A big one I think you missed, though it slightly falls under masks, would be fursuits! The realistic ones would work really well for earthen or common fantasy creatures and the toony ones more for people who are OCkin.

I'd agree! Not to mistake furries with therians of course, but loads of therians express themselves through the furry community.

Nonwearable/collection gear is so underrated... one of my favorite pieces of gear is a feather I found that looks just like my gryphon feathers, I also have a couple acorns on my desk for my squirrel theriotype :)
Can confirm the dog toys thing. Gave myself a pretty much permanent jaw injury with a dog toy.
Also another gear i highly reccomend is kinda modifying your clothes to represent your animal identity. I have a hoodie where I've sewn some faux fur on the arms, and i also have shoes I painted nails on

@@Ivy_.On_.Pawz. on the ends of the Hoodie arms. The hoodie I have is one of those with fingerless gloves and I am gonna add paws on the gloves so the fur line is like the beginning of my foot if that makes sense
I hope one day some very creative therians will make chew toys for humans that look like dog toys but not _too_ much like them...

I am a therian and a dragon kin and collecting crystals make me feel like a dragon ❤
As a copinglink opossum, I love collecting cool rocks and twigs I find and bringing them to my den!!
Not a therian but a dragon, I’ve got a really cool pair of knitted gloves that look like scales and a big long tail that I wear around the house, it’s great! Also bones and rocks that I find and random shiny objects like pieces of glass
Im a fox therian and of course I wear tails and masks but since bug Therians don’t have a lot of choice for butterflies and moths those wings capes would be pretty nice
Yes! I’m a moth therian and I love those antennae headbands with the wing shawls.
Some other moth things I like to do are keep flowers in my room, fly kites, and open the windows whenever I can to feel the breeze. :)

what about accessories that emmet or reflect light for moth therians? those steampunk cosplay goggles that are at spirit halloween and such might also be good for replicating the way the eyes look on many bugs. theres probably stiff, stick like jewelry that could reflect either the environment or the feel of the stick like limbs a lot of bugs have. you could add wing like designs to backpacks as well

I think that music is another way of expressing your experience as a therian.
Get yourself chewlery which you can actually chew on without issues! It is considered a form of stim toys.

I'm a fox therian and this year I found a fox skull in the meadow. I didn't know I was a therian back then, but I REALLY wanted to take her with me and cleanse her, even though no one in my family supported it. Now, apart from the mask, gloves and a few gears that I recently ordered, I also have a beautiful skull on the shelf and I am happy.
I don't speak English well and I use a translator, sorry if I wrote it incorrectly
Before i figured out I was a therian, I kinda did quadrobics in a different way. I also played like i was an animal,not like the people who say “i will play ad the animal..blah blah.” I actually walked ,idk but might have do vocals too. We had this game with my friends where we found a crystal then our spirits turn into different animals. It was kinda fun. Later on , I awakened at this summer, being a polytherian.
I could actually relate to the hoarding trinkets like dragons do even before I knew I was therian. As far back as I can remember I would always find little things on the ground that other people had thrown away or lost or discarded and I would keep it for myself. I also take pride in the amount of pencils I was able to collect last year. And speaking of pencils, don’t worry I share those with the poor people who always forget their school supplies. Probably because they were the ones who lost the pencils in the first place 😂
As a therian, I love seeing you on UA-cam and I just wanna say, you give me bursts of happiness with my therianthropy, and you remind me of how there are other therians out there and I'm not alone. I know others probably feel the same way and that makes me glad.Thank you for being just yourself and not letting people discourage you. Never stop being yourself!!!!!!
I love the freedom and amount of self-expression in the alterhuman community! Finding more creative ways other than just masks and tails is awesome (although those things are still great).
Some personal gear-type things I do: I really enjoy vulture culture, as well as collecting things like cool rocks, sticks, and feathers that I keep at a special space in my room.
Art is a wonderful form of expression. I often draw and make moodboards for animals and nature scenes, as well as myself as my kintypes or some type of hybrid. Music really helps me connect too.
Lastly, I like to make little scent pouches that I put around the house. I’ll soak a string-material in water filled with certain plants and oils and it makes my home feel very forest-y, especially when a breeze comes through the windows. It almost feels like I’ve made a scent-post, haha.
Love hearing others’ ideas! I for sure want to get more plushies in the future. :)
The clothes stuff also works for fictionkins ! I really like to dress like my fictotypes or doing stuff that reminds me of them. For example, I like collecting fake guns and gems.
Art is a great way of expressing yourself. I draw my kintypes a lot.
You can also decorate your room like it was your nest/cavern/whatever your kintype lives in. It feels great, I swear.
I don't think this counts as gear, but you can roleplay (irl or by gaming) as your kintype. There's a lot of [animal/creature] simulators.
Also, apparently, according to the captions, alterhumans are ultra humans. Great, really. Philosophical maybe.

