Just got 2 of them yesterday. First impression was really good. Decent build quality, gobos, light output... Until after a minute or so the LED temperature reached 47°C (117°F) and the LED fan started spinning at full blast. The noise of a single unit is comparable to a roomba vaccuum. Completely unusable for weddings, theatre, hotels,... as 2 or 4 of them would be louder than background music, speeches,... Are your moving heads just as loud?
@@thomaskrechel they are loud, but also take note that in a small empty room they're going to seem louder than at a gig, in a big hall, filled with people, and music. Personally, I've taken these to 3 gigs and I didn't even notice the fan. I remember having 28 uplights with fans, and you could hear a feint chorus of fans during the pauses of speeches, but that was more overwhelming than a pair of these
Finally! been waiting for a good review on this mover! Been eying it for a while. Thank you for all your great content allowing us to make informed purchases. 🙏
Daryl friend, I am writing to you requesting your help. Watching your videos motivated me to buy 8 160w 3in1 lights. I have received 4 of them and the same thing happens to all of them: when I raise the intensity to a value above 235 on the DMX they reset. What am I configuring wrong? I'm desperate and I don't know what to do and I still have 4 left to arrive. I live in Colombia South America. I thank you in advance for your kind and professional help.
Great review once again Daryl. l have been in the market for something like this. (Tilt is a slight issue but l can live with it for the price). l have bought equipment from Both Lighting based on solely your opinion, recommendations and reviews. So l am just wondering if they have a mover that rivals this one in price, features etc, that you know of. l know they have spot movers, just not sure of how good they are compared to this one.Thank you
These are about 3x cheaper than the Chauvet, are about 50% brighter, have a narrower beam angle, and about 50% lighter. (Portability is huge to me). These also have the frost filter. The Chauvet build quality is going to be noticeably better. The Chauvet will work with their rf remote. The built-in macros I'd expect to be better. Has two prisms instead of just one.
I happened to have these laying around and it was just luck that they fit perfectly djlightingdiscount.com/product/hanging-bracket-ex8a0114-pth1010102141621
ordered a pair of these and thinking about how I'm going to mount them. limited on space and might go for a gravity stand or those collapsable totems. I saw the adj spot 3 and really like how they make gobo prisms on the dance floor. Would I be able to prop up the back end of this light when I mount it to make it hit the dance floor?
I’d definitely consider safety first, idk if propping up the back is the best idea. I think they’re good to scan the crowd, which is what you want when it’s packed
I was going to develop a wedge that's bolted to the top of the rockville totem, and the wedge puts it at an angle to get more anglage. then pull tie strap it down so it is safe@@DJDarylBennett
also, how did you get the mock lights on the right of sound switch when making your shows so you don't have to have your whole setup hooked up to your laptop to create shows?
What do you think about this light?

My pleasure!
it's an amazing moving head! however 190 tilt is a no go for me nowadays because I use totems.
Totally makes sense!
That’s exactly what I was just thinking
Question, I have Chauvet 150 and I saw 255 used for 800.00 for two. With bag. Worth it? Thank you
Thanks for the review! I think I'll buy them for next season
Sounds like a great plan! Thanks for watching

I know BOTH's spot is 150w, and they said they'd send me some to review, but that hasn't happened yet. I think they'd be similar in a lot of ways!
How does this compare to the Chauvet Intimidator 360X?

Second Gobo Wheel!
And that frost filter is NICE!!
Hello love your videos very informative, where did you get those brackets to mount to a single bolt??
I happened to have these laying around and it was just luck that they fit perfectly

Are these compatible with my dmx go
These are dmx controllable, I'm not sure if tbey work with mtdmxgo specifically
Which software you using to control these lights? Thanks
I was doing auto mode in the first part of the demo and using soundswitch later on
@@DJDarylBennett Thanks again.
What bags do you use to carry these? I just bought two and declined the $325 case
This is the one I use for each. Not as much protection as a pelican case, but decent and affordable. They've survived a few gigs

Thank you! Looking forward to updates on your new Prime 4. I’m interested in getting one as well!
Does this have totem mode?
No. Although with proper programming, it's like having a totem mode
