You may not be a trained carpenter, as you said, but you are definitely skilled! Your attention to precision and detail are quite impressive-both in your home building and with the quality of your videos! Love them both.
I repeat....it's exciting to watch your little home being built by you (all by yourself!). Something very rewarding in creating and building your own place. Thanks for sharing your journey!
I love watching your working process. Methodical and admitting if you make errors rather than hiding them from the camera. It makes me laugh when people say cutting by hand will be ‘inaccurate’… I’m guessing they turn a blind eye to the centuries we have constructed buildings which still stand with no power tools. Good luck with the speedy build and here’s to a fantastic 2025 for your projects!
It's amazing how quickly this house is going up. Well done Andres! Also nice to see you a little slower / calmer. Once the roof is up and protects the structure from the weather it will be even more relaxed I am sure. Keep it up. Looking forward to the next one.
Oh Anders, please use a safety harness of some sort next time you are on the roof. If you fall you could be lying there a long time before someone finds you! Again I applaud you and your determination and workmanship, well done. Lx
I TOTALLY agree! I saw the shot of you walking/climbing up two rafters to the top and I cringed. The first - and most important - thing in carpentry is SAFETY.
For those interested C24 is a strength class of the wood, it does not mean quality. C stands for Conifer, which is usually a pine or a spruce. And 24 stands for 24 N/mm2, which is a strength class of the wood. It goes from C14 to C40. The reason he uses C24 is because it's the easily accessible structural wood. The structural engineers know it's widely available and because of this reason they use it in their calculations. Like in his case.
Amazing and inspiring what 1 person can achieve. I admire your persistence and skills. Of course with the support of your lovely dog😍. Love your journey and excellent that you celebrate it too. Cheers.
It's amazing what you have been able to accomplish on your own! I hope you make sure you are being careful also! Your new home is going to be so lovely! Hope you enjoy your parties that you are going to! Have to have fun once in a while! :) All the way from a very little town in South Dakota! Keep up the awesome videos! :)
I’m glad you were able to get the roof rafters up on your timeline. You should be able to get the tiny house dried in really soon if you keep to your schedule.
Hahaha to the folks who said hand tools are not as precise as power tools. I lived near a Buddhist temple in the San Francisco Bay area as a teen. This temple was built entirely by hand using traditional tools and no nails. Straightest walls I've ever seen. I suspect the acuracy of any tool depends on the diligence of the carpenter. It's lovely to watch your progress.
That's so cool. I love following your progress. Looking forward to see how the new house will look like ☺And as many others said - it is really impressive that you are doing all of that all by your own. You make me consider living a very simple life somewhere in the woods later in my life as well. Looks lovely. Best wishes from Norway ✌
I've found that I can do sort of precise cuts with Japanese saws (since they cut on the draw), but I still find it fascinating how quickly and precise you work with wood. Do you switch saws often do you use a sharpener? Awesome build, lovely video! It's always fun to see that we have similar traditions (we'd call it a Richtfest in German I guess) - hope you can still find the time to enjoy December! Good luck with the weather and all!
Unfortunately, I can’t sharpen the saw since this type of metal is too hard. So you’ll have to buy a new one when it’s done, I’m afraid😊Thanks for the kind words - and also for sharing!! It’s fun to see that we have the same tradition across countries and cultures!
All your measuring and all you have done looks so amazing , it just goes to show using a tape measure and getting all the right calculations has worked in your favour 👍❤
Amazing. I am concerned about you crawling on the roof. Hopefully you have a phone if you should slip. Love watching you work. Merry Christmas from Tennessee, USA
Very satisfying seeing the progress each week Anders well done, when we are over visiting our son who lives in Denmark at Christmas time we all ways have your traditional Christmas drink Gløgg, you deserve a few this weekend, enjoy 👍
Thanks Mark - again!!😊And yes, I actually just got me some Gløgg today after having spend five hours getting metal plates for the roof! Now time for some gløgg and “hygge”😊
Your worked with organized system. Clean and very patient….cant wait to see the final house where everything you need in a tiny house is inside the house . As usual great content !!!
Great work on the roof raising! I am toasting you from Chicago, USA :) In my opinion, power tools can be faster for really big jobs, but they also help you make really big mistakes instantly, LOL.
Cheers and Skol. 🍻 Beautiful job. Definitely inspiring, thank you. I prefer hand tools as well appreciate the tips. We used hand tools for way longer than we have used power tools, that's for sure. The guiding tip will help me. Still determined to build my own little tiny one day when I find the right property. Roof raising party would be appropriate in English I think. Why did you hang that wreath from the rafters? Thank you again for sharing your journey with us. 😊🏡
Thanks!! I hope that these videos can be of some inspiration then😊Cross my fingers for your project🤞🤞Haha, that’s just a tradition when you’ve put the roof up. I think it brings good luck - and I think I will need that😅
@@andersboisentinyhouse I love that tradition, that's cool. My ancestors are from Danmark. So I always love learning things about the culture there.😊🇩🇰
I can only agree to everything that gloriaincalifornia wrote! I am a cabinetmaker by trade and your work is really impressive! It is a bit sad watching you holding your rejsegilde ( på tysk Richtfest ) alone. Well at least your dog was giving you company. I love seeing your house and live progress. All the best from Germany from Gabi
when you think of how many hundreds, at least, of years, carpenters and builders worked without power tools, it's ridiculous to say that you can't be as accurate. It's also seen in your wreath which is hanging plumb from the rafters. I expect to see that little tree to the side of the house to be decorated soon. Keep up the good work. Enjoy your various parties.
So incredible seeing you build this by hand all on your own! Amazing Not sure what its called here in the UK - But in New Zealand, when the roof goes on, its called 'A roof shout' and someone buys a box of beers 💚✌🌿
Progress and a lot of physical work paying dividends. Celebration for sure is well-deserved.. So pleased your goals are working out..
