This man cured me of 25 years of crippling depression. At about the same time this video was released, I discovered his book and started on his program, and it gave me a new life. This man should win a Nobel prize in medicine and this message needs to be spread to every corner of the Earth so that everyone else who is suffering needlessly can be helped.

Thank you Dr. Palmer for this vital information on diagnosing mental health disorders. I have been struggling with Depression, OCD, ADHD and GAD for approximately the past 30 years, starting OCD at 5years of age. I am now 58. and I am still suffering after one med after another, TMS treatment, therapy etc. and now wondering if I have bipolar 2 disorder? I currently have a psych provider and I appreciate there effort in trying to help me, but I am still suffering. What really frustrates me the most is that like you said the symptoms associated with one dx overlap with other dx. I don't want to live the rest of my life suffering . I am not one to advocate for myself, though I am starting to now. Thank you I apologize for the long comment!!

I thought I had depression for years...so doom gloom...I tried their medications but they made me feel worse...I finally realized that sugar and other stimulants were what made me feel that way...by switching to a low sugar low carb diet I've become a new person ...now I'm still working on all the habits that I developed through the way I felt for so many years ..one answered question leads to another ...

there's a bit of a repititon here within the first 6 minutes "lowering expectations" someone should re-edit this talk. it's a long video, you dont wan to have ppl switch off an important discussion.

The whole thing was a repetition of many other vids - mostly ideas :(

  • @mddell24

I do not believe this person has any practical ideas for people to help mental illness.
Theories are great, but just that. Most of his (and cohort of similar experts) ideas have been talked about and tried for decades.
Since few of the studies are published - I can only assume the "Brain Energy" idea is mostly miss - but may work miracles for say 1%, help for 10%, but unimpressive for most, SO definitely worth trying, BUT the experts should at least tell people the results of studies.
I am always suspicious of "I know" when all they present is a couple of testimonial stories. Presumably if this person is a paid expert they have looked at past studies/trials.
I am becoming less accepting of "Professional" health advice as I age, I have had 3 serious problems (Depr., Vit.B12, IBS) and doctors and experts had nothing that helped. I am mostly fixed without drugs - just life style and B12 from the health food shop. The thing that really made me think doctors are not trying was the B12 deficiency. The doctor knew I had a condition that causes this but still no advice - I had to discover that pills from the Health food shop was all I needed - no prescription , no Pharmacy required.
