Thank you for repeating what we all heard in the video. Nah, but for real I liked Chima a lot when it was stil running and some crossover episode has a lot of potential.
The biggest issue with chima is the way they advertised it. I remember they pushed it hard after the ending of the final battle season, almost presenting it as a replacement. With how influential ninjago was, this did not go down well. Nexo knights just deserved better. So many cool ideas and pieces came from that theme. I really miss it
I like Nexo Knights a bit more. Chima is fun but I think modern/possibly cyberpunk knights sounds really interesting on paper and should have been given a bit more justice. The theme really suffered from having Monstrux and Jestro as villains twice, now multi-season villains can work; however, Jestro was already a villain once and had a mini redemption arc that could have been a lot better. I do see a lot of potential.
That's the thing if we gotten season 5-6, he would actually have been a good guy fighting, helping the nexo knights. They need to change their animation to will film animation like they did with ninjago season 8-10 and work on their character development, being more like the ninja and more serious, explshly lance, macy and Axl need to be improved and be more serious and focused just like the ninja from ninjago.
I always felt like Chima was originallly supposed to be a Lego line for the Thundercats reboot, but since they didn't get the license they made their own IP so their ideas wouldn't go to waste
Interesting because Chima is regarded as one of the reason Cartoon Network crushed the ~2011 Thundercats reboot, because a Lego partnership was more profitable than a teen oriented reboot
I love Chima more than Nexo Knights. I love the animal characters more than the medieval knights with sci-fi tech. And I would have to say my favorite of the main tribes was the wolves. And Worriz is my favorite of the main heroes. And I love how they had a potential love interest in Windra, who he didn't explicitly say her liked.
Chima was sp goated back in the day. It was soul crushing for me to hear that it got cancelled after the 3rd season. There was so much more world building they could’ve done.
nexo knights likely failed harder, just going by the shows. chima at least MADE it to it's ending even if it was a rushed ending. nexo got a whole ass 'nother season that wasn't even made or released! just the sets! and that is far sadder to me!
LEGO always believed that their original sets and characters would be temporary. NINJAGO was then able to outperform all expectations, making it permanent.
I think overall Chima comes out ahead for me. I wanted to like Nexo knights more than I did, but Nexo Knight just feels kinda bland to me. I think both themes were too reliant on overly similar set design, but at least each Chima character had a unique color scheme and visual language for their builds. Every Nexo Knights vehicle was Dark blue and trans neon orange, with sharp edges and a very light accent color. I think Chima had a better chance of long term success if they had improved the writing of the show and had more variety to the sets, instead of every set being an animal vehicle. And given Ninjago's recent referencing of it, I think theres a good chance some Chima stuff will start to ease its way back into the forefront. I think Ninjago's use of a special molded head for Ras would serve those characters well and give them better proportioned, more expressive faces. The original Chima heads were well designed, but because they sat on top of minifig heads, they were a little too big, and you couldn't easily turn the heads without needing to pull the faces off and turning the minifig head first. I get they did it that way to take advantage of reversible heads for alternate expressions, but the mouths were on the animal heads, so at most you could only change the eyes. I much rather heads like the Sonic figures where different sets print different expressions on the molded heads.
As a kid I always wanted to get ninjago sets, I had few. When Chima came out I wasn’t really interested in it, but I watched the show a bit and still got a few sets and I was happy with them. When nexo knights came out I didn’t care at all.
The wave of flashbacks and nostalgia when he did a recap on Nexo Knights 😭 Man I loved that show, or the few episodes I watched, as a kid it was so cool at the time. I don't even remember it being Lego that's how much liked it back then
You just unlocked a core memory in my brain rn, i remember i really enjoyed watching the short series of Chima when i was a kid but i couldn't remember the name 😂
So I remember detesting Chimea with a passion back in 2013. Those Ninjago spinning tops were so much fun, only to be replaced by Chimea's thing. However, I was never into Nexo Knights either, so I'd still give my vote to Chimea in the end. The lion design is cool 🤌
I used to love chima so much and in trying to start collecting sets. Whereas nexo knights never had much of an impact on me despite having watched it and had a few sets. I honestly liked chima more than ninjago at points.
I agree. If they had ended the show with season 6 which I’d assume would release back in 2019 then there would be enough time before the whole pandemic of 2020 when things were so to say, inconvenient for LEGO.
@NinjaT_Productions Well said, some people just thought they should completely reboot it. I disagree cus if you look at season 4, for example, the story and its season, it's self was so good that it even got more viewers than most ninjago seasons, and if they keep improving when they progress to season 6, it could've made nexo knights the same popularity, as ninjago. Think of season 1-2 they got pretty boring, nothing new, 3 got a bit better. They can improve even more things like 4 was doing. 5-6 being animated by Will Film like ninjago season 8-10 did. Improving their charter development, like how ninjagos got their spot on. There's so much potential in this theme, and I don't think they should abandon it or reboot it, but progressive and way more characters development and more improvements and so on overall.
