Man, the Fiat Spider really feels like the sneaky underdog here. It’s like if the Miata and S2000 had a kid who grew up on pasta and espresso. That turbo whistle though-chef’s kiss. Loved the vibe of this video!
The BMW Z4 1st gen with its 3L or 2.2L inline 6 ( or 4 cylinders 2.0L for the 2005 version) seems to be a good candidate for this category of car, doesn't it ?
We had one of these in our family for 5 years, a blue one with the heritage pack (black bonnet), and the upgrade headlights (which transform the looks). A fantastic car, I couldn't recommend high enough! Rare even here in the UK!
BMW Z3, Fiat Barchetta, Alfa Romeo GTZ Spider, Gen 7 Toyota Gelica, Mitsubishi FTO... The list of cheaper lightweight sports cars goes on yeah some are FWD, but FWD is fun as hell. Source: I have a Gen 7 Celica
Pontiac Solstice GXP or Saturn Sky Redline - both with the 2.0 turbo engines, with or without mods. 2 Light weight roadsters to consider. The base model of both is the 2.4 motor- equal to the 177 hsp of the Fiata. The Turbo version- 260 hsp. The Mallett V8 version- 405 + hsp. Several years ago - on YT in Mexico was a highly modified SKY model with a 427-twin turbo unknown horsepower.
i mean theres plenty of options: Miata, Fiata, S2000, 1st Gen Z4, Z3, 986 Boxter like lightweight, lower-powered cheap roadsters aren't exactly in hard to find
Oh, that one. Yeah well, it basically is a Miata with different looks. My grandfather's cousin has the non... uh... how do I put this without spoiling the surprise? Ah, yes, the non-"scorpion" version of this, but he's to old for a car like this... he can barely get in and out. I've never driven it... only old tractors of this brand. XD And as for them being popular in Europe: They really aren't. I've seen 2 or 3 maybe. But there are a few "beans" around here. Many of 'em are non-scorpion EVs though, so... yeah.
Im French, born and raised there, and fiat as a brand is much more popular in Europe and France, and ABARTH are super popular in big cities especially Paris!!
@@yanissgaray6644 I'm from Luxembourg, still live here, and Abarth is very uncommon here. Fiat a bit less, but it's almost only 500s as EVs. The only Fiat I know around here that isn't one (apart from the 124 my grandfather's cousin owns) is a Fiat 880 DT 5. A five cylinder diesel tractor with severe rust and electrical issues, and it belongs to my father.
I worked on a Fiata today and almost every part is shared with the nd miata. The interior is copy pasted, it has the same washer fluid reservoir, air filter, battery, and the chassis is the same from the wheel hubs to the engine under shield.
Wow, 15 seconds. That's the quickest I've ever opened a video. Also I know an abarth 124 spider in my area, beautiful car in pretty much the same color. Also I would DEFINITELY take an s2k over anything here.
So the electrics and body won’t rust or fall apart…. The engine however……it’s an engine from an Italian sports car …… use your imagination😂 In all seriousness it looks like a fun little roadster
The Fiat engine are notoriously unreliable, is heavier and pricier. The ND MT transmission is now fixed, new ND2 higher PRM limit jumps up to 181hp, now the new ND3 have a new diff, and steering rack with 30 mpg average just made the Fiat not a good buy.
I literally just picked up a 2020 ND2 rf club solely because I was impressed by Mazda going to the lengths that they did to make this vehicle reliable. In my opinion to swap that motor out for a Fiat is diabolical.
@djparra41 it would be stupid in my opinion. The engine is just inferior now compared to the ND2+ engine that comes with. Just turbo or supercharge it.
Absolutely I trust a boosted ND2 makin it to 200,000 miles way more than that stock turbo 1.4L. And that's with almost double horsepower to the wheels.
I swear if it’s the Fiata…
Real
_lol_
love watching your snapchat stories 😂🙏🏼
I may or may not have bad news for you
I'll bet everyone said the exact same comment and got the answer 100% correct lol

@@NightfurySkrill_Joel yeah i mean z2 z3 z4 is pretty much the same car even z1 it's just way older
z4M w the s54 would be my choice in this category for sure.
@@HeedyMoodingz2?
The MG F and MR2 spyder are both also good contenders
And Jack on his way to raise the prices of these cars with this video 😂
lmao been eyeing one of these for a bit but they are still pretty expensive😂

Not particularly rare in the UK. You don't see them a whole lot but wouldn't consider them rare
1:36 I saw this car at the 2017 auto show honestly I really like the car
W jack vids recently

Hell yeah love that you finally did a video on an Abarth
I’d say the 986 boxster s is a fun lil roadster to
I feel like the Porsche 986/987 boxsters would sort of fit in this category?
Pontiac Solstice GXP or Saturn Sky Redline - both with the 2.0 turbo engines, with or without mods. 2 Light weight roadsters to consider.

