    My God, where have all the years gone?! I remember knocking about ALL of these places when I was growing up - as if it was yesterday. Things were a lot simpler back then - these days, everybody wants to rule the world! That said I'm 63, still living in Brum and loving it! 👍🏾❤

    Definitely later than '71! There's a MK1 VW Golf in the film.😏

    Looks amazing. I could have literally gone and have some tea with Darnell and Shantelle without hassle.

    It's a horrible regime in my opinion, but you can't blame Islam for what has happened to our country. You cant blame the fox, blame the government for opening the gate and letting it in.

    Birmingham wasn't multicultural then it was very English, however London was multicultural those days most immigrants when come to the UK went straight to London as the job opportunities were big.

      Nah! My mum and extended family came from the West Indies and worked at Dudley Road hospital for years! My dad did his time at the Washwood Heath train depot an' all - 30 odd years if memory serves. I agree Brum wasn't as multicultural as London, but we had our fair share of diversity. ❤

    Looks dangerous. No way buses and cars are allowed to zoom around so close to pedestrians these days! Thankfully.

    Birmingham has changed , some for the good and some for the bad. We need more Union Jacks not to represent the past but Today ! Our only Home!

    Place is a mess now

    • @see6052
      @see6052 2 дні тому +1

      It isnt. Its a hundred times nicer now than it was then. The old buildings looked horible which is how i remember them as a child at that period. They were dirty. Blacm from soot, oppressive. Interesting though some places i think are a complete toilet now like the top rnd of corporation street by the uni and st chads we're no nicer then.
      Its just a shame the nice, well-dressed, respectable people from the 70s who were mostly there working, shopping or having a nice day out. have all been replaced with hordes of bumbling, shuffling, scruffy, unkempt, uncouth, incoherent, under employed, under educated trash.
      Its very very sad

      @idratherbeaphilthanajustin9533 2 дні тому +1

      @@see6052I'm a Brummie born and bred approaching 50. The soot was from traffic, chiefly buses, so in regards to now I agree that today's B'ham is an improvement. I'm not completely sure about the buildings thing although certain areas such as St Martin's and surrounding area have been cleaned up and improved.
      The people though.....

    • @see6052
      @see6052 2 дні тому +1

      @idratherbeaphilthanajustin9533 re the people.... utterly shocking. I actually lived in the city centre for 3 years until recently .... the bit up on the canal near blindly place. I loved it there it felt very safe and full of lovely people just enjoying a nice life living there or visitors having a nice day out exploring. Shame to have to admit though it was lovely because it was the least "brummie" area in birningham. The bits where what now calls itself "locals" live aren't good sadly

      @@see6052 ...all 'round the Council House and the The Hall of Remembrance looks fantastic now! That said, I wish they'd spend some money on their provincial properties. Some of the shopping areas in the outer districts look God awful now! 🤷🏾‍♂
