Decoding high-quality images from Meteor-M LRPT || Satellite reception pt.3

- In this video I describe the process of receiving, recording, decoding, and also some basic processing of digital images transmitted by the Meteor-M N2 weather satellite. The images offer a much higher quality compared to their APT counterparts, while at the same time not requiring any more complex hardware to receive.
A lot of the information from the previous video about APT is relevant.

Current support of LRPT in LeanHRPT is in early stages, and as such the versions that support it have to be downloaded from the following link:
drive.google.com/file/d/18r0v...
Once the support is officially implemented the links will be replaced by their relevant GitHub releases:
Demod: github.com/Xerbo/LeanHRPT-Demod
Decode: github.com/Xerbo/LeanHRPT-Decode

18:34 - Decoding and processing

For those want to use the new version of LeanHRTP-Demod, the lrtp downlink is not available in the newest versions. However, if you build it by yourself you have to switch to the lrtp git branch.
thanks for pointing that out, I've been working on a fork of LeanHRPT-Demod that merges the features from the different branches into one, including LRPT, and hopefully that will get merged with the main repo, but currently as you can imagine it's low priority due to the lack of LRPT satellites
once Meteor-M N2-3 launches expect to see an update video and an actually fully working version of LeanHRPT to go with it
@@dereksgc Thanks! Looking forward to it!
Good job on your last articles, Thanks Derek!
Thank you for making this video!!
Very good and very useful video. Thank you so much! Cheers!
Hope you'll make a video about Meteor -M 2-3 when it will be launched.
Hi
I just watched your weather satellite series and it was really helpful and great. Are there any meteor satellites that still work?
By the way, today was the launch of the new Meteor-m N2-3, I hope you will make a video about it.
It will take a few days before lrpt activates, I have a predicted pass of this satellite today around 8 pm but not sure I'm gonna make it
@@dereksgcit is now active.
waiting for hardwere wideo
not more picture reception from Meteor :(
Once/if the new satellite is launched I will cover it ASAP!
New Meteor satellite has been launched about 3 days ago, but LRPT from it is somewhat weak.
@@rawexploiterp6951 currently waiting for some official info about the LRPT status
@@dereksgc I believe we both are just collecting this M2-3's passes right now. There are news article on the Roscosmos website titled "First Images off of Meteor-M 2-3,". And I found some file on Google indicating there's transmission of OQPSK 72k LRPT at 137.9 MHz from it. Although the LRPT signal is weaker than APT, I haven't been able to decode any data yet even with my personal best SNR of 8. It's a bit disappointing, but I remain enthusiastic about the hobby.
Unfortunatelly your video not clear and bad picture..sorry. So it could make me difficult to understand .
can you tell me what is not clear from it? once Meteor-M N2-3 launches I will most likely be making another one so I can go over the things better
