Thank you Maddy! I loved the Beastie Boys!!! The "Intergalactic" music video by the Beastie Boys was filmed in Tokyo, Japan. Various scenes were shot in the Shibuya and Shinjuku train stations, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building makes a brief appearance! Much cleaner public Streets! lol
DJ Ad-Rock is what he said. The group is Mike D, MCA, and Ad-Rock. They've also had a couple DJ's in the group; Mix Master Mike and DJ Hurricane. I don't know if you've checked out any other stuff they've done yet, but if you want to see how they've evolved over the years, start with "Fight For Your Right", then "Hey Ladies", then "So Watcha Want", then "Sure Shot", then "Sabotage", then "Three MCs and One DJ".
There was a fun scene in an episode of 'Supergirl' on the CW when Kara and her friends were singing this song at a Karaoke Night. A good choice when most of them were not from Earth.
Beastie Boys' "Rhymin' 'n' Stealin'" Live! has bada**est drum intro from Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks" with remix-loop & OG B'Boy scratchin'! '68 + '86 = timeless!
Beastie Boys were one of the first rap group in the 80s to become mainstream, and have a hit album. Some other songs of theirs you might want to check out include (in release order): "Slow and Low" "Hold It Now, Hit It" "The New Style" "Paul Revere" "Brass Monkey" "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)" "No Sleep till Brooklyn" "Girls" "Hey Ladies" "So What'cha Want" "Gratitude" "Sabotage" (highly recommend the live performance from Late Night with David Letterman) "Sure Shot" "Body Movin'"
Great BB song and funny! I read that much of the street and subway filming was done gueriila-style - run and film. And the majority of it was done live, not on green screen, except for the one little bit they did to fit the word green in the lyrics. ("Now when it comes to envy, y'all is green"). People have mentioned a lot of other great songs by them, but one that doesn't get enough love (IMHO) is "Root Down." It's an awesome, funky love letter to the old skool NY hip hop scene. Definitely worth a listen!
@@MaddyReactions Well, well! Looks like someone has some deep cuts from way back when. Almost before your birth, I reckon? 😉 As for the new game, you should know that every time we met an obstacle, we used creativity and ingenuity to overcome it. So you never know!
My favorite Bestie Boys Albums in order. Just my opinion. They are all masterpieces! 1 Paul's Boutique 2 Check your head 3 Ill Communication 4 Liscence to ILL 5 To the 5 Boroughs 6 Hot Sauce album Do more Bestie boys reactions! Finally got to see them live on the To the 5 boroughs tour. One of the best concerts I've ever seen! And I'm well over 100 concerts. Tryed to see them at Lollapalooza 94' in Daytona got rained out. Then again for the HELLO NASTY tour in 99' in Tampa, Fl Mike D broke his arm tour canceled. RATM was supposed to open for them. That would've been the 3rd time I saw RATM. Finally saw them in Tampa on the To the five Bouroghs tour. Blew my mind🤯 They sounded as good as RUSH LIVE! Great reaction, Maddy!😊
Boutique is GOATed. Just turned 25 years old. Reportedly at the time of his passing, Paul's Boutique was Miles Davis' favorite album. I might quibble with the order of 3 and 4 on your list, but it's a close call.
The vid is Homage to the 1960's Godzilla movies and the robots scenes are filmed in the old Godzilla studios, which is why they're mobbin around the city and subways
Love how you positioned yourself in front of the ceiling fan to look like you're wearing a propeller hat. BTW, as many of the other videos, this was directed by Adam Yauch.
The BBoys are legend. never to be forgotten. Paul's Boutique is arguably a top 10 or 20 album of all time. Thanks for the quality reaction i'll check out what else you're discovering.
Some of the best lyrics (rap or otherwise): "I'll stir-fry you in my wok". Doesn't get much better than that. If you haven't seen their Sabotage video- do so post-haste.
They do all their own mixing, sound effects, recording, editing, play instruments rap, they write their own lyrics, they toured for years too. Beastie Boys are legendary! I was 8 years old when License to Ill came out and had it on cassette. I was an instant fan of the Beasties.
I dont know if its a reference to common UFO abduction stories where Aliens pose as construction workers. But i do know the outfits are Japanese(Koji) Construction Worker uniforms
Hey Maddy! This video won the 1999 Grammy for Best Rap Video. The Beastie’s album that year: ‘Hello Nasty’ also won Best Rap Album of the year. Also, they’re in Japanese emergency worker outfits like you saw during Fukushima for instance. It would probably cause alarm to some degree.
The bystanders in the video are random people in Japan (I think Tokyo?); they just went into public like this and filmed. All of the reactions are genuine and they have no idea what the three Jewish Brooklyn boys wearing vests are doing. I think they freestyled every inch of the footage in the subway and on the street.
Various scenes are filmed in the Shibuya and Shinjuku train stations in Tokyo, Japan; the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1 makes a brief appearance
am i the only weirdo that noticed your ceiling fan moving and grooving to the song ??? watch. you can even hear the fan singing along. maddy try singing that in your soulful voice.
biggest selling rap group of all time. 7 platinum albums in a row. also in the rock n roll hall of fame. focus on paul's boutique, which is their second album and their masterpiece. one of the greatest rap/hip-hop albums of all-time.
BEASTIE BOYS 😎🤩🤖😝😬✌🏼🎶 I can scratch one off my request list!!! Thank you RJK🥳 🫡 An artist I can name 10 songs I would blow out my speakers for a very long and elite list of artists hahaha 😝 lol
Cool song! The video's cheesy like watching old 1970s Godzilla movies, Ultraman & Power Rangers!😂 More Beastie Boys songs: Brass Monkey, Fight For Your Right, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Sabotage, Paul Revere, So Wat'cha Want, Girls, Hold It Now, Hit It, Hey Ladies, Three MC's and One DJ, Time To Get Ill
My Saturday just been complete by the beautiful maddy uploading she is so pretty her smile does it for me have a lovely chilled relaxed weekend maddy ❤
i always thought it was a homage to Japanese monster movies, did they have green screen back then the song is 26 years old. brass monkey is another good song from them. a suggestion for a reaction Donna Summer - i feel love (Moreno J. remix) late 70's disco song remixed done well.
Beastie Boys are rock and hip hop royalty and true artists at their craft. They take music very seriously and themselves not at all serious. Which has gifted us some of the most fun and compelling music across decades and genres. My top 3 from Beastie Boys Sabotage Intergalactic Brass Monkey (intentionally contentious choice. It's really 3 MCs and 1 DJ, and Brass Monkey in a close 4th. Maybe Paul Revere. I'm torn.)
hello, it's from Japan and I think those people are not paid, maybe just the first Japanese woman to see a robot land👍it's definitely not shot green screen style, it can be seen that some people are watching it

