Well to be fair that element does have some mediocre-to-bad Skylanders such as Wrecking Ball, Dune Bug, Blastermind, and Big Bubble Pop Fizz.

Massive respect for Earth being so high. I don't know how people say its one of the worst, it has so many classics. Bash, Prism Break, Dino Rang, Wallop, Crusher, Fist Bump, etc Probably my personal favorite along with Life
I feel it's one of the worst because you can easily go without it in every game. It wasn't until imaginators that I finally got a second earth type.

I do wish there was a Skylanders game dedicated to the Light and Dark elements, with a massive increase of Skylanders of the Light and Dark elements, which could fill up as many of the missing slots as possible.
As a die hard Light lover I would ADORE a Light and Dark based game

Skylanders: Atmospheres
The seventh game in the series. Taking place in the very dangerous outskirts of Skylands, which teeters on the edge of the ultimate void of no return: The Belittling Beyond (basically outer space, which has a shrinking effect on those who dare venture in it).
Intended to be the finale, Kaos aims to stop the source of the Skylanders in the one way he has not tried yet: by severing the connection from Earth to Skylands completely and utterly. Ordering his trolls to scavenge debris from The Sky Eater and Golden Queen’s Ultimate Weapon, Kaos(‘s trolls) constructs a weapon akin to an Arkeyan Conquertron that was fuelled by the most powerful crystals in Skylands (petrified darkness and traptainium).
The unstable combination of traptainium and petrified darkness causes the rift of light and darkness to exacerbate, revealing the full force of the Dark and the Light (including giants, members who can swap, core fighters, and the remaining trap masters and superchargers), who are brave in the face of the danger of The Belittling Beyond. The chaos brought on by this impending apocalypse also inspires a small group of creatures to join the Skylanders as Skylanders of the Kaos element. Everyone is together in this, whatever it takes to stop Kaos from bringing the end.
Throughout the game, Kaos would not engage the Skylanders directly, just seemingly being in a mad dash of his own in order to complete errands for his own master plan to come to fruition. As the game progresses, Kaos keeps sneaking small victories like breaking into an Imaginite Vault, kidnapping the now reformed Brain, launching a siege on Woodburrow and the Academy as distractions, and finally summoning his Hydra once more. The end goal being to force brain into using the imaginite to change the Hydra into a cosmic horror of a creature (known as the “Shrunken”, a giant kraken that harnesses the harshness of The Belittling Beyond) that can repel all portal communication, putting a stop to the player’s ability to send reinforcements.
The Skylanders will stop Kaos after many manic strifes and an ultimate battle in the end which utilises gimmick from all previous games (for the sake of not being expensive, players who lack certain gimmick Skylanders are presented with a substitute in game). A lot of the old gimmicks may come into play, with a new one appearing for the final few levels where Skylanders have to be pre-sent in a group before Kaos severs the connections, with the final levels turning into a sort of nuzlocke where the small group have to brave the levels and defeat Kaos along with the Shrunken.
The game will end with Kaos feeling the pinnacle of defeats, truly showing that he is no match for the Skylanders. Every evil trick in the book has failed, and so he gives up. Instead of trying to dominate the world of Skylands, he changes his motivation to wanting to dominate the world of Skystones. With Kaos now no longer trying to claim Skylands, the Skylanders now know that their journey is finally over, just defending Skylands from small threats that crop up every now and again, made even easier because of the extra help from the forces of Light and Darkness. When all is said and done, Skylands shall thrive under the continued safety of the Skylanders, with Eon even personally thanking the player for finishing his work as a Portal Master.
“Well done, Portal Master! Skylands is safe, and with Kaos now fully reformed, it shall forever be. And your Skylanders, whether they came from the intensity of a supernova or the mystery of a black hole, shall forever be by your side. Although your journey is now over, I am sure that all the friends you have made will miss you if you decide to leave Skylands, for Skylands owes you, your giants, your swap force, the trap team, the superchargers, your senseis, your own creations, and your humble fighters everything for all that you have done. Congratulations, Portal Master, and I hope to see you soon, whenever that may be.”

Some element positions are more different than most and I respect that, my ranked elements would be:
-10: Dark
-9: Light
-8: Undead
-7: Magic
-6: Earth
-5: Life
-4: Air
-3: Fire
-2: Water
-1: Tech
I feel like light and dark got the short end of the stick with the amount of skylanders they have due being introduced in Trap Team. Someone on the skylander subreddit named u/J'Ray15 did thier own skylanders if the light/dark was in SSA, which inspired me do make my own for the two elements.

Fire has always been my favorite Skylander element, I’ve always loved how cool it looked when my Skylander suddenly spit fire and burned all my enemies to death…I’m not crazy I swear..

If dark and light came out in a swapforce and had more time to have a bigger roaster of sky landers it could be much better.
imo, fire has one of the weakest lineups for SSA and Giants, but the rest of the games definitely give it number 1

Hearing that tree Rex is amazing is the only true complaint I have not tied to how I like a skylander
Tree Rex is effectively one of the worst giants, almost all of them are better except crusher and eye brawl who is pretty much as good.
But people are blind to think tree Rex is the best one
He is more vulnerable than hot head or bouncer, ninjini bouncer and swarm have a better mobility, thumpback ninjini hot head have better crow control... I could go on, there is a lot to say about how tree Rex isn't peak, at the end of the day you can say you like him, not that he is objectively better than bouncer thumpback and especially ninjini

Fire power!
While I could put the newer elements somwhere in the first half of the ranking, I will say that I prefer the Dark Element more than Light.
Many of the elements were interchangeable and would require some factors (characters, lore and logical usability) but for to put it simply.
Water has the consistent great Skylanders in the roster.
Fire has Sunburn in it, so yeah.
But Air and Undead did not do well for me at all personally. (They are the two elements that I always end up having less Skylanders during my collecting days.)

But with that out of the way, you appear to be somewhat rude and you can have differing opinions, but you shouldn’t be mean-spirited at the same time. Also, one can like the Air element a lot and not necessarily like the Magic element, especially when it has ‘landers such as Wrecking Ball, Dune Bug, Blastermind, and Big Bubble Pop Fizz (the original Pop Fizz is great, though).
