Monster Magnet - Monster Magnet [EP] (1990) 1252pm 6.9.22 i concur... irrespective of band thoughts on who enjoys what they achieve musically... a really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really nice record. the early sessions which magnet released on cassette are equally worthy of my time. i couldn't have been around at a better time - musically speaking. and all via the german sound which was glitter house (not to be confused with glitterbest) and amphet reptile and sub-pop. no idea why they so insist on being folky now, though... the guys at sub-pop, i mean... cracklin' nut crud this is not.
I could drive out to the middle of the desert, no one around for miles. Turn this up so Loud the ground shakes, smoke one bowl after another and watch the snakes dance.
At one time I had this on CD...and my 27 year old CD of Spine of God is finally at the end of its lifespan after hundreds of plays. "Bought another copy of Fragile..."

memories of the 90th grade and the 90s. good times. they went commercial after this album with a major label MTV n wrecked it all. my friends n I were so looking forward to the next album like kids on Christmas and we were so disappointed when it did

I was also impressed by this release, plus the fact that Wyndorf seemed to know what he was aiming for from the get-go.
A bit of a shame that Murder and Lizard Johnny and Freakshop USA never saw rereleases on ulterior albums. Then again it's beautiful that they remain trapped in time like this. Copied from an old casette and digitized directly to mp3 and landing on the internet. Very transcendental format

damn damn damn ⚡WE know. I missed their 1st local show fronting Soundgarden but caught August 1993 in Vancouver ( Raging Slab & Paw in support) and March 1995 Montreal (Fu Manchu first major tour in support) McBain / Cronin years are my fave ✌ TU.
jeez! early Monster Magnet fronting Soungarden sounds like the epitome of talent if you ask me. McBain crafted one of the best guitar sounds I ever heard - melodically and tone-wise.
Just in case you didn't get the chance check out Wellwater Conspiracy and Hater. They're made up of McBain, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd.

It all changed when Dave Wyndorf stopped partying. The magic he tapped into was denied when drugs and alcohol were no longer part of his scene
Powertip was probably the last of anything good from this band except maybe Silver Future . Thanks for this upload , revisiting this is a treat
right on ! I just returned for another hit ! On the regular, lol. Dave plays , I do not so even tho I may think early scene is best HE is still doing and I only dreaming, lol. I am sad to have missed McBain/Cronin tour I did see two early concerts of MM. Peace.

Monster Magnet - Monster Magnet [EP] (1990) for the sake of appearances, you bastards... the quickest i have made it into town is 37mins flat - walking not via public transport - lest the asswipes or asswangs suggest i didn't get there on time... anyhow; what the hell my going to sign for my welfare has to do with this or them, i do not know. safe to say my moneyis spent wisely - on shit like this... cool. p.s it's a fine record. dunno if the new release by monster magnet is old hat recordings via godunknown records or whether it's new gear. you wil be able to tell me, i surmise...