hence the robot, what else would it be doing
Side note, LL Cool J was discovered by Ad-Rock

"Three MCs and One DJ" for sure. RIP MCA.
One of my favorite Beastie Boys songs. I made the Intergalactic robot voice into my cell ringtone!!!
THANK YOU!!!!! I have been a fan of theirs since the 80's! Paul's Boutique was a masterpiece.
The Beastie Boys worked with some amazingly talented DJs over the years: Rick Rubin, DJ Hurricane, Doctor Dré and Mix Master Mike.
There was a fun scene in an episode of 'Supergirl' on the CW when Kara and her friends were singing this song at a Karaoke Night. A good choice when most of them were not from Earth.
Beastie Boys were nuts!!! I watched this video hundreds of times when it came out!! So much fun!!! Another great reaction Maddy!!
So fun!
they knew how to have fun. What a job they created.
Not many people will know that this video was directed by Nathaniel Hornblower who is actually MCA (Adam Yauch) of the Beastie Boys.

No costume references. It's the Beastie Boys...yes, they're just crazy. 🤣👍🙃👌😀🤙
So while they're delivering they're awesome style the only things going through your head is if they paid the people around them?
OG Rappers from when I was in high school...
I grew up with Beastie Boys, only 2 Beastie Boys left, Rip Adam Yauch aKa MCA
Nobody in Japan had a clue who they were. They just filmed it cold without advanced notice.

Very fun stuff!!
In high school, we would test other kids with beastie boys lines to see if they were cool
I don't know if there are specific characters they are playing. I think it's more a love letter to the Japanese Kaiju films like Godzilla.
Beastie Boys - Paul Revere
will echoed in your head for weeks . .
there's no off vid , so pick any lyric vid you like
Do 3 MCs and one DJ.
Piped in live as their performance for an MTV Music Awards, 1take,1DJ,1record, no beat machine, pure Hip Hop from concentrate, enjoy.