I’m not completely sure I’m a part of the community but I’m looking into it. If not I’ll probably just keep watching this channel because of the amazing community! If I am a therian I am probably a feline or canine theriotype or maybe both. I hope I am a therian and can join this amazing community
Another piece of gear you missed was wings for avian and dragon therians/otherkin. Personally my therian and otherkin types are Artic wolf, black cat, angler fish, red macaw and fire dragon, so wings are a big part of expressing those last two kin types
Yess! I really want to make some kind of wings you can wear and move with your arms for my blue gold macaw theriotype but I don’t know how to
I know you have already but this word needs to be spread, to be a therian you need to have involuntary behaviors of your theriotype not just a connection. There is significantly more therians than before and even though they will grow out of it I still think it’s good to get that out there. Btw I’ve said it many time on my channel too 😊
I make masks and wear my tail, but i also make drawings! I drew a BUNCH of paws of my therotype and their paw ! And i still consider it gear :)
I actually really needed this video because even though I have a tail and stuff, my family will legit push me to the ground for wearing anywhere except my room. Only way I can use it is for costumes, when I'm at 1 of my friends houses where they don't care, and on my backpack in school. Thank you for existing!
My parents think the definition of furry is what the definition if a therian is and they HATE furrys… little do they now thy really hete therians.. worst part is im a therian… my sibling’s bully me for wearing masks too. This vid really helped me learn what i can use as gear! Any tips for big cat gear or domestic cat gear?

LOVE your vids Thorn! I'm so happy I found your channel, it’s great watching one of the most well-known therians on UA-cam :D You make AMAZING and very relatable and informative videos, I love watching because it’s not only fun, but also educational in a way
Something that I’ve always struggled with as far as gear goes is finding some of my theriotype. I have a ringtailed cat theriotype, and finding gear for it is a nightmare.
Because ringtailed cats lived in caves with miners, I’ve always found myself liking small but high places, so I got a loft bed.
I like shiny objects, so I’ve been collecting crystals and other little trinkets that I like.
Of course, as this video also states, gear doesn’t have to be directly linked to your theriotype, the purpose of gear is to connect you to your theriotype. Thank you so much thorn for being the clarification guide for this community.
I'm animalhearted! I love to wear gear to connect to my heart-types! It's great fun to make anything as a crafty person xD
One huge one you missed, is clay sculptures and art dolls. I think it's great to have that kind of stuff because you can put the art doll into any pose you want and let your wild side run wild as you sculpt an animal of your own!
My favorite piece if gear that I own are my elf ear earbuds. They’re really cool and comfortable to wear!
I've made a few paintings on my therianthropy, and my masks hyperinflation has now evolved past my therianthropy lol. But other stuff you can get/make are stickers, calendars, posters, or decor too make you feel like you're in your habitat. I have ivy strands and mushroom lanterns above me bed ❤❤
Guys! most of you know, but spread this to people who doesnt!! On November 27th its Therian/alterhuman day, so all therians can wear gear, masks, etc and do quads/vocals outside! also wear feathers to recognise each other

If you're a therian w/ braces, you can also shape some of the wax you put on the pokey parts to make fangs of your theriotype has them!

