You know? You had virtually perfect camera lighting on you face first thing in the morning. It was the morning version of "the golden hour" in the evening. Quite stunning! "The Lemon Squeezer", what a great name for a drive-in restaurant or an ice cream stand. Actually, I thought it was going to be the name of another deli stop. I felt kind of stupid when it turned out to be a rock formation. In regards to the scramble, I think if I felt like I could do it one direction or the other, I would have done it in the direction I felt comfortable with and gone back around to bypass the direction I didn't feel comfortable with only so I could say I did it. That being said, you did what you were comfortable with and remained safe and on trail. No strikes for hiking your own hike. 2100 miles, not many milestones left in this hike. Two major ones? Crossing into New Jersey and crossing the bridge back to Pennsylvania I think? I feel like I'm already mourning the fact that you've finished the trail and shortly I'm not going to have your videos to look forward to every morning. Keep moving forward, Mosey!
Oh my goodness! I can feel your glow! I can also visually see the drought… being a California I am familiar with that look. I pray our winter is wetter because… it looks tinder box like now. Your camp site = incredible. I love how you are spending your final 90+ miles and am so grateful you are sharing. PS thanks for the section hiking admiration: I’m still only a day hiker but I have plans for training until Spring so I can start taking on sections. Can’t believe I’m moving away from this glorious AT country….
In all the AT videos I've watched that has to be one of the clearest shots of the NYC skyline. The end is coming soon and I also will miss seeing your videos every morning.
I gotta say it looks like the Lemon Squeezer is much easier for a SOBO than for a NOBO because you were headed downhill and seemed to have no trouble at all. I was amazed at how clear the NYC skyline was, most views I've seen from vloggers the haze is too strong to get any kind of view. 2100 miles is just amazing, conwidering all you've been through I am so happy for you to have proven all the nay sayers wrong. I hope you will do a few post hike videos concerning gear changes and all that.
