When you replace the needle bearing, note, that the needle bearing must 3,2 mm deeper on the gearside of the flywheel. Thank you for all your 914-videos!
Ian Karr - Lol, I’m rolling in UA-cam cash. Not to brag but I bring in hundreds and hundreds of pennies a month via Adsense and UA-cam. One day I’m gonna do some 914 videos - that should bring in the cash
You're really very good at this UA-cam thing! Great video quality, editing, and pace. I have this same job to do in the not to distant future, and this was very inspiring for me to get to it... I need to get a dial gauge - can you provide any info on what setup/product you're using?
ChrisFix ya know, I generally feel the same, but the more I use this dial gauge, the more I see the need for a better quality (more accurate) instrument...
Thanks, Jerald! Please subscribe if you havent already ;). Here's the yoke: www.thesamba.com/vw//classifieds/detail.php?id=606308 The stand is just from Harbor Freight.
Ian, great videos as always. Where did you order your Sabo 12mm seal (that you didn't get in time)? I'm doing this exact job currently and can't seem to find them.
I'm on my third pressure plate, third flywheel, and second disk in my EV 914. I foolishly tried to avoid buying a stage III kit and used stock vw bug parts that I had (my motor adaptor is from a bug). I burned up the stock pressure plate and my first flywheel in a week of driving; then I tried a stage II kit from ebay, that lasted about 3 weeks. Then I finally got the memo and bought a 2600 lb Kennedy pressure plate, an nos flywheel, and I re-used the 4 puck disk. Problem solved, after four motor and transmission pulls of course (the first one was to see what kind of clutch I would need, Porsche or VW).

Thanks Chris! The dial gauge setup is from Harbor Freight (Grizzly). Though I should probably get a better one :)
@@IanKarr Thanks for the info. For the amount of use it will realistically see, HF will work just fine for me!!

Interesting. I assume the issue was the torque of the EV?
Your videos are awesome! It's like watching porn for cars. :)
Lots of money shots too :)
Ha! You don't NEED a flywheel lock IF your engine was seized like mine was. 😆
hahaha. definitely
