The two Chinese teams of Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei and Xu Chen / Ma Jin face off for the gold medal in the final of the mixed doubles badminton event int the Wembley Arena at the London 2012 Olympic Games (3 August).
Badminton made its debut as a demonstration sport at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. It was not until the 1992 Games in Barcelona that it was officially included on the Olympic programme, with men's and women's singles and doubles events. The mixed doubles event made its debut in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympic Games. Since then, the number of events has remained unchanged.

It's because in mixed doubles, female player are much look into the net play, and when the shuttle too fast, they (the female) are too late to move back so the male player have to cover all over the court. Sorry for my bad english, I hope you get the point.

Dulu apa baru juga beberapa tahun lalu saya ikuti dari awal olympic London memang China waktu itu masuk Olympic ranking 1 di 4 sektor terkecuali tunggal Putra kalau tdk salah LCW pegang rankung 1 lin dan dua, dari dulu badminton sangat kompetitif. Negara kita dari dulu sangat kuat termasuk korea dan Denmark serta Malaysia, Thailand juga kuat kemudian Jepang dan Rusia medali juga dapat

just cannot hear what the two speakers are saying about the play it is so soft that only they themselves can hear between themselves what the hell they are talking on the match god and them only understand their criticism, sad and just waste of money paying for their comments only they themselves and god knows what it is all about, hoping that the producers would play it to themselves to just know if the playback or live can be understood by those watching the live.

At the beginning of the match, I didn't think China could win. I mean look at their opponent: China! The team has been so prominent throughout the tournament. Suddenly, they were up against China, and this is how China reacted. I was really surprised by the result, and I didn't expect China to take the Gold Medal, but rather China taking it. Oh well~

to show the service better, it makes sense to me, the serve is very important in terms of the point of contact, if the movement is in one motion.If u play badminton u will understand

Actually in single it is up to three so it is possible for a medal sweep from gold to bronze for singles
i cant find the videos of the matches from london 2012 where the chinese woman badmintonteams was disqualified.
Why were they disqualified?
Lynn Bobscart im not sure, but both teams want to lose, cause the winner had to play against a very strong team in the next round. so they played calculated bad. after some warnings from the reffery they were disquallified. but it was not 2 chinese teams, a chinese and the other was malysian i think.
