keep prices low. IMO this never translates into a well round bit of kit... Happy Yule from Alaska!
Nice gear run down, man. I recently found a good deal on an MOD knife made by Sheffield in the UK, I took it out the other day for some training and I really liked it. It's a beast of a knife. I agree with your stance on medical kit, we're not going to have a field hospital and any kind of medical facility will most likely be destroyed or in the hands of the enemy anyways. Again, thinking like a civilian evader and not military. Hope you get to hit the woods soon. We've had very little snow in NW Montana with none in the forecast for the next week which is odd for this time of year, but I'll take it.
Ive been preaching that for years but the YT celebrity clows talk louder than me and everyone still thinks they're gonna be kicking in doors with their full med kits and hundreds and hundreds of rounds of ammo when the hammer drops.. Most ppl will be lucky to have a CMA in their team, let alone a medic or a fuking doctor with kit. Anyhow I hope I get out soon too. When the weather clears, I have no time for it but as soon as I pack my shyt we get nailed with back-to-back record-breaking storms. Im starting to take it personal!
I just have stumbled across your channel. I agree with you about first-aid kit. That's how I look at it. A tourniquet is just to keep you conscious. And in the fight. Until your teammates can get away. Black Flag. If you know you know.

I'm doing something similar to what you are doing with a light kit and ordered a sling bag primarily for those times I might get caught by the weather.
Dude this weather is insane.. I'm starting to take it personal! If the weather is clear I have no time to get out because of normal life. As soon as I packed my shyt we get hit with storms over and over.. 😁😁 I guess the stars and planets will align at some point and Ill be able to get out..

Great stuff as usual man. Does the satchel cluster up your situation with a ruck? I’ve been trying to slim down my kit and saw the Helikon Claymore bag the other day and it’s tempting. My setup right now has a small day pack I stow under the lid of my ruck but I am always on the lookout for another, lighter way. Ain’t getting any younger LOL

IMO there are better options but Ill use what I have for the now. I think it will be OK so long as I dont load it too much. IMO if you go this route dont use the one I have. @@Evasion.Survival.Alaska Thanks for your input man! There’s at least $600 worth of stuff I want from helikon at the moment but that Claymore bag may be it for a moment. As always, you kick ass!
Ive been there many times. The video clip was just another trip where I was heading from the Uk to Hungaria for some "activities" .. That was my last trip there before I came to Alaska a few months later. When I lived in Austria that was my 5 or 6th trip to Europe and before my last trip.. I came home because the oppression/politics was just too much. I wasn't born into their society, so I saw what they couldn't. Me being me I wasn't comfortable with it at all.. What they saw was seen as normal but for me it was as a huge WTF. I remember walking around Salzburg with my Austrian camo parka on and getting sideways looks and face.. you can fill in the rest.. 😀 Dont get me wrong I LOVE Austria and its ppl- just not the cops or politicians..
