Receiving satellite signals / decoding weather images at bus stop with RTL-SDR & simple V-DIPOLE

- [ENABLE CAPTIONS] In this video I am catching satellite signals at the bus stop :-) You can see my equipment in live action - laptop, antenna, rtl-sdr dongle and how to receive satellite signals and decode images from NOAA satellites in easiest way. Only cheap 15$ RTL-SDR dongle + V-shaped dipole and SDRSharp application is needed for recording. To decode signals I am using with NOAA-APT to convert raw data to weather images.
In the video I am using Windows 7 PC, but it can also be Ubuntu or other Linux.
My V-dipole antenna was headed South direction . It is best to capture these satellite images on open space with no objects like buildings around you to get the best results. Remember it must be clear weather with no clouds since they are blocking signals. In this video I was able to capture only 2,5 minutes of single because laptop battery died, however you can still see how to do it.

I have made v-pole antenna. Using nooelec product LNA. Using RTL-SDR. Using SDRSharp software. To receive FM radio broadcasts to function properly, it's must use the LNA above. But after several weeks of trying to receive pictures of NOAA15, NOAA18, NOAA19, MetopB, MetopC, never got a good signal at the working frequency of the satellite. The reception location is in the middle of a field, an open area without obstructions (houses, trees). I have adjusted all parameter settings (frequency, bandwidth, etc.). Where do you think my mistake is?
i think there is some kind of impedance mismatch or poor contact issue between the antenna and sdr dongle

Hi, for trunking radio you need two RTLSDR dongles with old chips R820T. Then you will be able to use SDRTrunk software. I currently have only one old unit so I am unable to prepare such video now but I will do that in the future.

This one is R820T2 based and I was having problem with this unit under SDRTrunk application.. At least my device was not discovered there. The one with R820T was detected and worked.