i'm a therian/otherkin(dragonkin?) and my therio/kintypes are rosevine drake (a type of wingless, flightless dragon), moonlight wyvern, red fox, nile crocodile, and white-tailed deer, and some of my favorite things to do are look online for pictures to use for reference to draw my therio/kintypes in various poses, hoard rocks and other shiny things (i especially love rings and geodes/crystals for some reason), sit under trees (especially willow trees) and read/do quads during summer, and swim around, i can even kind of do a death roll! i also am working on getting croc skin accessories and perhaps antler headbands! love your vids btw!! you're a huge inspiration to me and you're honestly the reason i found my identity in the first place :)

Yep.
If you can’t buy stuff, (like me) cut up a socks that are the colour of your theriotype into fingerless gloves. Then, draw paws or whatever your theriotype has on there hands (scales, claws fins etc.)
You don’t need to get a cat mask for a base! You can grab some cardboard and make a mask. If you don’t have something to put around your head to wear it you can make a strap out of cardboard. Also for the fur you could grab a pompom and rip it up and glue it on your mask.Hope this helps with anyone! This is what I did for myself :)
I just use one of those balloons for balloon animals..
Cardboard masks are kind of better honestly, you have a lot more freedom to make the shape more specific that suits your 'type better!
Also not giving unethical companies money :D, cheaper and better for the environment

I’ve been questioning if im a therian. I often have dream shifts. Today I really out of nowhere wanted to run outside and in a forest so insanely bad I couldn’t even focus. I also during the shift felt like I had ears on my head but there wasn’t anything there. Idk, regardless even if I’m not I fully support all therians!

I believe I have all of these items that are lion themed, which makes sense, because I have collected all lion items my entire life, and only found out I was a therian about 3 years ago, but I have all this gear already! :3
something that i do all the time is getting clay (of any kind, i use air dry though) and putting the print of one of my theriotypes in it (not actually, just carving out a paw/claw print) and it turns out very nice
also: rainbow loom bracelets are amazing for chewing on. specifically fishtail and monster tail, they hold up very nicely

Something that should be made for therians if ears but ones that twitch, I always feel like my invisible era are constantly twitching,
Not a therian but lynx-hearted, I've noticed certain fabrics make me want to knead, so having soft fabrics help me connect, or even touching things that draw my attention

Leg warmers, fluffy pajamas, stuff with fur, fluffy clothes, etc.
Games, movies, Series, etc that feature People who shapeshift or identify as animals in some Way or just show Your theriotype often. (Like how to train Your dragon for dragons, and wolfwalkers for wolves, Nemo for fish (Specifically clown fish), etc.)
Drawing in general. Theres a Lotta stuff that isnt exactly related to Your theriotype but it Can be,

I’m a wolf, eastern coyote, eagle, and feline therian and while I have the classic tail and mask (plus fursuit paws/head since I am also a furry), some cool gear that makes me feel connected to my theriotypes are: bone and tooth jewelry (ethically sourced ofc), my fox bone collection (vulture culture, I found it in the woods), some feathers, my moss jars, my green pillow+blanket, and my animal plushies!

I do have a question about therianthropy though; how can you find out if you have more than one theriotype? I have been questioning a wolf but I am not completely sure. If you have some advice I would be really thankful!

I had a huuuge biting problem as a kid because of my wolf theriotype. I’d always chew on my clothes and my hair, so my parents got me these plastic spring like necklaces called chew necklaces. The felt really weird so I forced myself to stop chewing. I lost those necklaces sadly. Still to this day chewing and biting things like my pillows relieves a lot of stress!

As an ADHD alterhuman, I can't recommend chewelry enough! Baby teethers also make fantastic chew toys and come in a greater variety of textures.

While I don't technically wear gear, I do have a silver wolf dog tag charm that I wear every day (I'm wearing it as I type this) I also have a silver wolf bracelet that has sparkly green eyes that is also black and purple. I guess I would consider those a link to my identity.
Also, if you're a therian who lives in colder climates during winter, you can wear gloves that can act as paws, I've tried it even though winter gives me immense species dysphoria.
