Ya, you pretty much did everything you could do wrong, wrong. 20 years of owning an outdoor cleaning and protection company here. Bleach will also cause any protectant to fail prematurely. Also, use an airless sprayer to get more protectant into the wood. I could make that look new. Let me know if you want to know how to do it right.

I used a deck cleaner and pressure washer but it doesn't turn out any cleaner than just a pressure washer or scrubbing. We bought a house and the deck was neglected for a while. I just want it to look good!

I’d really like to see a video on HOW TO INSTALL THE GATE OPERATOR. Of importance is installing the actuator brackets for 90°, 100° and 110° opening using a US Automatic opener. I’ve searched for this content and you’d be the first to address this subject. The instructions that come with the kit suck.
Rediculas.Petetrating water in an old fence is ignorant.Just scrap of where necessary put a course glass paper on it brush down make it quick and use a wood preserver that makes the timber last longer and kill any unwanted green growth etc on it.
The dewalt sprayer has a pressure release you should use before opening so you don't blow bleach or chemicals in your face when opening it.

What do you think about using "post saver" with wood posts set in concrete?
We've never tested them. I tend to just shy away from all wood/concrete combinations, but folks have said good things about the post savers.
What causes the black streaks from the screws? Is it because galvanized screws were used with cedar? Can you only use stainless with cedar?
Correct. You should only use stainless or coated. It's a reaction with the tannic acid in the cedar.
wet the grass and hit it with some super hot SH, but I wouldn't even bother just spray some stain on it how it is lol

@@marcpp do the bleach water mix to clean off mildew/mold. Let dry for 2 days. Go back over with mold control by concondrum. Wait 2 days then stain.

Hmmm, you're right--we have several gate operator videos, but not any explicit "how to" stuff.

Your sprinklers should never be spraying on your house or fence. Sprinkler heads are much, much cheaper than replacing your fence or siding.
