LOL, I saw that edge and made a mental note to make it a little oversize. It is a great look to dress up a plain mirror. Well done and thanks for sharing.
I have a question. How come you didn't use construction-grade glue to glue the frame to the mirror? Also, what about the mirror holders and how they stick out farther than the mirrors surface?
Nice job. I wouldn't have thought about sticking it right to the mirror. I would have taken the mirror down and fit it to the frame, then figured out how to mount the whole thing. This is much simpler. Great tip. Thanks for sharing.
In doing mine, I pressed the frame against them to determine exact location. Then I used my router to insert a hole for it to fit perfectly snug against the mirror. I also used 3M Velcro strips for mine. Works way better than double sided tape.
When I made mine I didn’t have a router, so I marked the exact locations and figured out the depth, and drilled a few holes to take off as much material as possible, then chisel notched the rest. Made sure it sits flush against the mirror, and applied glue 2/3 of the way on the molding so the glue won’t show up in the reflection.
Is there anyway to build the Frame so that you’re not encroaching on the mirror? I want my frame to make my mirror a little bit bigger so it fills up the space I have in mind better.
I love simple projects that produce excellent results! Great work! It's always good to see the Festool Domino in videos. Until I get one I'll using my biscuit joiner. :-)
Sam A $700 Festool Domino, some glue, and stain on a pre-made piece of crown moulding, improperly mounted, with no inset, does not a good craftsman make.
I notice that you have four clips holding your mirror up. Mine is like that too, two top and two bottom. How is your wood sitting flush against the mirror with these clips hanging over the mirror to hold it in place? That's my biggest question when framing a mirror and I can't seem to find the answer. What did you do about the clips?
The molding has the relief cut so it would angle away from the mirror and clear the clips. Chiseling a little notch out where this sit would be perfectly okay.
Where did you get the cash for those super expensive tools? I see you also sphered on those Harbor Freight f style clamps. That said, thanks for the great info.
Finally someone who doesn't want to just complain about not having expensive tools. Great job on finding an alternative for not having expensive clamps.
I was thinking the same thing: huge clamps, biscuit cutter, and so on. I will look into some tools as I have 4 mirrors to do. Also can you get the frame off if you wanted to?
The real question is why do you have a camra in your bathroom 😳. Lol jk I assume to make video or whatever 🤷♂️nice job on the frame I had the same prob I added a real thin trim to the outside of it turned out nice.
Titled: make mirror frame with store bought stuff.... Uses festool domino to do job. I know it's unnecessary and the average Joe can still do this without it but it was still funny to me.
The frame looks great and your instructions are very good too. But why take the time to make a great looking frame only to not level it when hanging. You also have some mirror sticking out on the right.
"You don't need expensive tools to do this"....says the guy with the expensive tools. What a HYPOCRITE..... You be more believable if you were to use a hand saw and a hammer.

Frame should have been wider on all sides ~1/2" to hide edge of mirror.
I mean, why? Just why? So easy to avoid
Good job, thank you for not having 16 mins video

That came out great! Good use of crown molding!
Festools are the rolls Royce of tools- as soon as I saw that - I’m gone- great work!
That really dresses up the mirror, nice job Andy!
How did you put it flat in the mirror when there are clips on the sides?
Used a thick tape

Wow ! Beautiful results and so easy.
I wish I was this skilled! I am going to try to do our restroom mirror. Thanks for the video. Great job.
I learned the hard why you stain the back of the frame - you can see everything in the reflection of the mirror!
I feel like this is a joke but I still have to ask 🤣
Nice mirror frame l will make one for my dauther OK tanks for the IDEA.
Very nice frame...good job!

Brilliant!!! Thanks a ton!!
Measure twice, cut once.
Just curious, but how will the frame sit flush when there are mirror hangers screwed, holding mirror to wall?
Susan Yocum My mirror doesnt have any clamps holding it up. His must be glued on too.To answer your question.....
You can see the clips in the video. I was wondering the same thing.
The back of the molding has a relief.
dumb question.... Is that standard or something that you did? lol
Also, Great video and I appreciate the quick reply!
Stormy Williams standard. It is the spring angle relief of the crown molding
What type of molding did you use

Very nice project.
Is the mirror supposed to be showing on the outside of the frame on the right side?

Very nice. Well done.
turned out great
What tape did you use?
You are so smart man!

This can be done for picture frames too?
Nicely done man, i need to get my hands on a reasonably priced joiner. Any recommendations?
great video . thank you.

Hard work! Thanks for watching.
James McIntyre clown question bro!
Is there a gap on the inside edge between the molding and the mirror, because the molding is crown on angles off?
Yes there is
do you find this cause dirt to build up any more than a flat molding might?
Doesn't look like he made this frame long enough because I can see the mirror edge. Nice idea
It's all about that clap. 👏
i just glued it piece by piece
Glue sounds easy. What kind?
Finally someone who doesn't want to just complain about not having expensive tools. Great job on finding an alternative for not having expensive clamps.
Perfect frame but who in the hell has these tools readily handy in their home??? smh
Navy gurl exactly
I was thinking the same thing: huge clamps, biscuit cutter, and so on. I will look into some tools as I have 4 mirrors to do. Also can you get the frame off if you wanted to?
People will always find excuses. SMH.
Lots of DIYers do. I have all them except the Domino but have a Porter Cable 557 biscuit cutter (plate jointer) for those corners.
I do

I rent, my questions is can it be removed?
You could use command strips to adhere frame to mirror.
Maria Villarreal
Or you could just have the landlord remove your mirror and then buy/make a nicer one.
@@lauriepineiro893 I will look into these

pretty sure you can buy the Domino at a store (for a reasonable $1299)

Nice build, but please Delete the dam woodpix spam comments.

I would have fastened the mirror to the frame, then hung it. If you ever have to remove the mirror, you're screwed.
The mirror is showing on the side.
No measurement details on cutting your crowns to the measurement of the mirror.
Mine has been up for 10 years with that sticky tape.
WOW, nice but...this isn’t for your typical DIY...you’d have to invest $$$$s in tools
Good excuse.
No, actually, I teach my clients how to do it and you do not need fancy tools at all.
It's great when you have $2000 WORTH OF TOOLS.
Robert Burns add a few more zeros.
Great excuse to not do anything.
Yes no need to be using $30k worth of Festools only to have the frame itself be sized incorrectly
You can see the edge of the mirror. Weak.
Cheesy
He screwed up and made the frame too small on the width.
I was impressed until it was stuck on the front of the mirror
I made it with woodprix handbooks !
Stodoys is a good solution for every woodworker.
so i made it too . just by using woodprix woodworking plans:)
