I'm going back in November for 3 days and originally only booked breakfast. Worked out where I wanted to eat then did some number crunching. I've now added standard half board to my booking and its saved me nearly £40. I didn't realise you could get Chuck Wagon, Downtown New York and Remys on the standard meal plan.
Thanks Lucy, some great tips there. We are heading to Paris later this year as a family for the first time. I have been years ago and things have certainly moved on, for the better ❤
Will do! I’d like to do that one next time we’re in the parks, then I can show the options… but it may end up being another sit down vid… we’ll see xxx
Just to add with booking table restaurants that April is open now and has been a while. Although it says 2 months on the app it doesn’t seem to be the case so I would keep checking on there rather than relying on 60 days.
Completely agree with this. When we were going in Feb (moved it now) we had our restaurants booked back at the beginning of Dec, and even then you could book out to March.
Hi there, thanks for the tips. We are a family of 2 adults, 2 children (7/8) and looking at going mid October this year. It's our first time and we've also never done anything inclusive. We've been back and forth on which hotel and which meal plan, and the Full Board Standard looked like a cost effective option but they have pretty much discontinued it as only available at Davy Crockett and Santa Fe now. We really weren't sure over the 3 nights/4 days whether to go for the Half Board Plus or the Full Board Plus. On paper they seem about equivalent if you do the expensive places on the Half Board meals and quick service PAYG for the rest, but if you want to do anything above quick service then the Full Board is then better. Or just Half Board and go nuts at breakfast. As it is our first time, I am tempted to just do the Full Board and not stress about it, especially as with two hungry kids I am sure they will eat well, but I can't make my mind up! What would you please recommend for a first time family?
Hi, we’ve done both full board and half. The benefits of full are that you get to try a load of restaurants out and, as you say, you don’t have to worry on the day as it’s all paid for. With half board, you can always eat at quick service for one meal a day, and that works well, too. I’d say have a look at the menus on the app and weigh it up based on where you’d like to eat. This recent trip we got so much variety, the Full Board was a no brainier, and not having to worry to find the money for every meal whilst there because we’d already paid was actually great. - Chris
@@37DisneyStreet Thank you for the quick reply! I think I will stop bouncing and just go for the Full Board. At least we will know then for any future trip. I get 5% discount on the overall DLP Holiday packages anyway, which makes it even more cost effective.
@@JDtheHutt what we did with the kids was make sure we had a buffet meal every day so we knew there was food for them, then lunchtimes were places like Captain Jacks, Chez Remy etc. where they maybe didn’t like the options as much, but they’d had big breakfasts and got a buffet later on… It worked well (although we did have to buy the occasional snack), and the restaurant choices helped us plan and space out our days, too. But it is a lot of food, so be mindful :-) I’m hoping to do a video on meal plan tips in the next week or so, actually. - C
As in they close late afternoon and re-open early evening? I don't think this happens, no. But if you check the Disneyland Paris app, the food section will give you the opening and closing times of all of the restaurants. most open from 11:00. If you're planning on going to DLP, I'd recommend connecting your tickets to the app so that you can book table service or buffet restaurants in advance, particularly at busy times, as they can get booked up quite easily... - Chris
They dont have "Dole" as such, they have their own Pineapple Whip in a waffle bowl. You can pick it up from Cafe de la Brouse in Adventureland (When they're open, and in stock) - Chris
Being a constant WDW visitor only, I’m shocked at how fast the restaurants sell out! It’s like every restaurant is Ohana or something! What time do the reservations unlock 60 days out 🇬🇧 time?
Here’s the problem; DLP don’t *appear* to have a set time to release. The most accurate prediction seems to be 1am, but the internet is lettered with examples of people being able to book earlier, or being locked out until 8am etc. Plus, it says two month, not 60 days, on a lot of the literature. So depending on the length of the month it’s worth checking 61/62 days in advance. Don’t give up hope either, we’ve had several good spots as walk ups when we got there. Or just keep trying the app xxx
Great video, thank you! What time does hotel new york breakfast end? Wondering if we can do extra magic hour then make it back for breakfast afterwards...🤔
I think it’s quite late - like 1030/11 but not absolutely certain. we’ve always eaten really early then headed in for EMH. Tends to be busiest between 8 and 930 - Chris
Ace Lucie! if you’re staying on site (and maybe have a meal plan) you can get breakfast in your hotel reasonably early, so if you’re on the ball, you can eat at 7 and hightail it over to the park for EMH!! Also, we take loads of multipacks of haribo with us every time to keep the boys happy in those queues 🤣🤣
I know that’s frowned upon but lots of people do it, and understandably!! We saw a couple making ham sandwiches and wrapping them in foil at their table for lunch!! We also saw a family with Fanta bottles full of the fresh orange! - Chris
This video needs an update. The dining plans are completely different (or did you talk about the US-American ones?) and the Disneyland Hotel has changed quite a lot regarding the characters you can meet in the restaurants as well as the names of the restaurants. Other than that your tips are still very useful. 😊👍💖
I'm in the middle of planning our first trip to Disneyland Paris so your tips are very helpful. There's one thing I can't find an answer to, maybe you can help. We're planning on paying for a half-board meal plan and if I understood correctly we will get vouchers. Does the whole party needs to eat together to be able to use them? We're all adults so maybe the boys want spicy Mexican food for dinner but the girls want to try something lighter at Captain Jack's, can we do that? Or half of us want to eat at 7PM and the other half only around 9ish?
Hiya, I’m pretty sure you don’t all have to eat together, no. When people go to eat, you give over your magic pass and say how many are eating and they’ll take those ‘credits’ from your meal vouchers. Just book your tables for the right numbers and the cast members will sort it all out for you :-) - Chris