If they really wanted to replace Ninjago, they should have done a tv series of Castle. They already had the bases to do a solid lore and plot (orcs, skeletons, rogue knights, etc) as well as the at the time new Lego Kingdoms theme. Plus if they wanted they could have said that Ninjago and Castle took place in the same universe just in different part of the world. Instead they made Nexo Knights that was really...meh. Sure the Futuristic Medieval Knights was interesting but it didn't had the chatisma Ninjago and Chima had.
Chima will always have a specific place in my heart 😊 Nexo knights just appear in my mind from time to time. I dont really care about that series. It did have a cool gimmick though ill give it that 😅
When referring to gimmick I mean tho mobile app / game it was a bit flawed though since you could just scan the shield pictures, no need for the toy xD
Holy crap I completely forgot about Nexo Knights. Didnt even remember the name, but I saw those shields and that moving castle and it's like my mind opened
I wished we got that final season/wave of Nexo Knights at least. It seemed like they were finally changing things up with the villains and the characters. It's unfortunate how things turned out.
me praying that this is not gonna be an comparation video that will cause drama . edit after the video , Lego Man Cam keeps this video 88% neutral , 12% bias . i didnt understand why he substracted some points only bcz Nexo Knights ended on a cliff hanger . also , Nexo Knights tehnically had 4 seasons , 2 season per arc . and althouh S1 was trash , S2 was above midd , but S3 and S4 slapped unnecessarily hard , ive never seen in any lego TV series , the hero turning into villain ( except Ninjago S5 ) and then having an character development where he tries to get away from the influence . there should have been extra points for an ascending progression ( one piece progression ) where it starts bad but over seasons it improves unbelievably in a good way .
Eh. At the end of the day it's his opinion so there is obviously gonna be some biases. Everyone has a bias including you with nexo knights. If he likes Chima better then so be it.
The reason why Nexo Knights failed is because the virus monsters wave did not get the episodes out for everyone… so people are stuck with the Lego sets from the 5th season that never happened
Much rather have had classic castle than either of these. Chima was more creative. The color scheme of Nexo is so ugly I would never display one. TOO. MANY. VEHICLES.
I remember being a huge fan of both Chima and Nexo Knights, I watched their shows and got some of their sets and books, was really disappointed when Nexo Knights fell off.
It kinda sucks how these themes didn’t do well compared to Ninjago. I think Last 5 seasons of Ninjago could’ve been used for both Nexo Knights and Chima, then Ninjago. Like have the Dungeons & Dragons season that was the last season to have Kirby Morrow voicing Cole be a Nexo Knights season, or something.
just started the video, really interested to see which one it is, Nexo Nights had a more digestible series, but Chima came out right as Ninjago hit it off and probably had a more of a golden age.
i loved Chima because of the huge amount of diverse lord and species there were. Spiders, vultures, crows, crocodiles, etc. the character design was pretty damn good too, but the voice acting in the show was just god awful. terrible voice direction, makes the show almost grating to watch at points
Bro these were my two favorite shows and themes, I liked them more than Ninjago at the time and it was a shame they failed. Especially Chima, it was so good
@ While they were around yes, Ninjago as a show is definitely better, but I had more Chima and Nexo Knights sets. I think I had a Chima video game at one point too idk.
I prefer the Nexo knights sets and ground ideas but the series is the problems, all episodes for the same structure. Jestro and Monstrux are looking after a book or forbidden power, and that for almost every episode. It’s a little tiring. The best season is definitely season four with stone clay which is the best thing to the show. Chima on the other hand had something new every episode, and lots of clans to explore. Unlike Nexo knights where most villages are the same place basically, chima also had new enemies every time. That is a good thing. I can’t really choose one over the other. I love both shows!
I think Chima was more successful than Nexo Knights based on my experience. Chima’s first season and sets did well but slowly plummeted while Nexo Knights struggled to do amazing from the very beginning, collecting the QR shields was fun though.
I think the problem is these two series were supposed to be the next Lego ninjago. They wanted to capture the lightning in the bottle with how popular ninjago was. The problem was that Ninjago was just way too much more iconic. I’d even go as far as to say Nexo didn’t do well because at this point in time Lego Ninjago rebooted had aired which was very similar theming and done much better. I think chima is more like a Harvey beaks type show. Where the show was not pushed enough and correctly to where it couldn’t reach its full potential. Also ninjago as it stands in the modern day always will have the edge because many fans are adults now and still follow the story
I really enjoyed chima as a kid probally more then ninjago for a period of time kinda sad it didn't do well. I remember playing the lego game that came out for it on the 3ds and 100% it.
Hope you enjoyed the video! Comment which theme you prefer and please subscribe for more nostalgic LEGO videos!!
I like nexo Knighton better, and I love the Season 4 concept :D
GREAT LEGO MAN CAM LEGO CHIMA VS NEXO KNIGHT FAIL THEME.
Chima just maybe make a return in Ninjago since it’s one of the realms
It's possible for nexo knights too
Which show will it return to tho
@@SuperbGorillaSome multiversal crossover with dreamzz, nexo knights, monkie kid, chima, and etc ig.
Thank you for repeating what we all heard in the video. Nah, but for real I liked Chima a lot when it was stil running and some crossover episode has a lot of potential.
@Anti-monarchQuarantine ninjago
Ninjago: You couldn't live with your own failures, and what did that bring you? Back to me...
On serious note, both series rocked
I do believe that if nexo knights was released now, it would be more popular than back then.
100%
The biggest issue with chima is the way they advertised it. I remember they pushed it hard after the ending of the final battle season, almost presenting it as a replacement.

