I love how Caraxes and Syrax sing to each other as Syrax circles the bridge. It entirely foretells the coming conversation. Their riders care for each other that they’d not dare harm each other, at least not directly.
Matt Smith really shines in this. I didn't think he would considering how ingrained in my mind his Doctor Who is. I thoroughly enjoyed this. kudos
We really need a collaboration with Century Age of Ashes. HBO Max would make so much money selling digital cosmetics like dragon eggs, character outfits, and House Banners!

All the members of the family from my mother's side are like that. They take care of each other but very cruel to outsiders. Sometime i hate that.

This was easily one of the best scenes in the 1st season. Even Ottos acting at the beginning was perfect. Can’t wait for season 2
Daemon played this correctly. He knew the princess was being undermined at every turn ( in her eyes). Nobody was taking her role seriously. Daemon gave her what she wanted. To be taken seriously, and not treated like a child. Clever man.
He wanted to make her a woman.... bit creepy
@@Amantducafe I don't disagree. I'm basically just saying his manipulation game is on point. Admittedly, I didn't read the books, so I may be wrong. Just kinda going off what I saw and heard in the show.

Rhaenyra a bit shock by it, she blinks rapidly and drop her jaw very slightly in disbelief that Daemon entertaining the idea of slaughtering her.

@@christophergirardi8145 This is his brother’s little girl, his niece, who he adores-shame and regret indeed. And you can see Rhaenyra’s triumphant smile when she realizes he could never.
It’s the subtext under the surface that I think they played so brilliantly with their micro-expressions. Daemon’s expression suggests to me that he’s impressed by her boldness - as if he realised in that moment that she could indeed match him. The timing and the script suggest this too; Mysaria walks away, and Rhaenyra uses that moment to say “I’m right here, Uncle”. Really clever.
Milly said she and Matt had decided to play the attraction as ‘highly charged but under the surface’, and I think they pulled that off flawlessly in this scene.

Somehow I see those two as the power couple of the show, and I'm here for it. Though I have to suppress the fact that they're uncle and niece and it's gross. Yay for fiction!! lol Also, both are great actors (also Emma D'arcy as well) and Matt Smith really does shine as Daemon. I could never picture anyone else playing that character.
They are Targaryen, besides the House of the Dragon isn't the only house in Westeros to marry between Uncle and niece (House Stark did it), or between cousin (House Stark, Lannister....) They are the only one however who marry brothers and sisters. At least they face the consequences of their preference, unlike House Lannister....
@@thomaschaumeil3878 I am aware of all that. The subject of my comment was Daemon and Rhaenyra, not Jaime and Cersei or House Stark. Not sure why you felt you had to mention it? But I was talking about those two, not any of the other incestual characters in the books. So if you thought I was saying that the other incestual couples didn't bother me, then no, you're wrong about that. Any incest is disgusting. And I have read the books and watched both shows, so I didn't need a history lesson.
For me Emma was nothing compared to Milly. Second had a power and fire, which Emma didn't have

Why tf would Otto say to a guard escort Rhaenyra back to King’s Landing when she arrived on a fire breathing creature who’s very protective? What’s the guard gonna do? Get eaten? 💀
The acting in this scene is very well done overall. My favorite part is the entrances Targaryens have with their dragons, demonstrating their power. So badass

The way they redid this scene in the last episode, Everything was exactly the same (besides the Milly/Emma change, Rhaenyra’s change in alliance and the lack of King Jaehaerys’ crown).

Supergirl!
After hearing her speak up during the council and seeing this scene I was really excited for her character to be a lot more vocal, (smart like a Margaery or observant like Arya), but somehow her character pretty much went downhill after this.
She became more of a whiny, spoiled teenager than someone who showed promise to be a future ruler. This move was reckless but it was a calculated risk, her other actions just proved to be dumber than her character seemed to be (running off into the forest in a tantrum, choosing Laenor as a husband b/c she fked around and found out that not choosing a diff. husband when she had the chance was a horrible idea, letting Daemon ruin her reputation w/o forcing him to marry her in the ways of Old Valyrian so that the King couldn’t annul it, not keeping Alicent on her side and by proxy keeping an eye on Otto, not honing any political/social/educational/battle skills). After getting used to smart characters of GRRM who happen to be women, I was just expecting…more.

She was the only reason to watch the show why on earth did they do that stupid time jump.

She told him before that she can't have children. Then he tells Rhaenyra he intends to have a child 'one day', which means he won't be having them with Mysaria, which means this whole marriage thing he offered her was a stunt on his part to provoke his brother and get his attention. She was pissed about being used.

Not a very good show, I couldn't even finish the first season. It Ain't No Game of Thrones that's for sure. Of course Game of Thrones was terrible last season as well. It was a catastrophe.

No Season 2 because of lazy writers and celebrities.
The English actors are currently filming season 2 (and most of the actors in HotD are English, so they are not affected by the strike). And the US actors who are on strike have a good reason to strike. With what the studios offer them, only very few could make a living, and if they cannot make a living, we will only get movies with AI, which will be terrible. They are on strike for the future of movies and great shows like this! We should support them! Blame the greedy studios, not the actors for this strike!

Actually hotd is filming because the actors strike doesn’t affect them. It’s taking long to make HotD because of its large scale, you know it isn’t easy to film this stuff?
@@dreamfyres Also the CGI does take a while if you want good stuff unlike half the DC and Marvel stuff these days, not to mention each episode is almost a full movie long.
Don't like the cast change. The older actress doesn't fit the role and GoT is SO much better! 6/10 for HOTD
