    This man cured me of 25 years of crippling depression. At about the same time this video was released, I discovered his book and started on his program, and it gave me a new life. This man should win a Nobel prize in medicine and this message needs to be spread to every corner of the Earth so that everyone else who is suffering needlessly can be helped.

      Thank you Dr. Palmer for this vital information on diagnosing mental health disorders. I have been struggling with Depression, OCD, ADHD and GAD for approximately the past 30 years, starting OCD at 5years of age. I am now 58. and I am still suffering after one med after another, TMS treatment, therapy etc. and now wondering if I have bipolar 2 disorder? I currently have a psych provider and I appreciate there effort in trying to help me, but I am still suffering. What really frustrates me the most is that like you said the symptoms associated with one dx overlap with other dx. I don't want to live the rest of my life suffering . I am not one to advocate for myself, though I am starting to now. Thank you I apologize for the long comment!!

      Have you tried a ketogenic diet? I did after reading Dr. Palmer’s book. It has improved the quality of my life tremendously. You should give it a try.

    have suffered from 30+ years of severe depression and anxiety. when i enter ketosis (and supplement with salt and electrolytes) i am dramatically more calm, less depressed, less irritable, more loving, able to think more clearly. its pretty amazing.

      @@nargiza181 Salmons, avocado, eggs, fatty meats. Ketosis is just the state he is in, the brain normally runs on glucose, when it goes on ketones it runs more efficient. Thats why he feels alot better. Hope this helps.

    I thought I had depression for years...so doom gloom...I tried their medications but they made me feel worse...I finally realized that sugar and other stimulants were what made me feel that way...by switching to a low sugar low carb diet I've become a new person ...now I'm still working on all the habits that I developed through the way I felt for so many years ..one answered question leads to another ...

    48:00 mitochondrial health

    It makes sense that suicide is a biological impulse as a response to metabolic dysfunction. The body knows it’s ill and in an energy deficit and that without intervention it’s on a downward spiral into misery and death anyway. Speaking from experience here. 😂 I lived with chronic illness for 35 years that I now realize is fundamentally metabolic/ symptomatic of mitochondrial dysfunction. I got to a point where I promised myself I would end myself within a year if I hadn’t made significant improvements because I was just so exhausted and sick I knew I was going to lose my job, relationships, home, everything and I promised myself I would check out before that happened. Even if those aren’t conscious choices maybe it’s the body’s way of saving you from the worst misery and possibly there’s some subconscious choice evolutionarily speaking to stop using resources so others in the tribe can have them. I have gotten a lot better, and the most effective tools I’ve used all work on the mitochondria. I was never unhappy, per se. I had a life I loved and I just knew I had reached a point where I was going to lose it all.

    Why, sometimes the answer could be right in front of our eyes. We either do not recognize it or refuse to recognize it when informed. Most fall into the latter category. Cognitive disorder? No. The head is stuck in the sand.

    Are they(researchers) on a search to produce a drug that repairs mitochondria?

    • @iche9373
      @iche9373 4 місяці тому +1

      Isn’t that drug called ketones?

    • @ava.artemis
      @ava.artemis 29 днів тому +1

      There are lots of things you can do to repair mitochondria without drugs. Most drugs impair mitochondria by nature of taxing the liver and depleting nutrients.

    there's a bit of a repititon here within the first 6 minutes "lowering expectations" someone should re-edit this talk. it's a long video, you dont wan to have ppl switch off an important discussion.

    • @mddell24
      @mddell24 8 місяців тому

      The whole thing was a repetition of many other vids - mostly ideas :(

  • @mddell24
    @mddell24 8 місяців тому +5

    I do not believe this person has any practical ideas for people to help mental illness.
    Theories are great, but just that. Most of his (and cohort of similar experts) ideas have been talked about and tried for decades.
    Since few of the studies are published - I can only assume the "Brain Energy" idea is mostly miss - but may work miracles for say 1%, help for 10%, but unimpressive for most, SO definitely worth trying, BUT the experts should at least tell people the results of studies.
    I am always suspicious of "I know" when all they present is a couple of testimonial stories. Presumably if this person is a paid expert they have looked at past studies/trials.
    I am becoming less accepting of "Professional" health advice as I age, I have had 3 serious problems (Depr., Vit.B12, IBS) and doctors and experts had nothing that helped. I am mostly fixed without drugs - just life style and B12 from the health food shop. The thing that really made me think doctors are not trying was the B12 deficiency. The doctor knew I had a condition that causes this but still no advice - I had to discover that pills from the Health food shop was all I needed - no prescription , no Pharmacy required.

      Vitamins are so life changing. I'm so glad you found what you needed. That's wonderful . I've heard many people try the keto or carnivore diet that can absolutely improve our mental health. It has helped me and Jesus Christ loved me enough to bring me to a place that I took care of myself.

    • @ava.artemis
      @ava.artemis 29 днів тому

      He 100% has practical ideas. This is just the first half of the interview. He’s successfully put I don’t know how many patients into 100% remission just from schizophrenia. And that’s just what he’s done. I don’t know the numbers of patients he’s personally treated or how many have been “cured” through his protocols but I’m guessing at least in the 10s of thousands. I’ve heard him on other podcasts where he talks more about that, this one was more technical. You could buy his book for the protocols.