F*cking furry, you now made me hate chima, one of favorite series.
@BoulingStars Yes, fucking yes, I am. Chima made me one.
@BoulingStarsHow does liking animals make you s furry what type of ideology is that 😭🙏
@ the correct one

Chima was so fun with its characters, vehicles, story, and lore
Both of these themes hold a special place in my heart
They truly do.
LEGO always believed that their original sets and characters would be temporary.
NINJAGO was then able to outperform all expectations, making it permanent.
Istg for a couple years i thought i just hallucinated both of these until i found this video

Chima 🔛🔝
NEXO KNIGHT
They should bring back nexo knights, continuing season 5-6, the last 2 season for it.

Chima pumped out 3 waves.
I can't even remember how many seasons Nexo Knights had 😂
Chima and Nexo Knights were practically always in Ninjago’s shadow. More people liked Ninjago more to the point where both themes got pulled.
Maturing is realizing that the whole Jestro and Monstroux dynamic was literally just a cut-out copy of Jack Spicer and Wuya from xiaolin Showdon
Good thing I haven't seen Xiaolin Showdon then B)
Omg never thought of that before
I love Nexo Knights probably because I don't remember a lot about it...
I'd love to see LEGO do an 18+ Chima tribute set of the the Lion Chi Temple, with new molds for the animal heads
Would love to see a hero factory vs bionicle video personally I never got into bionicle but I loved hero factory
that would just cause WWIII and a lot of it depends on what you grew up with.
I love the Chima theme song! I loved it so much, I learned how to download music, and put it into my 3DS.
Nexo Knights is my favorite of the two, I like it over Monkie Kid, but that's more based on personal preference than actual quality

I feel if they made the chima characyers nowafays the heads would've just been one mold instead of 2
Nexo Knights was my favorite lego show after Ninjago, it is sad they canceled it :(
It was a great video as always although I personally disagree with the outcome.
this is the 5th or 6th video I've watched of yours, very consistently well done and entertaining definitely earned this sub!
thank you so much I really appreciate it!
THE GAMESSS. chima had a really great 3DS game that was legit my childhood
Laval’s Journey right? I freaking loved that one
Chima was my favorite lego series ever. I owned almost every set. Some of the best christmas presents Ive ever got
Chima was basically Lego's version of the 2012 Thundercats show, I still don't know what Nexo Knights was trying to be.
From what I understand, Chima was supposed to be a Thundercats thing before Lego didn't get the IP, which turned Chima into an original series.
Chima will always have a specific place in my heart 😊
Nexo knights just appear in my mind from time to time. I dont really care about that series. It did have a cool gimmick though ill give it that 😅
When referring to gimmick I mean tho mobile app / game