W vid from Jack, Bros just a Chill Guy making vids for Chill Guys

Also there is the 350Z/370z roadster. For even the more lesser know roadster there is the mini Cooper roadster
I worked on a Fiata today and almost every part is shared with the nd miata. The interior is copy pasted, it has the same washer fluid reservoir, air filter, battery, and the chassis is the same from the wheel hubs to the engine under shield.
U should cop a bmw fr Germans need love too
My dad owns a 124 Abarth here in the Netherlands. Basically a go kart for the road!
S2000 and GT4rs induction noises are the best
Love the Fiata! Fiata is always the answer
Wow, 15 seconds. That's the quickest I've ever opened a video. Also I know an abarth 124 spider in my area, beautiful car in pretty much the same color. Also I would DEFINITELY take an s2k over anything here.
Was sold as an Abarth down under and we got the Performance Pack with the Monza exhaust.
The S2000 is one of my favorite Hondas there's someone a street over from me that owns a blue one and I think it's cool
I’m actually swapping a 392 hemi in my fiat 124 spider as we speak I also own a 4.8 ls swapped ap1.
I have a 2003 MR2 Spyder, I know this is a long shot lol, but I'd def be down to cruise some time! I live in Queen Creek.
the classic fiata
You should try the Mamba viper
The Abarth 124 spider is a fun car to drive
There's also a z3 and 4 plus I'd say a mr2 even tho its mid engine
the Honda del sol is the little brotha to the s2000
Jack's forgetting the MG F/TF
I’d take the fiata😉 it was such a dope day thanks for having me !!
What roads were those? they look fun
When will the zl1 hoodie be back in stock?
Would the FRS/BRZ/GT86 be around the same category as the s2k and Miata
Yayy for s2k content!
Props to jack for doing the carwow vent test
bmw z4 also fits this category well
17:15 RS Spyder is the same, just without a roof and manual
Nope, the Spyder RS is PDK only as well
I’d but the Abarth or a Z4
I would love to have one of them Fiat 124 spiders
racing the camaro vs porshe?
S2000 on top ( im biased because I own a CBR, its literally a four wheeled CBR )
I knew it was an abarth from the title😂
blurring his speedo like mkbhd
Nice pick doesn't FIAT stand for Fix it again Tony?
What about the Z4?
Jack: This is a roller coaster* 👁️👄👁️
My FRS has the same kinda high end torque thing as the S2000
a good competetor thats forgoten is the fiat barchetta
Bro i bet its the 124
Toyota could make a gt86 vert and it would sell amazing
Every time I see that car my initial thought is “wow that’s a cool Miata”😂
Aren’t you the one with the Porsche that you drove last time? I like to see that video again for different one
What about a slightly older porsche boxter
I take the Italian roaster over that Mana even though they’re the same body style I don’t like Mazda
_I cant believe how many bots there are in the comments this early. Great video, Jack!_
Rare to see them
Gray has headphone hair 😂😂
So the electrics and body won’t rust or fall apart…. The engine however……it’s an engine from an Italian sports car …… use your imagination😂
In all seriousness it looks like a fun little roadster
Miata has the smoothest manual transmission I ever drove
Does it mean you will start going out for cappuccino's?
Is just for does Jacks friend looks like the actor Joseph Gordon-Levitts a bit
My 2005 lancer es has a curb weight of 2,656 and idk if thats good
The Fiat is a Mazda they have the same engine and chassis. What you want is a suzuki cappuccino!
are you coming to fuel fest in az !??
14:59 So how many oil paintings does he have in the trunk.
Ah yes, the modern version of one of my favorite cars, the Triumph Tr6
I can name at least 10 other 2 seater convertibles you can get for that much or a lot less
Extra parts probably don’t exist
Didn't even know that Abarth spider was a thing lol
jack can u do a 4rs vs the murci plz or even the 911 vs the 4rs but i feel the4rs would walk the 911
Where is your homeboy with the GT the yellow bird that was bad ass too I like that a lot no like that Italian stallion car
Brooo I need the location of the last road, that view thoo

My 2016 ND Miata weights 2380 bc it’s the club pack so they can bet lighter lol
S2K every day!

Fix It Again Tony
