There is no "private property" in America. If you actually pay attention to what's been described as "owning" something in the states it's usually just a very long lease.
In parts of Colorado it’s illegal to collect rain water off your roof even to water your garden. It’s not an accident. They’ve also started regular blackouts when the wind blows, which is often.
The reason this is a thing is because company's will buy a buncha land, then collect all the rain water and this makes the natural aquifers that everyone relies on for wells and emergencys never refill causing sink holes. It's actually to stop companies like Nestle. Furthermore, generally speaking you can collect rain water up to a certain amount. You should actually read the laws in your state properly because these laws protect us
@@Shade_Tree_Mechanic as far as hunting goes it depends on what animal, the time of year and what kind of land you own. For instance I owned a 10 acre plot that had a protected salmon run on it, herons and salmon were strictly protected and no animals or vegetation was allowed to be messed with 100 yards from beach on either side of the creek. We agreed to this and it was baked into the price. Well worth it as I got to grow up in a garden of Eden. Deer often walked through, no license would have allowed for hunting them there. Animals don't get birthed on your land then live there in isolation, so if your killing tons of deer or elk as they pass through your land it's a bit unfair to everyone else and also poses an issue to the animals population. The purpose of the hunting psicense system is sustainable wild game, countries that cat grasp these have desolate ecosystems like China where anything that moves was killed long ago. We have beautiful animals in America and may countries like India, China, and Eastern bloc countries often have immigrants that are awe struck that we still have huntable wild game casually living in most cities limits. It's a luxury only possible through the diligence of the fish and wildlife service, probably one of the only gov agencies I wouldn't defund.

I run a municipal water plant, and water is a right, you have the right to go dip out of the same river we do. What is not a human right is the $200k a year in chemicals, the millions in equipment, and the thousands of hours of labor it takes to make it drinkable. That you have to pay for.

yea from a country that elects a billionare who in turn will put even more billionares in political power its not surprising, this is what the people want
Let's be clear here. While this family taking all this water is an issue, the bigger issue is that California has terrible "environmental" laws that basically prevent stuff like controlled burning and prevent water from canada flowing in to protect a single fish species in a river. Also, they have terrible infrastructure to capture rain water for use later. This is a far bigger issue than just this family.

There is no bound of human greed and the atrocities one can commit on others without hesitation. If you let people do it, they will. We think all people have the same morals and consciousness. They don't. This doesn't bother them. In fact - you can say they are not human. Because they lack the things that make us human. Water control has been a historical issue. Sometimes out of necessity, one village down-river has a river and another is in drought. Sometimes that droughted village is going to divert that river for their survival. And that might result in those two villages warring until one or none are left. I'm not commenting on who's right or wrong. I'm just saying this is as old as the formation of human communities.

@@Illusion-clockHa! 😂 . You need a license just to hunt or fish. Even on your own property many times.
The government isn't there to help you, only to control you
The reason this is a thing is because company's will buy a buncha land, then collect all the rain water and this makes the natural aquifers that everyone relies on for wells and emergencys never refill causing sink holes.
