I personally hope I get access in heaven to the music part and to the pet part. I could spend eternity with music and pets. And, oh, the man from 20 years ago who resurfaced.
Lotta good hands there, may they all rest in peace.Tony Rice especially hit me hard, his music has been apart or my life from a young age and brought me joy in good times and comfort in hard times...RIP.!
So many of the greats were taken away in 2021. Some I've never heard of, a few looked awfully young. The majority I knew well of, I didn't know Sanford Clark had passed. The Fool was always a favorite. I never knew the names of the writers, but I sure know the hits they wrote! RIP to all,you will be missed.❤
Sanford Clark was also renowned for his version of "Nothing To Me" which was also recorded by Jim Reeves, Dick Curless, and Buddy Knox. I am almost certain that John Wesley Ryles recorded a 1970s version of "The Fool."🤔🎼🎤🎸🎻🎹B.W.
"Sad movies" was redone by Boney M, their version really good. I was hoping TTH would keep writing those story songs forever, but sadly he is now gone. That loss really hurt. Great to see some overseas artists in the list. There is a lot of great country music coming out of Europe, old and new.
Very good channel, new sub, 👍🇨🇦🍁I learned good, great country music and pop music from from my dad, I was 8 or 9, the beach boys, to eddy Arnold and of course Elvis, I know all the bands and singers from the early 50's the 60's early 70's, FM radio was was getting popular, and both formats continue, not at the level of stations there used to be, Some of the best music at that time or anytime for that matter, I went hard Rock, but never forget my roots and the music my dad listened to and I then I listened to, I learned young I am 55 👍
Jimmie Rodgers i never heard of n i listen to 50s country I've also never heard of half of these ppl.... Randy Parton wow i didnt know him or his version of Roll On Highway, but another one of Dollys siblings. Ohara I rem his band O'Kanes. I Love T.T. Hall & Ed Bruce! but not that version of the song on this video lol. Anne Murray song we need these days! Those songwriters wrote TRUE MUSIC. Ronnie Played For ELVIS!?! WOW
Bridget Hanley was also part of the short lived version of "Harper Valley P.T.A." The TV version of The Movie inspired by the Jeannie C. Riley classic written by Tom T. Hall.😔🎼🎤🎸🎻B.W.
They were great Artists and we are saddened, but this is a list of Artists from country & western culture, music, TV and cinema. And none of them played a prominent role in this specific country & western area. Thanks for watching!
Commander Cody, Tom T. Hall and Michael "Papa Nez" Nesmith (not on your list) are the ones that really hit me. BTW all of you that only knew him as "Mike" from the Monkees should check out his solo albums. If you like Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen you will probably dig Papa Nez's first few solo albums. I don't know what I could say about Tom T Hall that hasn't already been said other than checkout his full albums, he never made a bad one.
@@CountryMusicOne Oh okay, sorry about my mixup, I wasn't aware of another singer by the same name. Thanks for taking the time to clarify this for me. Great work on the videos, I watched all of them.
@@CountryMusicOne I could never understand why the Folk/Pop/Country singing Jimmie Rodgers couldn't have used another name to stop the confusion with the Singing Brakeman. Add in Jimmy Rodgers Snow and it gets somewhat ridiculous!
BJ was a member of the Grand Ole Opry for a time till he found that their rule of always having to play the Opry when you were in town was too restricting.
@@madbrowniac7871 Oh God, it's horrid. That is not country. That's a pop singer trying to make some money by "sounding" country. This is exactly what's wrong with most CMT-style "country" music today. Put on a hat and a big coat. Push it all through your nose. Merle would vomit.
Hadnt heard tom t hall died. The main thing i liked about tom t hall when i was a kid i felt he was a little bit rogue with his harper valley pta and the girl most likely. My mother was pta secretary and kind of hard to the right and didnt like the song. Which made me like it even more. Back then you had people who hated long hair hated hippies rebels motorcycles tom thall had a little rebellion going on. Rebellion against snootiness. Where i felt like during the w bush era country moved too far to the right. Tom t hall set a better example my opinion.

They all need good words over them.
Didn't realize that Tom T. Hall was gone.
His death was recently ruled as suicide.

Conway Twitty's bass player Gene Hughey passed away, as did Conway's second wife Mickey
Thank you for the information!
Jim Weatherly was the starting quarterback for Mississippi in the mid sixties. I think he shared it with Perry Lee Dunn one year.
To Quote George Jones,"Who's gonna fill their shoes?"
Hard year on banjo players, too. J D Crowe, Bill Emerson, John Hickman. The second generation of bluegrass is joining the angel band.
Don't forget Dennis Caplinger as well.
I think it was Jim Weatherly that wrote several lush Ray Price hits.

Especially sad about Tom T. Hall . I don't understand it.
They talked about Mike Nesmith was an influencer of country music as well.
Glad to see someone else mention "Papa Nez".
I hope he is making music with Red Rhodes as we speak.
His mother invented liquid paper.
Guitar Legend, Tony Rice died Christmas morning of 2020.
We didn't include him on 2020 video and he deserved this tribute.
