I first watched your video on baby wearing with the wrap and then saw your other videos and feel like your advice and journey is so calming and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I’m definitely going to tell them not to tell me what’s going on when they do the c-section. Still very nervous this is my first baby. I’m now following you and hope u keep up the videos. Zen Sak 🤰🏻🤱🏼so how did it go? I had an elective c-section Because of my anxiety. But also that I was living away from my mother at the time and I wanted her to be there. She is going to be staying with me for two weeks. So they gave her time to fly to us and arriving get the last minute things done to the nursery and everything like that. And I was in the hospital for two days I left the second day I was supposed to stay three days at least after C-section but I made them take the catheter out and I start walking ASAP. I was told because of my anxiety. But also that I was living away from my mother at the time and I wanted her to be there. She was going to be staying with me for two weeks. So that gave her time to fly to us and arrive and get the last minute things done to the nursery and everything like that. And I was in the hospital for two days I left the second day I was supposed to stay three days at least after C-section but I made them take the catheter out and I start walking ASAP. I was told if you start walking that they’ll discharge you. Also they knew that I had my mom at home to help me and my husband and I was able to be released early which was wonderful. I had my own huge room with lots of space in there all for me. Plenty of room for my husband to sleep dad like an extra couch bed thing. And then they had a bathroom in the bathroom had the shower in it and everything was all tiles it was like a whole wet room really. I even shave my legs before I left the hospital and my last shower there because I was like I’m not gonna be able to get in the shower and then down to do this for a while. Because they had like little benches in there for you to sit on and stuff. The only way I survived is from all the painkillers that we had saved up that we didn’t use we kept in brought with us. Because the night of my C-section I got a .5 mg Lortab for The whole night until my doctor arrived in the morning. Obviously if you know anything about cramps you need to take that like every four hours at least some ibuprofen because as soon as that wears off the pain is intense. So thank the Lord we save that up. We were told by some other people that might happen and I did not want to take the chance. So I had my own ibuprofen, they wouldn’t even give me that at night. Next day is when I left. So yeah basically less than two days.. 👪🤱🏼

Thanks for making this video! I am having a planned c section in 5 days because baby is breech. I am weirdly not scared at all of the surgey. To me, it actually was a huge relief that they suggested a c section because I am terrified of birthing vaginally. I don’t know why but it seems such a scary thing to me. In my country we can’t have an elective c section but the whole pregnancy I had a feeling that he’d come via a section. And my intuition was correct. I hope he doesn’t want to come before then and it all goes according to plan. :)

I've done so much research and am confident an elective section is right for me & our baby. Definitely not looking forward to fighting with maternity staff though! But will stick to my guns like you did!

I'm so pleased for you that you had such a great experience. The tummy injection bit had my stomach churn! I was so bruised they were probably one of the worst bits to the section pain wise.
I made the mistake of overdoing it the moment i felt Ok.. i was amazed how well I felt after and was doing most things as normal and the pain and swelling lasted longer

Pregnant with my second. My first son died at term at the hospital due to several errors on the part of the medical team. Thank you for this video. We are going back and forth between trying for a vaginal birth and scheduling a c-section, even though my first son’s actual birth was peaceful and vaginal, (he had died a few hours before, and the care team didn’t notice) but the anxiety is real and just need this little boy to get here safely. ❤

I’m so scared now as I’m due to have my second Bub in 9 weeks and I asked my midwife at my last appointment if I can get an epidural this time I’m in labour and they tried talking me out of that😳, but I’ll be getting one this time if I need it for sure as I didn’t have any pain relief for my last and it was awful.

I had a really traumatic 1st birth, 2nd and 3rd degree tears, took me 8 weeks before I could use the loo without pain, I'd suffered PPH 5 days after giving birth and I'm now 31 weeks pregnant with identical twins. I'm really scared of giving birth to twins vaginally and my twins are already high risk (mcda), I'm feeling more swayed towards an elective c section now.

Hi, I’m having a baby in August.. I definitely want a c section but it is my first baby.. do you think that my doctor maybe won’t be ok with me wanting a c section with out trying at least vaginal birth?? I’m definitely super scared (phobia scared) of natural birth it causes me so much anxiety I just can’t I don’t want it .. and I’m scared because it’s my first my doctor won’t want too

Hey, I'm due to have an elective section in Ireland next Monday. I had to fight for my rights and did everything I could to make it clear that I wanted a section and was not going to even consider vaginal. They did try to persuade me to go for natural birth but not even their head of mental health support team could. Don't even know why they sent me to see a consultant since I'm not having any mental health issues but it is just my choice.. Disgusting and disappointing. It was only at the routine visit after seeing the consultant that they diagnosed me with "tokophobia" which is the fear of giving vaginal birth. I am actually not afraid of it one bit but agreed with that so they would leave me alone. They asked me at every subsequent visits if I had changed my mind and I said no, of course. They got me to sign a consent form at my 38 weeks appointment and also asked if I'd still want the section if I went into labour before the scheduled date and reconfimred to them that, yes I would. Hopefully this will help you. Go to them prepared and tell them that you suffer from this "tokophobia" and they'll have no option but accept it. It is your right to choose and they need to respect that. As much as they'd try to persuade you otherwise, be firm on your decision and let them see how convinced you are of what you want. Good luck! 🙂

I am from Indonesia where C-section rate is >50%. My mom, aunts and cousins had C-section. In my opinion, C-section is super safe and mother's right. It is common here to choose C-section (even no medical reason).
Currently I am living in Czech, where C-section is rare 😭. I am not pregnant yet. However I really want C-section.

I just said at my first midwife appointment that I wanted to have a c section so I was referred to a consultant at about 4 months, they gave me all the info and I said I wanted to go ahead so i was told to come back at 34 weeks to get a date for it!xx

I'm so glad you got the birth you wanted, shame poor Marcus needed help, but the main thing is he's great now. I think when you have had one bad birth you fill with anxiety and have a stressful pregnancy if you think you have to go through the ordeal if that kind of birth. I know my surrogate opted for a planned c section even though she had 3 straightforward births, she laboured for over 20 hours with her 3 and didn't want that when she had nothing at the end. Mentally she was in a good place as they put her to sleep and she knew nothing about it,we waited outside the door and Harry was brought straight to us. I always wanted to be pregnant, but birth terrified me,and as it happens I couldn't have children anyway, but I would of panicked the whole way through. She found getting over the c section fine. Glad your all doing well. Xx

Ive asked for a elective c section after a horrible first labour
I dont know what to do 😳
Baby has to come out some way anyway 😂
But yeah, without going into too much detail
My first labour.. The blood was dripping off the end of the bed 😳
A scar is the least of my body worries 😂
Consultant done same with me, now im worried, she talked about c sections going wrong and possibly needing your womb removed because of it its called placenta aveia or something
I was so ready for a csection and now im worried sick about my baby getting here, what ever way she decides to get here 😢
Feel like theres no better way for me now
