What size needle do you use in your machine? You said 207 thread, correct? Is there a way to adjust the spacing in that machine? Great video, thanks!

Could you send a link of what tool you use to trace your designs? I’m having a hard time with what I have. Cutting through my paper and not very sharp edges to my designs.

Awesome front. Do you do the metal strip on the back? If so, what do you use? If not, what would you recommend using?
Thank you. I do not use a metal strip. The metal strips are added to generic shields because they do not use veg tan leather which is much stronger. They use a cheap leather imitation.
You should make a video on how you use photoshop for that!

Awesome. I was able to finish the shield out in a day. Allot of the time spent is waiting for stuff to dry

Great video! When you stitch the leather together for the shield do you have to use a nomex threat?
I just use bonded nylon. It works great and I have had no issues while in structure fires

@@AttackLineLeather so you use alcohol based dye. I'm curious if you oil the shield to keep it from drying out, or does the tan kote seem to work for you?
The tan kite has been working very well. My Lt has my first shield ever, and it's going on 2 yrs now. Other than some darkening it's in good condition

What size are your letters? 1/2 or 3/4in
I used two pieces of 8-9 ounce leather and it seems too thick?
Interesting. I've never had an issue with this weight before

What tool did you use to trace out the template
Its a stylus with a fine point. You can find them at tandy leather, springfield leathe co, or hobby lobby
What do you sand with ?
@@dylanmay7928 i use a buffer motor that i converted into a sander. I have a video on that. I also use a dremel tool for hard to reach spots.
How thick did the shield end up being? Looks good!
