- It is absolutely criminal how little screen time these two shared in the newest season. Dominique and Alexis storyline’s would of been far more interesting if they were intertwined instead of their horrible Aunt Alexis and Reality show storyline’s. This is peak Dynasty S3 and we need more of it, a lot more...... Starring Michael Michele as Dominique Deveraux and Elaine Hendrix as Alexis Carrington Colby.

💯 the original series had class, the actors and actresses didn’t even need to try, they just oozed class and wit as if it where their blood type. Though I do rather enjoy this updated re-run for its comical relief.
Agreed. I wish that Michael would bring the same energy Diahann had. You could tell Diahann powered all that energy and pride from within. She had to prove so much and sista slayed every time!
I audibly bellowed when Dominique said “I know, that’s why you’re drinking that one” 😂 I wasn’t expecting that .
I started to stan Dominique the moment in the trial when she said "OBJECTION YOU SKANKY BITCH" like i cannot get over it

Alexis had a perfect combination of angel face and sarcasm. This actress lacks the first condition. Besides, the British accent of the original made her more... glamorous than the nasal American accent 👎👎👎

Yes, they're forcing their refinement way too much. We can tell they don't have an ounce of posh in their bone and, as actresses, that's a bad thing that we can notice that.
Watching classic Dynasty was like watching something out of a play and matched with incidental music that were truly appropriate for its time but suddenly sounded out of place when the show entered the early 1990's. So what we get from the original characters is acting that harkens back to what was the standard then, a theatrical play made for television, which worked for the show.
Exactly! It's like new money trying to act classy. They should have sent them to an etiquette school in the south before taking on these roles.

And this is still some of the best scenes of S3! If that doesn’t just absolutely tell you how downhill the show went after Sallie Patrick left as Showrunner. When the best of your season is still bad, you’ve got a problem. S3 is nothing compared to the OG or even the first two seasons of the reboot. It’s a big disappointment.
If Chris Fife was Showrunner, Season 3 would’ve been a whole lot better.
Actually the show is growing on me. I have always loved Michael Michelle and Fallon is so funny.

I think the first two seasons did so, so much better with the storyline’s and shade that’s it’s not even comparable. The writing for S3 was horrid and once they get rid of Josh Reims and start writing the women real and not like jokes then maybe it will have a chance to match the OG.
@@hornetpc3329 I doubt it. I am usually not hard on remakes but this show is awful, at least what I've seen. I started with the first season but couldn't continue after several episodes. The casting is all wrong even after several recasts. I am a big fan of Nicholette Sheridan and thought she would be great as Alexis but the writers have trashed the character. The character has none of the class the original had and Elaine Hendrix has never been that great, even in her comedy roles.

To be honest I’ve watched both and this is much better. It’s more like a spoof of the original and yet it does so much better. There’s not as much of that faux-class that the original tried to have. This one knows that it’s characters are rich trash and it rolls with it 😂

The ONLY commonality Joan Collins & Diahann Carroll and Elaine Hendrix & Michael Michele have in common is that all 4 of them are beautiful women...actually Joan and Diahann in their prime were prettier...😅
Michael Michele and Elizabeth Gillies are lovely people and actors, and that's all I am going to say about this.
This whole show was best played by the original cast.
The problem with these performances compared to the original is that they are too 'self aware' when delivering catty lines, if you know what I mean.
The problem is it feels like cheap imitations, unearned. The OG was a masterclass at writing, set up and following through which S3 of the reboot had no clue how to do. It is by far the worst season of television I have ever seen, however I’m happy to say the newly released S5 is a vast improvement and is treating the OG with much more respect than just a line here or there, by acknowledging the rich history and bringing it front and centre rather than ignoring it.

I fully believe, had the writers of THIS Dynasty had given them the proper material, Alexis and Dominique would be two characters worth rooting for, a lot like the originals.

I’m not sure you know how producing works. Often well known creatives/ producers will join a product to help get it off the ground (Stephanie Savage for example). They have influence over the show, but they hardly ever check up on the show, they let the showrunner do their thing. The Shapiro’s however were extremely active throughout the whole first season when working with Sallie, and when they trusted she was more than capable to do it herself, they let Sallie do what she wanted for the second season. When Sallie left and Josh took over, it’s undeniable the quality began to go down the toilet.

@@galabinvasilev7153 We know they were happy with the show under Sallies control. I honestly do not think they would like/ enjoy what Josh made it. The show still has its moments, but it has fallen so far.
The new show had its struggles. The actresses had some huge shoes to fill. Tyra Ferrell could have brought Dominique to life in a believable way. She can be a b”@*h and walk in a pair of heels. As for Alexis, Mariana Klaveno could have brought her back to life. Mariana is a true artist who commits to the character.

yea, so ummmmmmm...this version of the classic show?...not on the level. The clothes are cheap looking and the dialogue from the "bitches", is criminally LACKING. But this version does reveal just how AWESOME Ms Carroll and Mrs Collins, were. Irreplaceable, those two...and their insults cut like razors. The insults between the two in this show, cut like plastic butter knives.

I don’t think that’s possible. I’m currently rewatching the OG now, and I’m mid S4. You just can’t compare the two, one is so far above the other it’s just wrong too. The reboot hasn’t been the same since S2. The current showunner has no idea how special Dynasty is, I mean how can you when you’ve never watched it? S3 of the reboot of Dynasty is the worst season of television history. It’s disgusting and a spit in the face to anyone with half a mind.

S4 is turning it around though (at least in the first two episodes) and even Dominique and Alexis’ scenes feel less forced and cheap. They could never top the original, but they should still try. S1 and S2 tried, and it was amazing. In S3 they gave up.
