This is what happened when a true punk kid from New Jersey starting dropping acid, met Tim Cronin and John McBain and began writing songs about Pteranodons and the Bull God. God bless.
especially the stuff till the dopes...i love the rude garage sound that makes you feel standing right next to the band. when they released their first stuff , the world for me had changed. hell, Nod Scene is better than on the full album. i also love tab25. i never heard such a long song without one second of bein boring
Monster Magnet - We're Stoned, What Are You Going to Do About It? 1215pm 6.9.22 aye - praise be to bullshit (which is what i equate religion to be). i like: "if satan lived in heaven he'd be me" - which panders to my own egotism... did the band really drop some and run around the woods tying their ladies to trees - like, naked? nice anecdote which made me laugh...
I honestly don't know how I would have made it through rehab without monster magnet, they and their touch with the higher power helped save my life!!, NA, unity, fellowship and service
Been into MM since hearing Superjudge in 1997. Years later a shitty internet connection and a shady fileshare software got me this gem and some great early live bootlegs. That opening track Raga is crazy - sitar style to chill you on a higher plane before the smoking' hot ripper Snake Dance lights you up.
lol, that Hail Satan at the end cracks me every time. When I was young and listen to Dave Wyndorf's Lyrics I was totaly buying this satanic drug thing thing. But reading more and more comics and devolping where Dave's Inspirations come from and also realising that late Monster Magnet wasn't that much into Drugs led me to the view that Dave is singing alot about the "one Power / Feeling" no one can really descripe. Some call it God, Tao, Satan what ever someone prefers in the end it's all the same. Universal and natural laws that no one can deny. Monster Magnet was, ist and still will be awesome Entertainment and thanks to Dave some of the best Lyrics ever. Love this stuff. Also the actual line up because if you see Monster Magnet this also includes the complete The Atomic Bitchwax and from Shrapnel you have Dave and Phil xD :D
Once upon a time when I was a teenager and we were taking acid, my friend pulled out this exact cassette tape and asked me "have you ever hear Monster Magnet 666?"
@@CS-sf1rz I meant firing him from queens of the Stone Age. Not sure why he left Monster magnet. I’ve never seen any explanation for it so I always assumed it was that.
@@CS-sf1rz Just checked an old interview he did with a magazine. Apparantly they did fire him, because he was clashing with other members of the band and lashing out at them, however it was indeed because he hated touring.
I think they went in different musical directions. McBain wanted to stay stuck in the drugged out 60s / 70s vibe whereas Dave Wyndorf wanted to try out different sounds. I think Dave made the right move with the number of fantastic songs he has created since Superjudge.
I asked Tim Cronin who owns the rights to this demo and he said he wasn't sure, probably the band. I want to use these tracks for background music in paint pouring videos, does anyone know Dave's number? Lol...
Monster Magnet - We're Stoned, What Are You Going to Do About It? 1214pm 6.9.22 get stoned... and drop some acid. yeah a sesh... cool band. one of those bands that none of my peers entertained - which is for the best - their being goths n all. in fact most of my music was at odds with their fay misery....

Monster Magnet - We're Stoned, What Are You Going to Do About It? 1221pm 6.9.22 the band have some new gear coming out on godunknowrecords.. which is cool and yeah tis a pity i didnt start up my own record label and have these guys record for me. i mean -why not!!!? cool... sadly i do not have the networking system required for such ventures or the funds or the acquaintances... christ, i'm a good looking man.
This is a different version than the one that's going around fileshare sites with the tracks cut up into mp3's. SO similar, but actually different performances (which you can hear at the end of the Raga intro) and the other one is missing vocal tracks (??) on Murder and is more poorly mixed in general. So bizarro. I would love to get a copy of this one that isn't ripped from UA-cam.
not different performances, but whoever ripped that one only ripped one channel so it’s basically a mono version. some of the vocals are hard-panned so that’s why they disappear on that version. this video has the stereo mix which is how it should sound.

There's a hole in my head that I was born with, shaped like a puzzle piece, and this music fits perfectly. This completes me. IYKYK.

MONSTER MAGNET 666
JUST SAY, "THANKS, MAN," TO DRUGS.
Yes!!! Finally! I've waited more than 20 years to hear this!
Still kicking ass in 2018.
...and 2022(2...) tooh!! ;-) :-D
Once upon a time when I was a teenager and we were taking acid, my friend pulled out this exact cassette tape and asked me "have you ever hear Monster Magnet 666?"
I can't be the only one that likes these versions more than the album versions.
Demos almost always sound better than studio recordings, especially with Stoner Rock.
You guys must be insane thinking this is in any way better than the studio versions. This sounds like it was recorded on a boom box
@@michaelblaine6494 yeah that’s what’s appealing about it
Awesome, I hadn't heard this before, thanks for the upload!
I find it amazing that most of these tracks are still played live regularly by the band.
Been stoned since 69 an there was and still is nothing the establishment can do abort it eyem 64 n Dec😂🤗🤘🏿💀🎩🙆🏿🙇🏿🙅🏿💥✊🏿👽🔥
Thanks for the upload. I've always wanted to hear this....cheers
Thanks for uploading ☝️Great to hear 💥🎶
Firing John McBain was a mistake. It was a mistake for Monster Magnet, The Desert Sessions, and The Queens of the Stone Age.
Did he get fired? I thought he didn’t want to tour ?
