Photographing Zion, Fall 2024: Episode 1
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 гру 2024
- This week's episode kicks off my Fall 2024 visit to Zion National Park. This is the first of an 8 part series, including the film reveal video at the end. Many of the narrations are taken directly from my written journal. Following the final installment of the series, an eBook will be available that pairs these handwritten journal entries with a look at the original sheets of film on the light box. Past versions of this "Unpolished" eBook series are currently available on my website.

Many of the voice over narratives on this trip were taken directly from my written journal. Following each video series, I scan the handwritten entries and create an eBook combining them with unedited looks at my film atop a light box. This "Unpolished" series of eBooks is available on my website. The volume for this trip will be released after the final video goes live, but past volumes from previous trips are currently available.

Thanks for continuing to post your adventures. Even though I shoot digital I find your approach to landscape photography truly inspiring.
Yes…Well said.
Nice seeing the story behind the photo of the pinecones that's also in the print portfolio. Merry Christmas Ben.
A Christmas present from Ben Horne in the form of a new video. Thanks Ben, merry Christmas!
Whether I will ever go to Zion or not, but every year I surely do visit through your videos..
Merry Christmas everybody, a perfect start to the day, thanks Ben.
Now dinner then sit down with a nice Red and have a leasurely read of Vol 2 of the zine.
Love that parting shot at the very end.
Merry Xmas Ben. Great to have a new series from Zion. Love the image and looking forward to lots more. Thanks for sharing.
Super video!
Nice to see you back out there, Ben. Lovely work, as always.
Merry Christmas, Ben! Great to see you back. Watching this video on Christmas morning is a lovely way to start the day ☺️🙏🏼🎄
A real treat on Christmas Day, Ben 🙏🏼 All the best to you and yours for the season 🌲 Also, the pine cone image is a gem ❤️
It’s Christmas! I have a present from Ben!
Really enjoyed that. The approaching storm sequence was great, I could listen to that over and over again.
A wonderful scene here, Ben. It was nice to see so much consistence from edge to edge coverage of the cones and the needles. I could easily go for the warmer version too....maybe my old V-50 thoughts there......Trail Images.
Oh boy what a surprise! I just got up on what is 6:30am Christmas morning my time, in let's say a less than stellar mood. This does help a lot, *thank you* Ben! I'm eagerly looking forward to the other episodes on this trip.
PS I loved how you let the sound of the hail transition into the calm of the stream. Well done!
Nice opening. I like the diary entry device and the pivot away from one video per one day of your trips. Good story telling. Also, thanks for releasing this early enough for a Christmas morning watch in Europe. Great present 🎄
Wonderful photo of the pine cones, Ben. That would drive people nuts as a 1,000 piece puzzle.
Who knew that a bunch of pine cones could look so beautiful.
Nice one Ben and Happy Christmas to you and yours
Great timing for a Ben Horne video. A Christmas treat. Merry Christmas everyone!
Who knew fallen pine cones could be so beautiful! So beautiful!
Amazing how satisfying a simple collection of pine cones can be! Happy holidays!
Nice video 🙂👍
What a perfect start to Christmas Day , thanks for the present Ben hope you have a great day as well
Vision is everything. Nice photo!
Perfect Christmas morning viewing. Merry Christmas Ben 👍🏽
The new zine was waiting for us upon returning from our recent trip along with this first Zion episode. Both very much enjoyed and appreciated. Happy holidays to you and yours and wishing you more reflected light in the coming year.
Been waiting as patiently as I can for this round of videos to start haha, can’t wait to see the rest of the series.
Great start to the trip! Good to have the storm roll through to set up the rest of the trip
Really like that photo Ben.
Good to see you back. it seems like it has been many months. Looks like Fall color may be a bust, but the pine cones/needles really did come out way better than I thought when you were composing that shot. Looking forward to the series. Take care.
Wondeful! And an image from the Vol 2 of Reflected Light!
An early Christmas gift from Ben! Always enjoy your videos and that was a beautiful photograph.
Thanks as always, Merry Christmas.
color on this looks really off - just sharing to help . .
I wonder if it's something on your end? Nothing has changed on my end (same video camera, settings, editing as before), and it looks just fine on my screen.