Chima was a gem. Nexto Knights was a chas grab.
Holy crap I completely forgot about Nexo Knights. Didnt even remember the name, but I saw those shields and that moving castle and it's like my mind opened
I only remember lego chima because my best friends from school was really into the show and she often would tell me about the plot and the characters
Remember that Chima also got a LEGO DS GAME
Peak video-ing
R. I. P. Nexo Knights. No more Texo knights
Chima is my favorite lego race war theme
Dude I loved nexo knights when I was younger! The techno theme differentiated it from Ninjago and the villain designs were really creative
I wished we got that final season/wave of Nexo Knights at least. It seemed like they were finally changing things up with the villains and the characters. It's unfortunate how things turned out.
me praying that this is not gonna be an comparation video that will cause drama .
edit after the video , Lego Man Cam keeps this video 88% neutral , 12% bias .
i didnt understand why he substracted some points only bcz Nexo Knights ended on a cliff hanger . also , Nexo Knights tehnically had 4 seasons , 2 season per arc . and althouh S1 was trash , S2 was above midd , but S3 and S4 slapped unnecessarily hard , ive never seen in any lego TV series , the hero turning into villain ( except Ninjago S5 ) and then having an character development where he tries to get away from the influence . there should have been extra points for an ascending progression ( one piece progression ) where it starts bad but over seasons it improves unbelievably in a good way .
ahah 88% neutral is pretty good, I'll take that :)
Eh. At the end of the day it's his opinion so there is obviously gonna be some biases. Everyone has a bias including you with nexo knights. If he likes Chima better then so be it.
I can't be the only one who got ad for lego set when I clicked on the video😂
Man I still remember the Nexo Knights mobile game, it was fun asf and I used a website to get all the power-ups
The reason why Nexo Knights failed is because the virus monsters wave did not get the episodes out for everyone… so people are stuck with the Lego sets from the 5th season that never happened

2:15. 2?! there were 4. 2 in 2016, 2 in 2017 and none in 2018 only releasing sets that year.
I refer to it as 2 mostly because they're 1 contained story. Such as how dragons rising ninjago has 20 episodes per season now too.
@@LegoManCam I mean sure, but they were advertised as different seasons.
actually Nexo Knights was released at the end of 2015 , not 2016 . also , thats the definition of an Arc , there where 2 Arcs , and indeed 4 seasons .
Both sets gave us new and useful pieces, especially for mini figs.
just started the video, really interested to see which one it is, Nexo Nights had a more digestible series, but Chima came out right as Ninjago hit it off and probably had a more of a golden age.
i only heard of chima through dimensions and forgot nexo existed completely
I have never seen anything from Nexu Knights except the sets so I will go with that.
Love your thumbnail!
where tenkai knights? :(
Neck Knights! Floss like a boss!
I wish lego didn't just give up on action based themes like this outside of ninjago, we don't really see them anymore
i loved Chima because of the huge amount of diverse lord and species there were. Spiders, vultures, crows, crocodiles, etc. the character design was pretty damn good too, but the voice acting in the show was just god awful. terrible voice direction, makes the show almost grating to watch at points
Chima for 3DS is finished, but Nexo Knights Mobile Game was left unfinished since an erased Lego Account.
Bro these were my two favorite shows and themes, I liked them more than Ninjago at the time and it was a shame they failed. Especially Chima, it was so good
more than ninjago? bruh thats insane

Bro why must be two of my favorite lego themes fail so hard?
I think Chima was more successful than Nexo Knights based on my experience. Chima’s first season and sets did well but slowly plummeted while Nexo Knights struggled to do amazing from the very beginning, collecting the QR shields was fun though.
Nexo Knights were a bigger flop. I enjoyed Chima much more. There was even an MMO game.
Okay I only saw the first one of the chima but I was young and I loved it but then again I was really into legos
Nexo knights is GOATED I remember all those shields I collected
I think the problem is these two series were supposed to be the next Lego ninjago. They wanted to capture the lightning in the bottle with how popular ninjago was. The problem was that Ninjago was just way too much more iconic. I’d even go as far as to say Nexo didn’t do well because at this point in time Lego Ninjago rebooted had aired which was very similar theming and done much better. These two are my favorite
FOR CHIMA!
I also want to bring this up. Legends of chima actually got to be in Lego dimensions
Nexo knights was peak, aint nobody can convince me otherwise
I really enjoyed chima as a kid probally more then ninjago for a period of time kinda sad it didn't do well. I remember playing the lego game that came out for it on the 3ds and 100% it.
i loved nexo knights as a kid
i got so much merch
Chima is nostalgic as Nexo Knights is well..
I wonder how things would go if Ninjago had a crossover with Chima and Nexo Knight. (Like a crossover TV movie)
I liked both but honestly overall prefer Chima alot better, Nexo Knights was cool though
I liked both, nexo knight and chima
I liked both of these 😭
I love chima own every episode on dvd
Im honestly a nexo knights fan but thats just my opinion
Chima for nostalgia
I remember nexo knights being cool as fuck.
I haven't watched the video yet, but to answer the title, i'd say Nexo Knights flopped harder
Gotta say Chima. I thknk the stories relate to real world situations more often. And the sets were probably peak LEGO
Nexo Knights went so hard. Im sad its gone...
I promise you I was growing during these times and Chima was WAY more popular
I loved both of them
