Laughing about the guy who didn't know the trail went all the way to TN, sounds like the first time I did a day hike and meet a couple of thru hikers going south. It was right at day break and I'm wondering what hikers are doing out there that time of the day so far from a trail head. My son thought it was so funny I was so clueless about hiking the AT. 😂
Wow! So much to comment on in this video. First, thank goodness your fall wasn't of too serious of consequence. Ironically, I had a conversation with a couple other commenters on yesterday's video about how many times you had fallen on trail and I could only remember the broken ankle and what was likely a bruised tail bone falls. I'm pretty certain that at nearly 20 minutes, this is the longest video since you flipped. It seemed after flipping your videos had gotten noticeably shorter. I will say, this seemed to be such an interesting day between the people you met, the zoo looked like a place a person could spend a day, then the search for an appropriate camp site. Except for the fall, and the rationed ketchup, it looked like you were thoroughly enjoying yourself. Carry on, Mosey!
Your diplomacy and factual reply the to the fellow who thought that Bear Mountain is the highest point on the AT was nicely done. Ironically, the Bear Mountain Bridge crossed this day is I believe the lowest point on the AT as the river below is not far from Sea Level.
Sorry to say it so bluntly but: in a 2 party system, it's not helpful to vote 3rd party in a presidential election if one candidate is obviously a threat to democracy. Anyways, the US political system is broken. Looking there from Europe, it's just unbelievable what happens.
well if you do not agree with the candidates why vote for them. This country has been in a mess for a while, no morals, no respect for others. If anyone can at least make the economy and the fact we are overrun with illegals better then more power to them. These last few years have really stunk to high heavens. They have taken God out of everything and this country has suffered because of it
Not every one made it to Bear Mountain. Have a listen to Bob Dylan's Talking Bear Mountain Picnic Massacree Blues. A somewhat historically accurate, comedical account of a Father's Day boat sinking. I don't suggest you try to sing it. I liked your video as usual.

Unfortunately voting third party doesn’t help anything, I do wish we would just get rid of parties and just vote by the persons qualifications. And put term limits on congress so we could get more new people.
A full update! I think it is so neat that the trail goes through a zoo!
With all the AT hiking I have done(lots in VA) the only bears I have seen were in the Bear Mtn Zoo.

Thanks for sharing your exploring! I don’t know that I’ll ever get out to the Smokies or New England. Maybe when/if I retire.
